A special thanks to all of our members whom participated in the social events as well as the golf tournaments. Thank you to the staff for their long days and nights of hard work during the summer months and especially for the member guest weekend. Special thanks to Marshall Brown & staff on great course conditions; with the adversity of summer heat, humid, dry and on occasions some wet conditions as well. The AAU National Championship was held in July for the last of a three year commitment. Families from across the southeast were here enjoying our golf course and community. You can t imagine how many people expressed such wonderful comments about our course, facilities, and warm hospitality from our staff. Events like these have been vital for our club s revenue and have been great for the community s businesses as well. We will continue in our quest to host events such as the AAU, high school districts and regional events. As the summer months come to a close and school begins the first week of August, remember there's still time for the family to enjoy the outdoor amenities at our club. The swimming pool continues to be the place to be for cooling on hot days, and will be open right through Labor Day weekend. Whether you enjoy golf, tennis, swimming, or just a relaxing day on the grounds with good friends and food, we're always eager to see & to serve you. We all have much for which to be thankful for regarding our club. We need to continue to let others know what a great asset we are to this community. As we continue to consider our future offerings as a full service country club we must clearly identify what is relevant to the value in the services being offered and the price members are willing to pay. 2 Membership News From the Membership s Director Desk Bethany Thomas, Membership Director Friends, it's been an awesome summer and I have so enjoyed working for and meeting each of you!! I have been transitioning my membership responsibilities to Jack Wilson this month as I have accepted a new position in the field in which I have my education and most work experience. It was a tough decision, but one that was best for my family. Jack will do a phenomenal job and I know each of you will support him just as you have me! I'll still be seeing you around the club as our family's love for and loyalty to Link Hills remains unchanged!! See you at Member-Guest!! Thursday Family Nights Thursday nights this season are all about family! Spend the day at the pool and then let us take care of dinner! Every Thursday evening enjoy some family friendly fun in the 19th Hole while treating yourself to some great family comfort food - New Specials every week! And remember, you don't have to have kids to come spend some time with us ---at 'The Links' we are ALL family! 3 Hospitality News Hospitality News Happy August! Seems like just yesterday we were welcoming the start of Spring with the annual Easter Egg Hunt. July has been chocked full of fun. The weather has been nearly perfect and made for some great golf and swimming. With the coming of August we welcome the much anticipated Member-Guest Golf Weekend and hope you are taking full advantage of this time honored Link Hills tradition. Whether its the golf, the food, the dancing, or a healthy combination of all - its the camaraderie and fellowship that distinguishes this event above all the rest. In addition to the Member-Guest Weekend, we will be hosting many other golf events in August. Among them the Partnership Tournament, our own Club Championship, the Exchange Club, ETSGA, Farm Bureau and Greeneville High School Golf Events. We also will welcome back 'The Newcomers Club', and once again Link Hills will be hosting the 'Package Express Farm Week'. Additionally, there will be two wedding receptions and a charity luncheon to benefit cancer research. As always, the food and beverage team will be providing amazing food every weekend and the Thursday Family Bingo Night continues to grow in popularity. Don't forget, the rescheduled "Luau at The Links" will round out the month on August 22nd. Special musical guest Mark Larkins will return with his own island-inspired music. Please make plans to join us at "The Luau"! Lastly, but certainly not least - A very huge congratulations to one of our newest members! Mr. Tracy Solomon, was awarded the 2014 Small Business Person of the Year for Tennessee. Mr. Solomon is the owner of TEVET, "a value-added reseller and distributor of electronic test and measurement equipment. Its varied customers include government agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense, and major corporations such as Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman." The Greeneville Sun newspaper quotes Tracy as saying, " A few years ago I was working out of my basement,... We risked everything. Tracy now joins a legacy of Greeneville business leaders, and we are very proud and honored to count him, and his wife, Patty, among our Link Hills family. This was Ken's fourth year of competition at the Annual Earnest Hemingway Look-Alike Scholarship Contest. Every year, Ken's generosity of spirit puts Greeneville on the map!

August 27 th. The Drive, Putt & Chip finals is held at Augusta National prior to the Masters Golf Tournament in Grounds Report I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few individuals that have made a contributions to our golf course. First, I would like to thank Elliott Stott for supplying the materials to redo our steps on the #6,8,9 tee box complexes. We have completed #8 with plans to finish the other 2 as time allows. I would also like to thank Kevin Kinser for purchasing our new putting green cups, and Bob Leonard for our new flags for the greens. Again, A BIG THANK YOU!! 6 Member-Guest News Mark your calendars for August 1-3, It is once again that most anticipated time of the Summer - The Link Hills Annual Member-Guest Weekend! Please make plans to join in the festivities of this time honored golfing tradition. If you have not already signed up, please do so as soon as possible. Also remember, even if you are not a golfer, there is no reason to not come share the weekend with your Link Hills family. Both the Friday night cocktail party and the Saturday evening dinner/dance are open to all members. Please just call in your reservation so we know to expect you! While here, do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a complementary chair massage (complete with a glass of champagne too)! If you prefer, Jeannine will have her own privacy tent on hand and you can schedule a full massage! Just check with Jeannine on a time and rates. We can't think of a better way to enjoy an afternoon!
