1 Dear Parents, St. Agnes Cathedral School Enrichment Program September, 2018 The St. Agnes Cathedral School Board is pleased to present the Enrichment Program for Fall, The courses offered this season are available to all interested students in grades 1-8. Courses will have six sessions, with classes beginning on Tuesday, October 9 th, at a cost of $50 per course (unless otherwise noted). ** Please note that some Wednesday classes this session will take place on the half days. Please view the course list carefully as some courses require additional fees, take place offsite and/ or have class size/age limits. The Enrichment Program is a selfsupporting project: monies collected go toward materials and salaries. There are no make-ups for missed classes. Classes meet from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. (unless otherwise noted---off-site classes meet at 3:00 p.m.). Children in the Rockville Centre School District are eligible to take the late bus home. The bus departs at 4:00 p.m. from the front of the school. Note: there is only one bus and the stops are different from where your child would normally be dropped. Please familiarize your child with the stop that is closest to your home. Please send in registration forms with payment (checks payable to St. Agnes Cathedral School ) as soon as possible but no later than Friday, September 28th to Jessica Kear c/o Arthur Kear 8-1. We will make every effort to accommodate your child s first choice. Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. 2 **MONDAY** ATHLETIC TRAINING BOOT Instructor: Sports Performance Group Sportset Dates: Mondays: October 15, 22, 29, November 5, 19, 26 Location: Sportset, 60 Maple Ave, Rockville Centre Time: 3 4PM Grades: 5-8 Course Description: Become a faster, stronger, and better athlete by taking the Sports Performance Group Athletic Training Boot Camp. An intense speed, agility and conditioning workout designed to enhance every facet of your fitness needs while improving your sports preparedness; featuring Nassau County s finest Sportset Health and Fitness of Rockville Centre. All classes will be held at Sportset, 60 Maple Ave, Rockville Centre. Course Description: Learn how to play golf using the Full Swing Golf simulators and a tour Links putting green. 4 YOGA Instructor: Marianne Bochilo Dates: Thursdays: Tuesdays: October 9, 16, 23, 30, November 6, 13 Time: 2:45-3:45 Location: St. Agnes School Grades: 1-5 Note: Students should bring a change of clothes and a yoga mat Course Description: This yoga class is for calming and balancing for the mind while being flexible, strong and fun! **This class has a limit of 12 children!!** EXPLORING SPANISH **WEDNESDAY** Instructor: Miss Poppo Dates: Wednesdays: October 10, 17, 24, November 5 (please note the class will take place on Monday this week),14, 28 Grades: 1-5 Location: St. Agnes School Course Description: Dive into the world of a new language! In this introductory course, we will be covering basic greetings, conversational expressions, culture and simple vocabulary. **This class has a limit of 15 children!!** GIRLS SPORTSET Instructor: Sportset Instructors Dates: Wednesdays: October 10, 17, 24, November 7 (please note this is a half day and the class will take place at 1) 14, 28 Location: Sportset, 60 Maple Ave, Rockville Centre Time:3-4PM Course Description: Students will learn all the skills needed to play volleyball. The skills will be applied to volleyball games.**this class has a limit of 12 children!!**

As knowledge of the game increases, players will engage in weekly tournaments. More advanced players are welcome to join in and sharpen their skills by learning moves and participating in weekly tournaments. **This class has a limit of 20 children!!**
