2 About the Jake Kislan 56 Memorial Golf Tournament Excitement is growing and we are going to have a great time at the 10th Annual Jake Kislan 56 Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Valley Country Club. Our tournament offers a great course, great food, and the promise of a fun afternoon with friends and classmates, current clients, or new ones! I hope you can join us on the links, Kim McNulty Director of Advancement JAKE KISLAN 56 In 2009, MMI chose to rename its annual golf tournament to honor long-time athlete and 1956 graduate Jake Kislan, who passed away in December Jake was a superior athlete at MMI in both baseball and basketball. In his senior year, he was selected as the region s top basketball guard and helped lead the Preppers to the Anthracite League Championship with a 21-4 record. When basketball season ended, Jake began preparing for the baseball season as a pitcher for the MMI Preppers. After graduation, Jake played semi-professional baseball and was scouted by the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies. Jake s natural athletic ability was also evident in fast-pitch softball, as he was named the all-star shortstop after playing in both the Freeland and Hazleton fast-pitch leagues. Jake s involvement in the sports community resulted in a number of significant contributions to the region such as the Drifton, PA Softball Complex one of the premier facilities for softball in the country. Additionally, Jake was instrumental in bringing the U.S. Olympic Games women s fast-pitch team to Drifton in Special thanks to Mickey Kislan for her ongoing support of this event!

3 Schedule for Friday, June 8, :30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Registration and Lunch Arrive and drop your clubs at the bag drop area to the left as you pull into VCC s parking lot. Register and pick up your golf shirt, sponsored by Premier Catering, on the patio at The 19th Hole. Ge t your Mulligans for $10 each, maximum two per player. Mulligans cannot be used to claim the Hole in One prize. Check out the MMI Raffle Prize Boards and buy your raffle tickets. $5 for 1 ticket, $10 for 3 tickets, $20 for 10 tickets. Enjoy the lunch buffet in The 19th Hole. 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Tournament Events Tee off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. This Tournament is a Scramble and you must use each person s drive at least twice. Two beverage carts will be available all afternoon with unlimited beer, soda, Gatorade, water, and snacks. Ho le #1-Pro for Hire $20 to use a pro shot taken from the red tee box! A Pro for Hire drive can be counted as one player s drive! Hole #2-Closest to the Pin Hole #5-What the Duck? $10 per shot (or 3 shots for $20) to enter our mystery surprise chipping contest!! Make the chip and win a chance at the grand prize! Hole #6-Shoot the Green $20 to shoot our new golf ball canon. Aim for the green on this par 5 hole! If you re unhappy with your first shot, we ll throw in the second shot for free!! Hole #7-Most Accurate Drive Hole #8-Longest Men s Drive Hole #9-Tennis Anyone?
