2 Ladies Newsletter Rally for the Cure The "Rally for the Cure" golf event was held on Tuesday, July 15th. With sixty-four participants, the raffle, dunk tank, donations, and the Tree of Hope and Remembrance, a total of $2,204 was raised. Over $500 of that amount will go towards gas cards for cancer patients in Winneshiek County. This year's Rally Challenges were one by Bev Brown. She wanted Cleveland Golf Classic Hybrid #4 with her drive closest to the pin on #2 hole. Joann Voltmer won a Nike Extreme Sport Bag with her longest putt on #18. A big "THANK YOU" to everyone who participated, donated prizes or help to make our "Rally for the Cure" event a huge success. Special "thanks" goes to Todd Nierengarten, Jerry and Wanda Weis for their participation in the dunk tank on July 4th. While "enjoying" the water, they raised $388. More "thanks" to Randy Olson and his crew for all the pink on the course and to Kelsey Ritner for the added touch of painting pink ribbons on the tee boxes. All these nice touches helped to make the event extra special! Golf Events in August Before moving onto August, another "thank you" goes to Todd for the chipping clinic held before the best shot event on July 8th. On August 5th, there will be a 9 Hole Best Shot Tournament. This is a non-league event. A short clinic will be held at 8:45 AM with the event start at 9 AM. Please register in advance. Our Club Tournament will take place on August 12th. This is also a non-league event open to all ladies of Oneota. The sign up cost is $10 and you choose the flight in which you would like to play. Golf your own game with anyone else anytime that day. Turn your score into Todd at the end of your round. The Club champion will be the low scratch golfer for the day. All other winners will be determined according to flights. Other events will be Jinx Day on August 19th and August 26th for the Two Person Best Ball. While August can be hot, you can still enjoy LOTS of golf. Come out and use the course!
