1 Hello All, The time is nearing for the 10 th Annual Tug Valour Memorial Golf Tournament, to be held on May 1st of 2015 at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Florida. We invite you out for a memorable day of Golf and Remembrance. My team has been working diligently to make the 10 th Annual Tournament a special day, and an event with added attractions, awards and levels of sponsorships. The TVMGT has become a very popular event to attend or participate in. Last year we had over 250 registered golfers. We anticipate a complete sellout of 288 golfers this year. We want to share this special event with all our long time and new supporters. For this reason, we suggest confirming your registration or sponsorship early. Foremost, the importance of the TVMGT is to remember the tragedy that occurred on January 18, 2006, the day we lost three of our co-workers, friends and family members. Fred Brenner, Ron Emory and Richard Smoot - their lives will never be forgotten. The memories of these three seafarers live on through all of your generous support and donations over the past nine years. Your support and donations have enabled us to raise over 700,000 dollars toward 51 Scholarships at the (5) Maritime Academies as well as 21 Apprenticeships. For this, we will be forever grateful. We look forward to seeing you on May 1 st as we work hard to make this day worth your time and effort to attend or be a sponsor. In 2007, the B.E.S.T. Center, located near the entrance to the Port of Tampa, was dedicated to the memory of Fred Brenner, Ron Emory, and Richard Smoot. A stone monument dedicated to the Tug Valour crew rests outside the front entrance. You too can add to the memorial walkway at the B.E.S.T Center. Dedicated to the memory of Fred Brenner, Ron Emory and Richard Smoot, the Training Center is utilized for mariner training, seminars and shoreside meetings.
