1 9 Hole Division Boys and Girls Must be ages 8 13 as of June 1 st, 2018 Once again we will be holding our Developmental Program at Little Creek Golf Course in Spring Grove. This year however, we will not be holding a qualifying tournament the first week. If your child played in the A division last year, he or she will report to Regents Glen the first week. The Developmental Tour will begin at 8:45 sharp every Tuesday at Little Creek. The A division tee times will start at approximately 7:30 at the Tour Course location. Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in the A division. Participants in the A division will be expected to play your 9 holes in two hours and fifteen minutes or less. 18 Hole Divisions Open to both Boys and Girls BLUE: Must be ages as of June 1 st, Open to all boys and girls who can consistantly shoot an 18 hole score of 99 and lower from the blue tees. WHITE: Must be ages as of June 1 st, Open to all boys and girls who can consistantly shoot an 18 hole score of 115 and lower from the white tees. GREEN: Must be ages 14 and under as of June 1 st, Open to all boys who can consistantly shoot an 18 hole score of 120 or better from the white tees. RED: Girls ages 18 & under as of June 1 st, Open to girls who can consistantly shoot an 18 hole score of 120 and lower from the red tees. Tee times will start at 8:00 for 18 hole participants. Any local rules will be discussed on the first tee. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in all 18 hole divisions. Participants in ALL 18 HOLE DIVISIONS will be EXPECTED to play your 18 holes in FOUR HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES.

2 1. Playing Groups The Tour Director will assign players to the appropriate playing group. If a girl prefers, she may compete with the boys by playing the same tees and age group. Movement may occur mid-season. 2. Withdrawal prior to a Tournament To change your status in a tournament, please leave a message at the scoreboard area during a previous event. If you have a last-minute change, call Mr. Skelly at We suggest you put this number in your phone now. If you do not show up for your tee time, you will not be allowed to play in future events unless a parent can show just cause for the no-show. 3. Withdrawal during a Tournament No player is allowed to withdraw during a tournament unless there is a definite medical situation or just cause. Approval for a withdrawal can only come from the Tour Director. Under no circumstances should a player simply walk off the course because he/she is unhappy with his/her score, or for any reason other than illness. The penalty for an infraction of this rule will be that the player will not be permitted to play in his/her next scheduled tournament. The YCJGA takes a strong stance on this situation because we are committed to the safety of each player and the integrity of all scores, as well as the building of character in adverse situations. 4. Arrival Time You should arrive 30 minutes before your tee time. If you are late for your tee time, you may not be allowed to play that day. Notify the Tournament Director immediately. 5. Dress Code The dress code is proper golf attire. No blue jeans, cut-off shorts, do-rags, tank tops, or tee shirts without collars are allowed. Golf shoes with soft spikes or sneakers are required. Hats may not be worn backwards, and shirts must be tucked in (therefore a belt would be helpful). Golf shirts with mock necks may be worn. Any golfer breaching these rules will not be allowed to play that day. 6. Event Rules All play is according to the USGA Rules of Golf. Unless conditions require otherwise ALL players will play the ball as it lies (summer rules) Laser Rangefinders (DISTANCE ONLY) and GPS devices will be allowed to assist players during their round. 7. Speed of Play Always play ready golf and keep up with the group in front. Our goal is 4 hour and 15 minute rounds. Slow players will be assessed a one stroke penalty for the first offense and a two-stroke penalty for subsequent offenses during a tournament. 8. Etiquette Any unsportsmanlike conduct, including loud/abusive language or throwing of any equipment, will not be tolerated. All tournaments will be tobacco-free (includes parents) and is regardless of player age. All players must respect the course, their playing partners, and tournament officials. Any player breaching these rules will be assessed a two stroke penalty for the first offense and disqualified for the second offense in a tournament. Cell phones should be off and are not to be used during the round. All ball marks should be repaired and divots filled. 9. Caddies, Carts, and Spectators Caddies are not permitted in regular tour events. Caddies are allowed at the match play but cannot be a golfer s legal guardian. Pull/push carts will be allowed for all divisions. Spectators must observe players from a distance of 30 yards and may not walk the fairways, keep score for a player or interpret rules. Parents may help search for errant shots. Any player who has finished his/her round may be a spectator but must follow the same rules. Golf carts for spectators are rented at the courses discretion. Players may NOT ride in a cart during any tournament. Only when EVACUATING a course during severe weather or when a designated volunteer is transporting from a green to the next tee is a player allowed to ride in a cart. Failure to comply to the cart rule will result in immediate disqualification. 10. Scores All players are responsible for a correct scorecard, which must include the player s and scorer s signature. The scorer is responsible for the accuracy of the player s scores. All strokes must be counted and honesty is expected at all times. Penalties can vary from additional strokes to disqualification in the present tournament or expulsion from all events. This is entirely up to the Tournament Director and the YCJGA Board. Frequent observations will be made by adult officials of all players. Players must wait by the scoreboard until the score is posted. Players who are eligible for an award must wait until they are awarded. 11. Weather Policy Safety is our major concern. When thunderstorms, lightning or extreme heat are forecast or simply occur, parents should check our Facebook page and ycjgatour.com for event cancellations. A weather delay of more than 60 minutes will likely cancel the rest of the event. If all players in a division have played more than 9 holes, but fewer than 18, the tournament will be scored as a 9-hole tournament. If all players in a division have not completed 9 holes, the tournament will be declared a no contest. DURING SUSPENSION OF PLAY, PLAYERS WILL BE DIRECTED TO MOVE INDOORS IMMEDIATELY, AND NO ONE MAY LEAVE THE SAFETY AREA. In the event of a cancellation, refunds of greens fees will be made at the end of the season. 4 In the YCJGA Tour divisions there will be a Fed-Ex Cup style point system. Players are awarded points based on their finish after each event. This point system will determine our champions in all divisions and decide the War of the Roses team. Good Luck!! June 2 July 30 & 31 July 30 August 4 August 6 September 22 BYRON MARKLE MEMORIAL at Hanover CC GEORGE BARTON MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP at Grandview GC The top 16 boys from the Blue Division and the top 8 girls from the Red Division. In order to be eligible, players must compete in a minimum of 3 events. NON-QUALIFIER EVENT at Briarwood West GC This event is for all Divisions and Tour Players who did not qualify for the season ending match play event. If the event is paid for and the player qualifies for the match play, your entry fee will be refunded. YCJGA YEAR END TOURNAMENT at Grandview GC (1:30 Start) Scholarships will be given out and the War of the Roses team will be officially announced. 15 TH ANNUAL JR WAR OF THE ROSES at Meadia Heights CC Tour players must compete in a minimum of 3 events to be eligible. The top seven boys in points from ages 16 17, the top three boys from ages 15 & under and the top point earner from the girls division will automatically qualify. There will also be one pick from each division. These three picks will be decided by the Tour Directors. Glow Golf YCJGA Fundraiser Tournament at Grandview GC The Developmental Tour returns for its third season. Open to kids ages 8 13, this program is geared to provide lessons from the basics of the golf swing, putting, chipping and even etiquette. This group is known as the B Division. Little Creek will once again be our host facility with PGA Professional Jeff Van Etten handling instruction, along with Wayne Jacobs and Tom Long. These three instructors will evaluate the progress of all students. The B Division will run from 8:45 11:15 every Tuesday. Our program this year will consist of three 15-minute instructional stations. Followed by playing time. This year we will be using the back nine. Be sure to arrive early and get checked in. We are very excited to bring the Developmental Tour back again this year. We strive to help continue growing the game of golf in York County.

5 PGA Professional Mike Skelly and new president Brian Leib continue to take the YCJGA Tour in the right direction. This year we have eight events scheduled. The eighth event will be the nonpoints event that we will have again for the players that weren t eligible to play in the match play. This year we will be back to Briarwood West for this event. We will be leading off our season with the Byron Markle Memorial. Byron played high school golf for Dallastown and participated in YCJGA and YCAGA events. He passed away in an automobile accident in Penn State on September 9, This year s event will be held at Hanover CC. Our season year end fun scramble will be held at Grandview GC on August 4. Also, this year, we will have a Glow Golf fundraiser, also being held at Grandview GC. We will have information on these events as we get closer. Tee times will start at 8:00 a.m. each week (July 9 th event at Hanover CC will start at 9:00). Players should arrive 30 minutes early and check-in at registration. Tee times will be posted on ycjgatour.com, Facebook and also ed to all participants. This year we are proud to announce the newly added Bob Blecher Boys & Girls Junior Golf Championship. With the passing of Briarwood course owner Bob Blecher, this opens up the door for YCJGA to honor him for what he has done for junior golf in our area. We have teamed up with the York County Men s Amateur Golf Association to run this tournament. This championship, along with the Mid-Summer Classic, will be a double points event. We feel this tournament is going to be popular enough to justify double points. Please note that there is a separate entry form for this event. The event is listed on the registration, but you must send in the separate entry. We will also have a college division entry for this tournament. This event, which was established in 2016, will once again be held at the prestigious Out Door Country Club. The Tour would like to extend many thanks to Jason Gebhart and his staff for their continued support in making this event successful. We will once again be giving double points to all divisions. This course will make for exciting golf and is always a great event. We strongly encourage parents to come out and show support to all golfers. And also enjoy a walk at one of the finest facilities in York County.
