2 Gentlemen, Annually the Tournament Committee and Professional Golf Staff anxiously look forward to our Men s Member Guest Event. Based upon member feedback we look to offer a competitive and memorable golf experience through continuous improvement. The Tournament Committee is pleased to provide to you this year s entry form. We are very excited to announce a new tradition in the making through our partnership with Omni Amelia Island Plantation and their desire to become a Co-Sponsor. Here are some of the highlights: Both Long Point and Oak Marsh courses will be utilized, thus expanding our potential field of players. An optional practice round will be offered at Long Point on Wednesday, October 9 th. Wednesday night s Stag Night will return to Walker s Landing, hosted by the Club. During the reception we will offer the Titleist / Foot Joy Experience. New this year, in an effort to provide more flexibility to you, the Titleist / FootJoy Experience, a $150 value, can be waived from your entry fee if you so choose. Optional events for spouses will be added to the week s activities by both the Club and Omni. The Championship Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 12 th, in the Amelia Island Executive Conference Center and hosted by Omni. We look forward to welcoming your spouse. 5 Entry Attached is your invitation to the 2013 Amelia Island Club Men s Member- Guest tournament. To register, please complete the attached entry form and return it to the Long Point Golf Shop. Entry fee per team is $850 Full Golf / $990 all other membership categories, which will be charged to your membership account.. If your team elects to waive the Titleist and FootJoy Gift Experience, then the entry fee will be a total of $150 less based upon membership category. Entries will be accepted beginning August 9 th for all membership categories. The field will be limited to the first 72 teams entered. Each member must turn in a completed entry form at the time of registration. No entry will be accepted unless completely filled out. Full Golf Member with Titleist/ Foot Joy Gift Package: $ Full Golf Member with NO Titleist/ Foot Joy Gift Package: $ Social Member with Titleist/Foot Joy Gift Package: $ Social Member with NO Titleist/Foot Joy Gift Package: $ Tournament Format This year s event will be a Net Best Ball of Two match play event. Each team will play six nine-hole matches against all teams within their flight. Teams will be assigned to flights of four teams each. The assignment of flights will be determined by the total handicap index of the team, and the committee may look at flighting based upon tee selection as the number of teams permits. Maximum handicap allowed will be 36. All players must have a current USGA Handicap (scores posted within the last six months). Members must have a Long Point handicap. Handicap indexes will be verified in advance for all players. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust handicaps based on exceptional tournament performance during the event. Each hole won is worth one point, with a half point going to each team in a tie. Flight winners will be the team with the most points won. Each match will be worth a maximum of nine points. A maximum of five points will be awarded in the event of an opponent s team forfeit. Team Handicaps Each player may carry a 36 handicap maximum based on the tee that each player may choose. For the tournament each player may choose either the BLUE tees or the WHITE tees; once this tee selection is made the player must play from this tee for the remainder of the golf tournament. Both players DO NOT have to play from the same tee.
