August 15, 2017 We are pleased to invite you to the 26th Annual Dennis Ewing Cup Invitational.

In 1963, the Club hosted the 45th PGA Championship, which was won by a 21 year old phenom by the name of Jack Nicklaus.

Jack returned to DAC in 1985 and 1988 to redesign both of our golf courses that now are Jack Nicklaus Signature Designs.

To be considered for acceptance into this year s final field, please visit our website at www.dallasathleticclub.

Entries will be limited to Mid-Amateur teams (Under 50) and Senior Teams (Age 50+). Please take a moment to send in your request to play.

2 August 15, 2017 We are pleased to invite you to the 26th Annual Dennis Ewing Cup Invitational. This year s event will be held November 9 12, 2017 at on the Blue and Gold golf courses. DAC has a long and noble golf history. In 1963, the Club hosted the 45th PGA Championship, which was won by a 21 year old phenom by the name of Jack Nicklaus. This year marks the 51st Anniversary of the 1963 PGA Championship. Jack returned to DAC in 1985 and 1988 to redesign both of our golf courses that now are Jack Nicklaus Signature Designs. DAC has also hosted many Championships including the Texas State Amateur and the USGA Mid-Amateur. To be considered for acceptance into this year s final field, please visit our website at and complete the entry form on line for you and your partner on or before the deadline of October 7, Entries will be limited to Mid-Amateur teams (Under 50) and Senior Teams (Age 50+). Please take a moment to send in your request to play. We re anticipating a full field early this fall. We will notify you of your acceptance in the Tournament on or before October 16, The golf courses are always in excellent condition for this tournament. Tournament History The Dennis Ewing Cup originated over 25 years ago and has attracted some of the top amateurs in the Southwest.

The DAC Blue and Gold Courses were originally designed by Texas Golf Hall of Fame Architect Ralph Plummer in 1954.

The Golf Courses natural features include bent grass greens, a variety of bunkers and 419 Bermuda fairways.

3 Tournament History The Dennis Ewing Cup originated over 25 years ago and has attracted some of the top amateurs in the Southwest. The 54 hole better ball event will be held on both Blue and Gold golf courses which are rich in tradition. Notably, the Blue Course hosted the 1963 PGA Championship which was won by Jack Nicklaus. The DAC Blue and Gold Courses were originally designed by Texas Golf Hall of Fame Architect Ralph Plummer in Jack Nicklaus was commissioned in the mid 1980 s to perform major renovations and redesign work to both courses. Mr. Nicklaus was also consulted on the latest course update in The Golf Courses natural features include bent grass greens, a variety of bunkers and 419 Bermuda fairways. There are eight lakes and many mature tree-lined fairways which provide a variety of scenes and challenging golf shots on every hole. Eligibility By invitation only. Entrants must have a handicap index of 4 or less, with the team total not to exceed 8. Must be 25 years of age and above. Invitations The field will be limited to Mid-Am teams and Senior Teams (age 50+)by invitation. A waiting list will be established after completion of the field. Tournament Registration Contestants are strongly encouraged to register on Thursday, November 9th. The registration desk will be open from 8:00am - 7:00pm that day in the Golf Shop. Otherwise, all contestants must register in the Golf Shop prior to their assigned tee time for the opening round.
