1 2014 SUMMER CAMP POLICIES AND GUIDELINES OBJECTIVE: To provide youth with the opportunity to learn a variety of water sports in a safe, fun and supportive environment. 1 Mission Statement: The Fairway Gorge Paddling Club (FGPC) exists to provide our community with opportunities to paddle in a positive and challenging environment. FEES: Registration fees cover liability insurance, administration, use of the facility and equipment. Five day weeks are ; four day weeks (30 June - 4 Aug and 5-8 Aug) are $180. LUNCH AND SNACKS: The Summer Camp program is a peanut free zone. Parents will provide a nutritional lunch and snacks for their child/children. FGPC will provide a pizza lunch on Friday. Please let one of our staff know if your child DOES T wish to take part in the pizza lunch. REFUNDS: To qualify for a refund, participants must give notice one week prior to the program start date this is the refund deadline. Refunds are calculated based on the number of sessions attended and a 15% administration fee. Refunds will be processed as account credits or returned in the same manner in which they were received. Program withdrawals after the refund deadline due to illness or injury require doctor s certification. Please call the Boathouse ( ) if your child WILL T be at camp. Missed sessions can not be made up. Camps will proceed in rain or shine, as we have alternative activities planned for rainy days.

2 2 PICK UP/DROP OFF: Your child must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian over the age of 19. We will ONLY release your child to the parent or guardian listed on the form provided. LATE PICK UP: FGPC staff will attempt to contact the parent with the numbers provided. If no contact is made, the staff will contact the emergency person, as previously designated by the parent, to arrange an alternate pick up. An additional charge of $10.00 for every 15 minutes will be charged to the parent/guardian to cover the cost of our Camp Staff supervising the child. 3 3 PERMISSION FOR OFF-SITE ACTIVITIES FIELD TRIP CONSENT This gives consent to regularly scheduled field trips offsite from the Fairway Gorge Paddling Club to the Maritime Museum, Crystal Pool & Gorge Waterway Discovery Centre. This consent form will also cover any regularly scheduled activities that occur on a daily basis, such as walks to the park and outdoor play activities. The general Medical Consent forms will apply to all fieldtrips. 5 5 DAILY CAMP PREPARATION When packing your child s bag for camp please ensure that you include these items so we can have a fun safe time both on and off the water! Sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen Swimsuit, towel and shoes that can get wet PRE & POST CAMP CARE INFORMATION The Fairway Gorge Paddling Club will be offering pre and post camp care for parents. An additional flat rate of $30 will be added to the camp price total if childcare is required either before, after, or at both times throughout the week. Pre-camp care starts at 8:00 am and post camp care runs until 5:00 pm. Please CHECK the answer to the following question: Care Time Required: PRE POST BOTH A change of clothes and lots of layers A big lunch, snacks, and a water bottle with an ice pack in case things are left in the sun Any medication your child may require (including an epi-pen if necessary) We will be going to the Crystal Pool on Thursdays so please send along any personal swimming gear your child requires. Life jackets will be provided. We will try to get out on the water rain or shine, but in cases of extreme rain or wind we will provide indoor activities. Please be sure to pack rain gear for those grey days.
