1 MURRIETA MEN'S GOLF CLUB TOURNAMENT POLICY SIGNING UP The Tournament Chairman should receive all requests for sign-ups and pairings no later than the cutoff date that is published in the tournament schedule on the club website On the day following the published cutoff date, the Information Services Chairman will post the sign-up list on the website. Members should check the website to insure that their names are on the list. If their names are not shown, or possibly overlooked, the member should contact the Tournament Chairman in order to sign up for play. The Tournament Chairman will complete the pairings for the upcoming tournament, along with the handicaps of the members signed up. This information will be sent to the Information Services Chairman at least one day prior to the tournament. The day before each tournament, the Information Services Chairman will post sign-up information, and the pairings on the website. The Tournament Chairman will select a default tee for a tournament. The goal is to keep the total length of the default tees under or near 6000 yards. Handicaps will be calculated based on the players current index and the course slope for the default tees. Players may play one tee forward or one tee back from the default tee (if they exist). Course handicaps for the optional tees will be calculated for each player based on the slope and rating of the optional tee relative to the default tee. All of the handicaps for each player and each tee option will be provided at the sign in table at the course. Players must mark their tee selection and course handicap on their official score card. If a player fails to mark their card it will be assumed they played the default tee. Members should check MMGC's website for the latest information about tournament dates, fees, pairings and start times. After a tournament, members should again check the website for the results and point totals. This information is available in the Tournament Schedule section of the website. As schedules and times can change during the year, members without Internet access should contact the Tournament Chairman. This should be done three days prior to a tournament to verify their information. Each player is responsible for notifying the Tournament Chairman if a cancellation is necessary. If a member cannot reach the Tournament Chairman, he should call the course pro shop starter, and have him relay the message to the Tournament Chairman. Members may bring guests to any tournament. The guest will only need to pay the green fee for that tournament, plus the MMGC administration fee. The guest will not be eligible for prize money. Any guest who participates in more than three tournaments in a calendar year will be expected to join the club. Check in is ½ hour ( minimum ) prior to your tee time. Check in with the Tournament Chairman immediately upon your arrival, so that an accurate headcount can be determined well in advance of the start of play. Do not start play without checking in.

2 TOURNAMENT PLAY It is the policy of the club to honor pairing requests. In certain situations where there are last minute cancellations or additions, it may be necessary for the Tournament Chairman to modify the pairings. Members, by signing up for a tournament, agree to abide by the decision of the Tournament Chairman regarding pairings. Members who do not agree to a pairing change will be disqualified from the tournament and will forfeit their tournament fee. Page 1 A member who is disqualified from a tournament is not eligible for the prize money for that tournament. However, members who withdraw or disqualify themselves from a tournament, remain eligible to receive a closest to the pin award should they qualify on a hole they played prior to the withdrawal or disqualification. Also, any member with a hole-in-one during a tournament will be eligible for the hole-in-one prize money, if the hole-in-one occurs prior to their withdrawal or disqualification. For out of bounds or lost balls ( except for a lost ball in a lateral hazard ), you must replay from the point you last hit. Penalty; stroke and distance, ( two strokes total ). You may not just drop a ball and continue. If you do, you are required to X out and are disqualified from the tournament. The club has one special rule: If your ball is in a bare spot in the fairway, you can move the ball to the closest fairway grass, no nearer the hole. Also, the latest USGA rule allows you to take relief from sprinkler heads near the putting surface. The sprinkler heads must be within two club lengths of the putting surface, and your ball must be within one club length of the sprinkler heads. Line of relief can only be sufficient to allow a clear path to your target, no nearer the hole. All players are responsible for their own scores, and at least two members of each group, or foursome must sign or initial the official scorecard for each tournament. Failure to do so will disqualify the entire group or foursome for that tournament. For both team and individual play, incorrect scores will also be cause for disqualification. For individual play, only the incorrect scores will be disqualified, and the other players in the group, or foursome are not affected. Check the official scorecard before signing. Do not assume that the scorekeeper's entries are correct. All players must post their own, adjusted scores. Make any adjustments from your gross score, not your net, using Equitable Stroke Control ( ESC ). If you do not know how to properly adjust your score, or how to post, ask another club member or someone in the Pro shop. All putts must be holed. There are no gimmies. Missed backhand putts must be counted. The Tournament Chairman will settle any disputes. Play ready golf. Slow play affects everyone. REGULAR TOURNAMENTS AND PRIZES Regular tournaments will be one net flight. The number of prizes for regular tournaments will be approximately 25% to 30%, dependent on the number of participants in the tournament. Prizes are awarded in cash and are based on net scores only.

3 In case of ties, ( except the Club Championship which requires a playoff for 1 st ), points and prize money for the tied places will be averaged, and awarded to those tied. Example: Two tied for second would share 2 nd and 3 rd place money, and so on. There will be no card-offs for ties, except for last place. A last place tie payoff will be one place only, decided by the standard card-off format. In addition to the tournament prizes, $5 will be awarded to the members whose shot lands closest to the pin on the par 3's during a regular tournament. If a CTP winner manages to birdie their CTP hole, an additional $5 will be awarded. Prizes are given out at the monthly General Meetings and at subsequent tournaments. Prizes not claimed within six months of being won will be returned to the club. Page 2 MAJOR TOURNAMENTS AND PRIZES The clubs major tournaments are, the President's Cup, the Club Championship, and the Tournament of Champions. To be eligible for a major tournament, a member must have played in at least three tournaments in the current calendar year, prior to the major tournament and have an established official current SCGA handicap. All rounds played in these major tournaments must be posted as a Tournament Round, not an Away Round. Double ACCUM points are awarded for all major tournaments. The Club Champion will be the overall low net winner for the tournament and will be awarded an individual trophy or plaque. All winners will receive cash prizes. The overall net winner will also be awarded a bonus prize of $30. The second overall net winner will receive a bonus prize of $20. If there is a tie for the Championship, there will preferably be a sudden death playoff immediately following the tournament. Sudden death holes to be played, or some other arrangement if necessary, will be determined by the Tournament Chairman. The President's Cup winners and ACCUM points are the same as for a regular tournament, as per the format noted below. The overall low net winner will also be awarded a bonus prize of $30. The second overall low net winner will be awarded a bonus prize of $20. The Tournament of Champions winners and ACCUM points will be awarded per the Tournament of Champions format noted below. The overall 1 st place winner will also be awarded a bonus prize of $30. The second place winner will receive a bonus of $20. Qualification for the Tournament of Champions. Tournaments with 31 players or less would qualify the top 4 players and ties. Tournaments with 32 to 47 players would qualify the top 6 players and ties. Tournaments with 48 players or more would qualify the top 8 and ties. OTHER TOURNAMENTS AND PRIZES An optional ACCUM cash prize fund may be set up for qualifying members who accumulate the most points throughout the calendar year. To be eligible a member must contribute $10 a year to the fund. Members must contribute to the fund no later than the date of the February General Meeting. New members joining the club anytime during the year can elect to contribute to, and participate in the points fund within 30 days after joining the club. The prize amounts and number of places paid, is dependent upon how many members contribute to the fund. The fund will only be

4 implemented if a reasonable number of members sign up. ACCUM points are awarded for regular club tournaments depending on the number of players ( special outings are not included ). At years end, in case of ties, the player with the most wins will be declared the winner. If the number of wins does not settle the tie, the player with the most second place points will be declared the winner. If still tied, it will be third place points. If still tied, the winner will be the one finishing the most tournaments. ( Withdrawals, X-outs and disqualifications will not count ). If these tie breakers still do not determine a winner, the prize money will be split evenly among those tied. Page 3 Another optional cash prize fund is set up to reward a qualifying member scoring a hole-in-one. The hole-in-one must be accomplished during a regular club tournament ( special outings are not included ). To be eligible a member must contribute $2 each year to the fund. If a member wins the prize, he will receive all the money in the fund. Once the funds are disbursed, members must again contribute $2 to make them eligible for the prize money for the balance of the year ( or another hole-inone ). Only members qualifying for a club tournament, are eligible to win the hole-in-one prize money. To ease the burden of the traditional buying of drinks after a hole-in-one, the club will pay for up to $75 worth of drinks as long as the prize pot is less than $200. From time to time team games are scheduled. If the number of sign-ups do not result in an equal number of players on each team, the Tournament Chairman will designate a members score to be utilized in place of the missing player. This selection shall be made by blind draw prior to the tournament. If more than one player is required to fill out the teams, a separate blind draw shall be made for each player required. The blind draw members score, is a convenience only, used for scoring purposes. The actual blind draw player does not participate in any payoffs, other than those won by his assigned team. For two man, or four man best ball team tournaments, the maximum handicap allowed per player will be limited to thirty six ( 36 ) strokes, as recommended by the SCGA. There will be no stroke limits in net play, and handicaps will be determined entirely by a players current index, and the slope of the tees played. Pairing requests will not be honored for team play, unless the overall total team handicap approximates that as set up for the other teams, by the Tournament Chairman. Match Play tournaments may, or may not, be conducted during the year. See the Match Play tournament rules on the website for complete details. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top four finishers in the Champions and Consolation brackets. If any Match Play tournaments are held, winners will be awarded four points for 1 st place, three points for 2 nd place, two points for 3 rd place and one point for 4 th place.
