With its most accomplished team since (six team victories, seven individual titles) and its most experienced group ever with three seniors (two of them fi fth-year seniors) and two juniors, Tech fi nished second among the 30 teams competing at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. The Yellow Jackets fi nished 54 holes at 1-over-par 841, 14 strokes behind Stanford, while Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma State fi nished 2-through 4 ahead of Tech. Ollie Schniederjans came within a whisker of becoming Tech s fourth national collegiate champion, tying Stanford s Cameron Wilson for low 54-hole score (6-under-par 204). But the Cardinal senior outlasted the Tech junior on the third playoff hole to earn medalist honors. Senior Seth Reeves completed the best season of his career by tying for sixth place to earn automatic All-America honors, posting a 54-hole score of 206 (-4). Tech moved into match play for the fourth time in fi ve years, this time as the No. 5 seed against No. 4 Oklahoma State. The Cowboys jumped ahead of the Yellow Jackets early in all fi ve matches, and while Tech rallied to send four of the matches to the fi nal hole, OSU prevailed Schniederjans earned a half in his match with Ian Davis for Tech s only score. Tech Takes 17-Shot Win in Raleigh Regional Georgia Tech opened a 10-shot lead after round 1, 16 shots after round 2 and captured a 17-shot, wire-to-wire win over Washington at the NCAA Raleigh Regional last weekend at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course. In winning its the fi fth NCAA regional title in its history (1991, 1998, 1999, 2002 previously), Tech set program bests in a regional for 54-hole score (825), widest margin of victory (17 strokes) and best single-round score (16-under 268 in the opening round). Tech s 27-under-par total missed by two the mark for low score in relation to par. The win was the Yellow Jackets sixth of the year, one shy of the school record set by the team, which was runner-up at the NCAA Championship. After beginning the fi nal round 16 shots ahead of No. 8 Washington, the Yellow Jackets fi nished 54 holes at 27-under-par 825 and added a shot to their lead over the Huskies, who posted a 2-over 286 for the round and fi nished at 10-under-par 842. No. 20 Texas A&M (849, -3), Kentucky (856, +4) and No. 17 Florida State (860, +8) fi nished third, fourth and fi fth and joined Tech and Washington in qualifying for the NCAA Championship fi nals. It was a complete performance for the Yellow Jackets, who placed all fi ve individuals in the top 15 and four of those in the top eight. Schniederjans, the ACC Player of the Year and Ben Hogan Award fi nalist, began the day with a one-stroke lead and was tied with Washington s Jonathaan Sanders at 9-under-par when they came to the 15th hole Saturday. But the Huskies sophomore (10-under-par 203) ran off a string of three straight birdies and captured medalist honors by three shots over the Tech junior (7-under 206). Reeves, an All-ACC senior from Duluth, Ga., got hot and had a share of the lead at one point on the back nine Saturday, but settled back into a tie for third place with Texas A&M s Adria Arnaus (6-underpar 207). Bo Andrews, the Tech senior from Raleigh who began the round in a tie for second place after rounds of 67-68, struggled to a 74 Saturday and tied for sixth place with Wake Forest s Cyrus Stewart (4-under-par 209). Albertson, an All-ACC junior from Woodstock, Ga., fi nished alone in eighth place with a 2-under-par total of 21, while Werenski (senior, South Hadley, Mass.) tied for 15th place at 214 (+1) ROSTER Name Ht. 2 TECH GOLF NOTEBOOK Yellow Jackets Riding Momentum Georgia Tech went into the NCAA regional riding victories in its last four stroke-play events, the Valspar Invitational at Palm City, Fla., in mid-march, the Robert Kepler Invitational in Columbus, Ohio in early April, the ACC Championship in late April and last weekend s NCAA Raleigh Regional. The Yellow Jackets also captured the inaugural Capital City Club Match Play Championship on April 19, defeating 26th-ranked Auburn, 4-2, and No. 6 Georgia, 5-1. Tech won the Valspar Invitational by eight shots over Oklahoma State and a fi eld that included six top 25 teams, surged to an 18-stroke win in the Robert Kepler Invitational, and pulled away on the fi nal day for a six-stroke win at the ACC Championship. Ollie Schniederjans won or shared medalist honors in three of the events, posting a 12-under-par 201 at the Valspar, a 3-under 213 on the Ohio State University Scarlet Course in the Robert Kepler Invitational, and then a 12-under-par 204 at the Old North State Club in the ACC Championship. He fi nished second at the NCAA regional in Raleigh. Three Tech players (Schniederjans, Bo Andrews, Seth Reeves) fi nished in the top 20 at the Valspar, while all fi ve players did so in the Kepler. At the ACC Championship, three (Schniederjans, Albertson, Reeves) were in the top 10 individually, and Andrews tied for 18th. At last weekend s NCAA regional, all fi ve players fi nished in the top 15, while Schniederjans, Reeves, Albertson and Andrews were among the top eight. In the Capital City Club Match Play Championship, Schniederjans defeated top-ranked Joey Garber of Georgia, 2-up, after halving his match against Georgia. Anders Albertson and Richard Werenski won both of their matches for the Yellow Jackets in the event. Tech s NCAA Championship History Georgia Tech has reached the NCAA Championship fi nals 26 times since 1985, a number surpassed by only three schools in that period, and has posted nine top-8 fi nishes in the last 13 tries. The Yellow Jackets tied for 10th in 2009, the fi rst-year of the 54-hole stroke-play/match-play format, but qualifi ed for match play each of the last four times they have advanced to the NCAA Championship (third in 2010, second in 2011, second in 2013, fi fth in 2014). Tech did not advance out of its regional in Tech has lost to the eventual champion three times in its four forays into match play - Augusta State by the score of 3-2 in the quarterfi nals in 2010 and 2011 and to Alabama (3-0-2) in Tech has been the runner-up in the NCAA Championship four times (1993, 2000, 2002 and 2005), more than any team in the history of the championship except Houston, Michigan, Texas and Wake Forest, who also have four, and Oklahoma State, which has fi ve. In 1993 and 2002, the Yellow Jackets led after 54 holes, but fi nished second by one shot to Florida in 1993, and by four shots to Minnesota in In 2000, the Yellow Jackets rallied to tie Oklahoma State after 72 holes, but lost to the Cowboys on the fi rst hole of a playoff. Tech and OSU matched the lowest 72-hole team score in NCAA Championship history (36-under-par 1,116) at the Grand National Lake Course in Opelika, Ala. In 2005, Tech finished 11 shots behind Georgia, and seven shots ahead of third-place Washington. Since Bruce Heppler became Tech s coach, the Jackets have fi nished in the top 8 11 times, with one 10th-place and one 11th-place fi nish. Three Tech players have won national collegiate championships. Troy Matteson did it most recently in 2002 at Ohio State. Watts Gunn (1927) and Charlie Yates (1934) won national titles under a match play format before the NCAA took sponsorship of the championship in Other top-10 fi nishers for Tech include David Duval (runner-up in 1991 and 1993, T-8 in 1990), Bill McDonald (T-2 in 1988), Bunky Henry (2nd in 1967), Roberto Castro (3rd in 2005), Nacho Gervas (T-3 in 1986), Paul Haley (T9 in 2010), Kris Mikkelsen (T-4 in 2001), Stewart Cink (T-5 in 1994), Bryce Molder (6th in 1998), Matt Weibring (6th in 2000), James White (T8 in 2011) and Ollie Schniederjans (T8 in 2013). Tech and NCAA Match Play The 2009 NCAA Championship featured a new twist with the team champion determined via match play. The top eight teams after 54 holes of stroke play advance to a match play tournament format. During the match-play portion of the championships, each match is worth one point with all fi ve players participating. The fi rst team to win three points within the team match advances or, in the case of the championship match, is declared the national champion. It is a format that Bruce Heppler has supported vigorously. Under Heppler, Georgia Tech fi nished in the top eight of the NCAA Finals seven times in 10 tries under the 72-hole, stroke-play format. Tech is one of only two teams (Oklahoma State is the other) to have advanced to match play four times in the six years the current format has been in effect. In the stroke-play/match play era, the Yellow Jackets have fi nished 10th, third, second, second and fi fth, respectively, in the stroke-play portion the NCAA Championship in fi ve tries (Tech did not advance out of its regional in 2012). Tech has lost to the eventual national champion three of the four times has qualifi ed for match play (Augusta State in the 2010 and 2011 quarterfi nals, Alabama in the 2013 semifi nals). Tech has had success in other match-play events in recent years, reaching the fi nals of the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship four times in six appearances. Tech Claims 15th ACC Title Georgia Tech captured its seventh ACC Men s Golf Championship in the last nine years in late April, winning the 61st edition of the event by fi ve shots over 19th-ranked Florida State. Tech trailed the Seminoles after round one, but shot 10-under 278 in the second round and 15-under 273 in the fi nal round to pull away. All fi ve Tech players matched or broke par each of the last two days, and three fi nished among the top 10 individuals, led by Ollie Schniederjans, whose 12-under-par 204 earned him medalist honors by fi ve shots over teammate and defending ACC champion Anders Albertson and Virginia s Denny McCarthy. His opening-round 65 set the stage for his fi fth victory of the year. Schniederjans became Tech s 10th ACC individual champion, joining Bob McDonnell (1985), David Duval (1991, 1993), Mikko Rantanen (1994), Bryce Molder (2000), Cameron Tringale (2006), Chesson Hadley (2010), Paul Haley (2011) and Albertson (2013). Tech s 15 ACC men s golf titles in history ranks second among conference schools behind Wake Forest (18). Tech has won 10 of its conference titles under current head coach Bruce Heppler, eight of those outright (1999, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014) and two shared (2006, 2007). The Yellow Jackets won fi ve championships (1985, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994) under previous head coach Puggy Blackmon. Nine of Tech s ACC titles have occurred at the Old North State Club, the fi rst occurring in 1999 by 10 strokes over North Carolina and Duke. Tech won the 2011 crown with a tournament record score of 831 (-33) and by a record 20 strokes. Tech shared the 2006 title with North Carolina, and the 2007 crown with Virginia Tech. Schniederjans Enjoys One of the Best Years in Tech History Georgia Tech s Ollie Schniederjans enjoyed a campaign that put him in the company of some of the all-time Yellow Jacket greats. The junior from Powder Springs, Ga., was named ACC Player of the Year by a vote of the ACC coaches and made the All-ACC team for the second time. He also was named to the United States team for the Palmer Cup, the eighth Tech player to be named to that team, and was a fi nallist for the Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus Awards. Schniederjans won or shared individual titles in five tournaments this year, most recently at the ACC Championship, which made him the only Tech player ever to win fi ve times in one year. He took the United States Collegiate Championship and the Valspar Invitational outright earlier, and earned co-medalist honors at the Carpet Capital Collegiate and the Robert Kepler Invitational. He enters the NCAA regional on a three-tournament winning streak. David Duval ( ), Stewart Cink ( ) and Troy Matteson ( ) previously were the only Yellow Jackets ever to win four tournaments in one school year. Schniederjans fi nished lower than 12th only once, and fi nished the year with runner-up fi nishes at both the NCAA Raleigh Regional and NCAA Championship (after a three-hole playoff), Schniederjans compiled a stroke average, which is the second best for one year in Tech history. Ranked No. 2 in the Palmer Cup standings and No. 4 in the World Amateur Rankings, Schniederjans fi nished the year ranked No. 4 in the Golfstat headto-head rankings and No. 3 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index. He was versus top-25 players, against the top 50. Schniederjans, Reeves Earn Consensus All-America Honors Ollie Schniederjans was named to the fi rst team and Seth Reeves to the second team in All-America teams announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America and Golfweek magazine. It is the 14th time in the last 16 years that Georgia Tech has had at least two members of its team earn All-American honors, and Schniederjans becomes the 12th Yellow Jacket to earn fi rst-team honors. Schniederjans, the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and the 2 GEORGIA TECH GOLF

3 TECH GOLF NOTEBOOK runner-up for medalist honors at the NCAA Championship, was previously named a fi rst-team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Reeves, an All-ACC choice this spring, earned automatic All-America recognition for his sixth place fi nish at the NCAA Championship. Schniederjans, a rising senior from Powder Springs, Ga., won fi ve tournaments in , including the ACC individual championship, and was runnerup in both the NCAA Raleigh Regional and NCAA Championship. Reeves, who graduated from Tech in May, won twice for the Yellow Jackets in his fi nal year and posted six top-10 fi nishes. Schniederjans Ascends to World No. 1 Amateur Ollie Schniederjans ascended into the No. 1 position in the latest World Amateur Golf Rankings released June 18 by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. With Stanford s Patrick Rodgers and defending U.S. Amateur champion Matt Fitzpatrick making their pro debuts, the 21-year old Tech rising senior assumed the top spot after winning fi ve collegiate events in and fi nishing second at the NCAA Championship. The 21-year-old Powder Springs, Ga., native was named the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and was a fi nalist this past year for the Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus awards given to the national player of the year. Alabama sophomore Robby Shelton was ranked No. 2, followed by incoming Texas freshman Scottie Scheffl er, the 2013 U.S. Junior champion. Chang-woo Lee and Gavin Green round out the top fi ve. Being ranked No. 1 carries importance for amateurs, because the player who holds that position after the U.S. Amateur receives the McCormack Medal, which clinches a berth in both the U.S. and British Open championships. Tech graduate Seth Reeves, who is ranked No. 40, is continuing to play as an amateur this summer through the U.S. Amateur, which is being held Aug at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga. Schniederjans, Heppler Take Top ACC Honors Ollie Schniederjans was named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, and Yellow Jackets head coach Bruce Heppler was named conference Coach of the Year. Schniederjans was joined on the All-ACC team by teammates Anders Albertson and Seth Reeves in voting by the league s 12 head coaches. Schniederjans was the fi fth Yellow Jacket to win the award, joining Bryce Molder ( ), David Duval ( ), Stewart Cink (1995) and Matt Kuchar (1998). Heppler s Yellow Jackets won their fi fth ACC Championship in the last six years, winning by six strokes to take home the 2014 title. Georgia Tech won fi ve tournaments this year, including four in a row through the NCAA Raleigh Regional, and was victorious at the Capital City Club Match Play Championship. The Jackets, fi nished the year ranked No. 4 by Golfstat and No. 2 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index. This is the eighth ACC Coach of the Year honor for Heppler. Albertson, a junior from Woodstock, Ga., who had fi ve top-10 fi nishes and was the ACC Championship runner-up in April, became the 10th Georgia Tech player to make the All-ACC team three times. That list includes eight active PGA Tour professionals. Reeves, the nation s 22nd-ranked player with two tournament victories and six top-10 fi nishes, made the team for the fi rst time. Schniederjans Named to U.S. Palmer Cup Team Georgia Tech s Ollie Schniederjans has been named to participate on the United States team that will compete against Europe in the 2014 Palmer Cup at Walton Heath Golf Club in Surrey, England. The annual Ryder Cup-style competition for collegiate players will be contested June Schniederjans was one of six automatic picks based on the Palmer Cup rankings (he was ranked No. 2), along with Cameron Wilson of Stanford, Robby Shelton of Alabama, Oklahoma State s Wyndham Clark, Brandon Hagy of California and Southern California s Rico Hoey from the ranking. Committee selections were Bryson Dechambeau of SMU, Oglethorpe s Anthony Maccaglia and Alabama s Trey Mullinax. Stewart Jolly of LSU was coach Steve Desimone s coach s pick. Schniederjans will be the 10th Georgia Tech player or coach to be part of a United States team for the Palmer Cup, joining James White (2012), Cameron Tringale (2009), Chesson Hadley (2008), Roberto Castro (2005, 2006), Kevin Larsen (2006), Bryce Molder (1998, 1999, 2001) and Matt Kuchar (1998, 1999). Tech coach Bruce Heppler served as coach of the U.S. team in 2003, and former assistant coach Christian Newton was an assistant coach for the 2012 USA team. Tee Shots Georgia Tech s victory at the NCAA Raleigh Regional was the 78th tournament win in program history and 43rd for the team under head coach Bruce Heppler. Tech s fi ve players collectively played 537 career rounds in 202 events, had 10 victories, 34 top-5 fi nishes and 61 top-10s. Four of the fi ve had more than 100 career rounds, while Seth Reeves played 95. Four of Tech s fi ve players had at least one collegiate victory, while the exception, Richard Werenski, won the Porter Cup. According to the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings, Georgia Tech faced the ninth-most diffi cult schedule in Division I -- Tech is vs. the nation s top 25 teams, vs. the top 50, vs. the top 100. Tech s team scoring average for the year was 282.2, which led the ACC and was 3.3 strokes better per round than second-place Virginia. All fi ve Tech players ranked among the top 17 in the ACC in individual stroke average - Ollie Schniederjans (1), Seth Reeves (4), Anders Albertson (11), Bo Andrews (15) and Werenski (17). Georgia Tech s lineup for the NCAA Championship included three seniors and two juniors, quite a contrast from the Yellow Jackets 2013 unit at the championship (two juniors, two sophomores and one freshman) or 2012 (one senior, two sophomores, two freshmen). Tech s lineup for the regional combined for 24 NCAA regional and fi nals starts. Three Tech players made the All-ACC team (Schniederjans, Reeves, Albertson), and all fi ve NCAA starters were named to the GCAA all-east Region team. Schniederjans fi nished the spring ranked No. 4 in the Golfstat headto-head and No. 3 Golfweek/Sagarin Index. Seth Reeves was No. 15 in the Sagarin ratings and No. 7 in the Golfstat rankings. Albertson moved from the 140s to No. 85 in the Sagarin ratings by the end, while Andrews moved up to No. 107 after beginning the spring outside the top 200. Werenski moved up to No. 123, close to his career high of 121 following the spring of Georgia Tech fi nished the spring ranked No. 2 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index (behind Alabama) and was No. 4 in the Golfstat rankings (behind Alabama, Oklahoma State and Stanford). The Tech fi ve combined for seven victories (Schniederjans with fi ve, Reeves with two), 21 top-5 fi nishes and 27 top-10 fi nishes. Tech fi nished either fi rst or second in 10 of its 12 stroke-play events during the year. Tech fi nished seventh at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawai i and 12th at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas, both in the spring, but won four straight tournaments after that. Tech s six victories were the most for the program since the Yellow Jackets won seven times in Tech won the ACC Championship that year and was the runner-up to Minnesota in the NCAA Championship. Tech s average drop score this year was 75.58, foourth-best in Division I. Tech scored in double digits under par in eight events this year, including scores (relative to par) of -14, -22, -15, -25 and -27 in fi ve of its victories. The Yellow Jackets won the Robert Kepler Invitational with a 6-over-par score on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State. Tech s best score of the year was 823 (-41) at the Puerto Rico Classic, which was four strokes shy of top-ranked Alabama in that event, and was the third-lowest 54-hole total in Tech history. Tech shot 839 (-25) at the ACC Championship. Georgia Tech has played in the NCAA Championship fi nals 27 times, and 26 times since Ollie Schniederjans season stroke average of was the only the second sub-70 mark recorded in Tech history. Bryce Molder holds the Tech record with in Seth Reeves current norm of ranks fi fth in Tech history. Schniederjans career stoke average of and Anders Albertson s currently rank No. 2 and 3 behind Molder s from Albertson posted his best fi nish of the spring with a T2 at the ACC Championship, his fourth top-5 fi nish of the year, and followed it up with an 8th-place fi nish at the NCAA Raleigh Regional, his sixth top-10. In three ACC Championships, Albertson has a T2, a T4 and a championship. In all post-season events, Albertson has compiled fi ve top-10 fi nishes. Werenski posted the best round shot by a Yellow Jacket this year, a 10-under-par 62 in the fi nal round of the Puerto Rico Classic. It helped Tech post a 20-under-par round of 268 and get within four shots of No. 1 Alabama in the end. It also tied for the second-best round on the books for Tech, behind Bryce Molder s 60 at the 2000 Golf World Invitational. Seth Reeves, ranked seventh nationally, won two fall tournaments (Tar RAMBLINWRECK.COM 3

4 TECH GOLF NOTEBOOK Heel Intercollegiate, Brickyard Collegiate) and has posted three other top-5 fi nishes and four other top-20s. This spring, he fi nished T16, T16, T26, T15, third, T7, T2 and T4 in Tech s seven events. He fi nished out of the top 20 only twice in 12 outings all year. Bo Andrews had fi ve top-20 fi nishes in his last six events (T3 at Puerto Rico, T15 at Valspar, T15 at the Kepler, T18 at the ACC Championship and T5 at the NCAA Raleigh Regional) before the NCAA Championship. His 11-underpar 205 at Puerto Rico was a career-low score for 54 holes. Tech Signs Four in Class of 2014 Four of the nation s top junior players will join the Georgia Tech golf program for next season, all of whom are ranked among the nation s top 50 for this class and the top 100 in all classes by the Junior Golf Scoreboard. They are (with current national ranking in parentheses): Chris Petefi sh, Danville, Calif. (19), Michael Pisciotta, Alpharetta, Ga. (20), Jacob Joiner, Leesburg, Ga. (37), James Clark III, Columbus, Ga. (43). Petefi sh enrolled at Tech for the spring semester and will begin competing in the fall, similar to what current Tech players Anders Albertson, Ollie Schniederjans and Richy Werenski did after they committed to Tech. Georgia Tech Match Play History While match play in college golf may be infrequent, Georgia Tech is no stranger to it, having participated in six regular season match play events since 2001, as well as three times in the fi ve years the NCAA has utilized match play to determine its champion. 5 TECH GOLF NOTEBOOK HEAD COACH BRUCE HEPPLER 19th Year at Tech ACC Coach of the Year 8 times 10 ACC Championships 17 NCAA Appearances Honors: 2002 GCAA National Coach of the Year; 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014 ACC and GCAA Region Coach of the Year; Successful completion of the CPA exam on first sitting in November, 1985; Member of American Institute of Certifi ed Public Accountants. Post-Season as a Head Coach: 17 NCAA regional appearances, 15 NCAA Finals appearances, 3 NCAA runner-up fi nishes, 3 NCAA Match Play appearances; 1998, 1999 & 2002 NCAA East Regional Champions; 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014 ACC Champions; 2002 NCAA individual champion (Troy Matteson). As an Assistant Coach: 1995 NCAA Championship, fi rst place (Oklahoma State); 1992 NCAA Championship, third place (Oklahoma State); 1991 NCAA Individual Champion (Warren Schutte, UNLV); 1990 West Region Champion (UNLV). If a consistently high level of success over a long period of time is the measure of a great program, then Georgia Tech s golf program under Bruce Heppler would certainly meet the standard. His peers recognized this in 2013 when they inducted him into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame. Tech is currently on a run unprecedented in school history and perhaps unmatched by any other in Division I - seven Atlantic Coast Conference titles in the last nine years and four trips to match play at the NCAA Championship in the last fi ve. Heppler has guided the Yellow Jackets to the NCAA Championship every year since 1998, and helped author 11 top-8 fi nishes in the Finals, including three runner-up showings. In 2014, Tech advanced to match play at the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in the six years the format has been used, and is one of only two programs that have advanced to match play four times. During his tenure, Tech has won or shared 10 Atlantic Coast Conference titles. Only two ACC coaches have led their teams to more ACC titles than has Heppler. The Yellow Jackets have captured or shared 44 team titles overall. He was named ACC Coach of the Year in 2014 for the eighth time, more than any coach in ACC history except one, and was a fi nalist for the GCAA s Dave Williams national coach of the year award. Since 2000, the Yellow Jackets have fi nished in the top 10 of the fi nal Golfstat rankings 11 times, and in the fi nal Golfweek/Sagarin top 10 twelve times. Tech has not fi nished lower than 14th in either ranking in any year. Heppler has recruited and developed his share of star players as well. The Yellow Jackets have had at least a pair of All-Atlantic Coast Conference honorees in 16 of the last 17 years, and landed four members of the team on the squad twice (2005, 2011). Tech has had at least two players earn All- America honors 14 of the last 16 years, and Ollie Schniederjans became the Jackets 20th fi rst-team selection in Three of his players, Matt Kuchar, Bryce Molder and Troy Matteson, have been named national players of the year. Seven of his Tech players are members of the PGA Tour, including Roberto Castro, Chesson Hadley, Matt Kuchar, Troy Matteson, Bryce Molder, Nicholas Thompson and Cameron Tringale, while Paul Haley and Matt Weibring, have status on the Web.com Tour. Several others are playing professionally either in the United States, Canada or abroad. During the summer of 2003, Heppler served as the head coach of the United States Palmer Cup team, which faced off with a team of European collegiate players in Kiawah Island, S.C. Kuchar, Molder, Castro, Hadley, Tringale and White have all played for the USA in Palmer Cup competition, and Ollie Schniederjans will join that team this summer. Kuchar, Molder, Thompson and Tringale have represented the United States in the Walker Cup matches. Twice, in 1998 and 2013, fi ve or more of the Heppler s active Tech players have qualifi ed to play in the U.S. Amateur. Six of Tech s seven returning players this year competed in the 2013 Amateur in Brookline, Mass., an unprecedented feat. On the conference level since 1985, when the Yellow Jackets won their fi rst ACC Championship, Tech has earned more NCAA Championship berths than any team except Clemson. The Jackets have earned more top-10, more top-5 and more top-2 fi nishes in NCAA Championship competition than any other ACC team. Tech also has had more All-America selections (58) than any other ACC team during the same period except the Tigers. His players have been just as successful in the classroom. Tech s golf program has been recognized with a perfect Academic Progress Report score of 1000 for eight straight years, and every senior has graduated. Twelve different players under Heppler have been named All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America, which requires a minimum 3.2 GPA and participation in at least 75 percent of a team s events. Two, All-Americans Bryce Molder and Roberto Castro, have received the NCAA s Top VIII Award, an honor given to eight student-athletes from all sports each year and recognizes those who excel in their sport and in the classroom, and exhibit high character, leadership and service to others.
