3 Competition Rules Please note that for full rules on club competitions please see the competitions notice board located in the clubhouse. All competitions are run in accordance with the R&A rules of golf and all decisions of the competitions committee are final. General & Local rules apply to all competitions and it is the players responsibility to check the notice boards for any changes. To be eligible to play in a Club Competition (listed below) you must have a competition handicap. You must have also played in three Chase qualifying competitions in the previous calendar year or have played three Chase qualifying competitions in the previous 12 month period from the competition closing date. 4 Competition Rules **Members who do not hold a competition handicap may play in competitions (excluding majors) in order to gain their competition handicap. It is the players responsibility to hand in all score cards including no returns either to the committee or in the designated competition box. Please make sure to fill out your score cards correctly. If the following information is not recorded or incorrectly recorded it may lead to disqualification. Players Name Handicap Gross Scores Players & Markers Signatures Slow Play Beware of slow play; keep up with the group in front, keep ahead of the group behind and wave players through rather than delaying their game. Consistent slow play may result in players being banned from thenext competition. It is every competitor s responsibility to avoid slow play and make the competition more enjoyable for all. In all Stableford competitions, if you are not going to score the ball should be picked up. all players are asked to book in with the starter in the clubhouse a minimum of 20 minutes before their tee off time.

5 Golf Course Etiquette & Dress Code We would like to remind members, guests and Visitors to our club, of our dress code on the golf club. All shirts and trousers must be of recognisable golf design. All shirts must be tucked in at the waistband. No denims, trainers, tracksuits, football or rugby shirts Are allowed. Please clean your golf shoes in the designated area. Not the golf club. Tailored shorts for men are permitted with sport socks Golf shoes are to be worn on the course at all times. Please turn off mobile phones whilst on the course. You must register with the pro-shior to play. Please arrive on the tee 5 minutes prior to play. Respect other golfers by avoiding slow play. Please ensure all pitchmarks are repaired, Divots are replaced and that bunkers are raked. Please use defined pathways from greens to tees and do not cross over teeing areas with carts, trolleys or buggies. Enjoy your golf!

6 Fast Play Makes Fast Friends Before we run down a list of suggestions for speeding up play, it s important to note the many of these tips have nothing to do with rushing your play, but rather with simply being ready to play, and with using common sense and good etiquette on the course. 1. Play Ready Golf where order of play is based on whose ready, not on whose honour it is. 2. keep your group up to speed - don t lose ground on the group in front and if you hold up the group behind do let them through. 3. don t try to emulate tour golfers and their routines it s not your livelihood. 4. if your ball goes in the rough, play a provisional immediately. if several players have lost balls, look for your own, do not move in a pack from one area to another. 5. don t be frightened to impress upon your playing partners to speed up. 6. reduce the length of time of your pre-shot routine- 30 seconds/player is more than enough. 7. mark your card while others are teeing off - not at the side of the green. 8. make sure you park your trolley or buggy on the right side of the green for a speedy exit to the next tee. 9. really, do you need that many practice swings! 10. watch where you and your partner hits their ball.

7 How To Get A Handicap You must be a member of The Chase Golf Club Ask someone to be your card marker (they must be a member of the chase golf club with an official handicap) Gents - play from the yellow tees Ladies - play from the red tees You must submit 3 x score cards post them in the wooden box near the professional shop (marked cards for new handicaps) Make sure your cards are clearly marked with: Your name Your membership number Your markers name The date 1st, 2nd or 3rd handicap card Your signature Your markers signature
