Tax ID # Dear Annual Events Sponsor, Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption is proud to host our annual Ride for Their Lives cycling event, the second weekend of May, Putts for Mutts Golf Tournament, the Saturday of Fathers Day Weekend in June and Run for Their Lives 5K/10K, the last weekend in August to be held in Sanford, North Carolina. These are the premier events of the year to celebrate the special bond between person and pup or kids and kittens or whatever furry, feathery or fluffy friend you call family. By being an event s sponsor, you will be one of the select few members of our community that makes a tremendous impact on the lives of unwanted companion animals throughout the state. CARA s mission to feed, house and care for abandoned or unwanted companion animals is just the beginning of our job. Our team of volunteers rescue and place hundreds of animals in homes each year. Members of our Board of Directors work with the Humane Society of the United States in their efforts to lobby for animal rights and promote key legislation on a state level. For ten years, CARA has worked closely with local government to provide research, initiate a spay/neuter program and act as an animal welfare liaison, providing resources for all members of our community. The citizens have spoken and government has responded. The gas chambers have been eliminated and animal control ordinances rewritten. These new ordinances will provide proper treatment of dogs, housing standards, tethering regulations, eliminate puppy mills and allow for the prosecution of animal cruelty. CARA is working with national organizations to help strengthen the animal welfare community, update bilingual education and awareness literature, and continue to provide advocacy in the region and the state to move towards a no-kill community.
