1 HOW TO CREATE AND SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY CREATING YOUR DESIGN Fancy yourself as a budding fashion designer? Well here s your chance to let your creativity burst out and onto your very own tee. Create your own tee that is as individual and unique as you are and we ll have the winning design made for you to show all your friends and family. What s more the tee (which we ll name after you) will join the rest of the FREE by Cotton On collection online so the rest of world can own a piece of your work (before you become a famous fashion designer!) All proceeds will go to help teens in Uganda. Remember your design must be your own original and creative artwork. Feel free to use some of the artwork that we have supplied for you to use but do not use other people s work in your creation. Be sure to tell ALL your friends, family and internet pals to rate every design. The 5 entries with the most votes are guaranteed a place on the judging panel s shortlist. 2 HOW TO ENTER 1. You ve downloaded the entry pack good start! 2. Make sure you have your parent s consent to enter and that they have read the boring bits on the entry form (the terms of participation). 3. Draw, paint, colour, squiqqle or paste your design onto the t-shirt template on the following pages. Your design must be original, creative and with artistic merit. 4. Scan, photograph or save your entry in a JPG or GIF format and then hit the Enter now button back on the competition website. 5. Upload your entry and give it amazeballs title so all your friends can find it! Make sure you re happy with your entry before you upload it - once an entry is uploaded it cannot be further modified or changed by the entrant. 6. Fill in the entry form so that we can contact you if you win! Remember your design must be your own original and creative artwork. 5 TERMS OF PARTICIPATION FOR THE KIDS entries as they wish but must only enter in their own name. No purchase necessary. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Make sure you have your parent s consent to enter and that they have read the following terms of participation. FOR THE MUMS & DADS 1. The promoter of this competition is Cotton On Clothing Pty Ltd (the Promoter ) (ACN ) of 14 Shepherd Court, North Geelong VIC 3215 Australia. 2. Entry into this competition ( the Competition ) is open only to residents of Australia who are between 9 and 15 years of age. All entrants must have their parent/legal guardian enter on their behalf. Employees of the Promoter or its agencies and immediate family members of the Promoter or its agencies are not eligible to enter. 3. By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Promoter may in its discretion refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these terms and conditions. 4. Entry into the Competition is free. No purchase is necessary. 5. The Competition opens at 12pm AEST on 7 March 2013 and closes at 9am AEST on 15 April 2013 ( Competition Period ). Any entry received outside the Competition Period will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed or misdirected entries. 6. To enter the Competition, entrants must correctly complete the official FREE by Cotton On Design a Tee competition entry form and upload an original tee design through the competition site and follow the online directions to submit an entry. Entries must be in a.jpeg or.png format only. The tee graphic design must be original, creative and with artistic merit. Feel free to use some of the artwork that we have supplied for you to use but do not use other people s work in your creation. 7. All entries will be the property of the Promoter. The Promoter may use the name and any tee designs from the entry for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without compensation. In consideration of entering this Competition, each entrant assigns to the Promoter the whole of their copyright (including future copyright) in their entries and tee design and, to the extent permitted by law, waives their moral rights in that entry and tee design. The Promoter may also manipulate the artwork of the winning entrant s tee design in any way in order to meet manufacturing requirements. The information (including personal information) in entries will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this Competition as well as for any purpose for which the Promoter has consent. The Promoter may disclose personal information to its contractors and agents associated with the conduct of this Competition. 8. There will be one (1) winner. Valid entry submissions will be judged by the Promoter s panel of judges ( the Panel ) who will determine the winner. The 5 entrants with the most votes will automatically be submitted into the shortlist that will be compiled by the Judging panel. The winner will be the design judged by the Panel to be the best, most original and creative artwork. Public vote will influence the shortlist but not determine the Panel s decision in selecting the winner. The decision of the Panel is final and no discussions or correspondence will be entered into. 9. The Promoter reserves the right to declare the Competition null and void if the entries received are not of a sufficiently meritorious standard. 10. Entries which contain offensive content or language will be disqualified. 11. Chance plays no part in determining the prize winners. Once an entry is uploaded through the site, it cannot be further modified or changed by the entrant. Entrants must review and accept the terms and conditions regarding submission on the site before their entry will be viewed or considered. Each design submitted to the Promoter, subject to the terms and conditions, shall be considered an entry. Entrants can submit as many unique Free Design A Tee - Download Pack Page 5 of 5

6 copyright works and subject matter comprising the design. Note that any design believed to be in breach of copyright laws will be refused entry and the original creator notified. This applies to trace jobs, character theft and photo manipulations; 12. The prize will consist of: A limited edition print run of the winning tee design. This element of the prize has no approximate retail value, and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfil this element of the prize. The Promoter s only obligation will be to provide the remainder of the prize. The winning tee will be sold as part of our printed tee collection on FREEBYCOTTONON.COM The winning tee will be named after the winning entrant. All proceeds from the winning tee will be donated to the Cotton On Foundation please see more information at cottononfoundation.org/ A $500 Cotton On gift voucher. The winner will have his/her design reproduced on tees which will be sold online at or any of the Promoter s stores. The Promoter will at its sole discretion choose whether to place the winning design on a black or white tee, as well as a male or female style. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The prize of a gift card must be presented and surrendered at time of redemption. The Promoter will not replace this card if it has been lost, stolen, damaged or been used by another person without authorization. Gift card is not to be used in conjunction with any other offer, VIP discount, lay-bys, special promotion or clearance stock items. 13. The name of the prize winner will be announced via the Promoter s website and the winner will be contacted by telephone and by between 15 and 19 April In the event that a prize winner is unable to be contacted after seven days of being announced, the Promoter will choose another winner. Please allow at least 28 days from the date of notification for the delivery of the voucher, and up to 5 months for the limited edition tee. (v) the exercise of the rights granted to the Promoter in these terms and conditions will not infringe the intellectual property rights of any person; and (vi) he/she will indemnify the Promoter against any loss or damage resulting from any breach of these warranties. 15. Entrants are permitted to display their designs on their own website(s), blogs or other internet sites provided they are labelled as a competition entry and linked back to the Promoter s website. 16. If there is any event that prevents or hinders the Promoter s conduct of the competition or the Promoter s ability to deliver the prize to the prize winner, the Promoter may, in its discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner. 17. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the Competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of the Competition. 18. To the full extent permitted by the law, the Promoter and its associated agencies will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or inconsequential) to persons or property as a result of any person entering into the Competition or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation non-receipt of any prize or damage to any prize in transit. 19 The Promoter reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. In the event of such change, notification will be posted on the Promoter s website. 20.
