2 Welcome from our Co-hosts, Doug Flynn & Johnny Bench Hope For The Warriors is an important part of our lives and the lives of military families across the country. Over the years we have looked for ways to contribute our gifts while making a difference in the lives of our heroes the men and women who have sacrificed while serving in our military. All of us have talents that can be used to enhance the lives of these men, women, and families, so come join us for the Hope For The Warriors Invitational and help make a difference in their lives! We will be spending time with these heroes at the annual Hope For The Warriors Invitational (August 20-22, 2017) at River Landing in Wallace, North Carolina. Our time together will be spent playing golf, attending an always memorable Warrior Night dinner, telling and listening to stories, and discovering a Day in the Life of a Marine! 3 History Hope For The Warriors was founded aboard Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, in It was there we witnessed, firsthand, the traumatic effects of war on our families and communities. Mission For more than 10 years, Hope For The Warriors has been dedicated to serving those who have served. We provide a full cycle of care to restore self, family, and hope to post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen. Core Value Hope For The Warriors understands the challenges, pride, and joy of being a military family and we strive to honor the purpose of service. Nationally, Hope For The Warriors provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, caregivers, and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources. 9 A note from Robin Kelleher Co-Founder and President, Hope For The Warriors I want to thank you for sponsoring the Hope For The Warriors Invitational. Your support of this event allows us to continue making an impact on the lives of our service members, veterans, military families, and families of the fallen. The support over the years from the Murphy Family Foundation, River Landing Country Club, Johnny Bench & Doug Flynn, the Military Flag Officers, our event sponsors, and participants, have helped make this annual event one of the most memorable of our signature fundraisers. This multi-day event includes many unique experiences that makes it one not to be missed. Warrior Night kicks off the Invitational. The evening is a borrowed tradition of ceremonial dining. Originally a British Army tradition, it has become an honored ritual of enjoying drinks, good food, and fellowship. But beware! Guests often find themselves in outrageous situations to be levied and fined! There is a serious side too as we pay homage to those who have served and are serving through toasts given by members of the mess. It is a hearty feast, so come prepared to drink and enjoy the camaraderie. The opportunity to take part in a night usually shared by only those in the military, makes this evening unique and special. The following day is the golf tournament and the awards. Experience all that the beautiful River Landing Country Club has to offer with unique experiences not typical to other tournaments. What makes this tournament special is the AR15 golf ball launcher shooting hole, the dessert holes and, most importantly, golfing alongside our nation s heroes. On the third and final day you will get to experience a Day in the Life of a Marine. Visit with Marines who will walk you through their day, from weapons training to mess hall dining you, will receive the full treatment and interact with some incredible American heroes.
