Because at Sport Central, we don t just give kids bikes and sports equipment. We give them opportunity to be part of a team, and a chance to feel like they belong, whether it be in a new country or simply on a new soccer team. With a 10-1 ratio for every dollar you give we turn it into $10 worth of gear at retail prices that s about $3.25 million worth of equipment. It s been a huge privilege for me to play growing up and has become a big part of my life. St. Louis Blues defenceman Colton Parayko I love being involved with Sport Central because of what they do for kids who might not get the chance to participate in the sport we all love. I remember the sacrifices my parents made for me. Anything we can do to help kids get involved is worthwhile. Hall of Fame goalie Grant Fuhr You just have to see the look on a young person s face when they re trying on a pair of skates, or getting fitted with some gear at Sport Central. 4 MARK SPECTOR GOLF CLASSIC 2017 TOURNAMENT PARTNERSHIP 3 THE CAUSE Sport Central was formed in 1991 by a group of community-minded individuals who wanted to see children in need have access to necessary sport equipment and have the opportunity to participate in the sport of their choice. The primary objective is to gather, recycle and redistribute equipment to those kids who cannot afford the opportunity to play.
