1 2016 MEN S 45 INVITATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT The PVCC Men s Club is pleased to announce the 20th Annual Palm Valley Men s 45 Invitational Golf Tournament on March 17-19, Last year the 45 Tournament was received very well so we are keeping the same format and events with a couple of subtle changes. You can pick up your applications in the pro shop and must be turned in no later than January 10, THURSDAY, March 17, 2016 (Registration & 2-9 Hole Matches) Check in for all members and guests will begin at 10:00am in the clubhouse lobby. We will be taking team photos, giving out tee prizes and collecting monies for all the additional events. There will be a brunch in the main dining room starting at 10:00am. The first 9-hole match will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the second 9-hole match beginning at 2:30pm. At the end of the second match, Palm Valley Country Club will be hosting an open bar along with hors d oeuvres for all the players. FRIDAY, March 18, 2016 (1 9-Hole Match & 9 Hole Team Game) On Friday at 7:30am, a continental breakfast will be served in the main dining room. The next 9-hole match will start at 9:00am. After the round, lunch will be served at 11:30am, again in the main dining room. At 1:00pm we will have the 9 Hole Team 6-Man Scramble on the Challenge Course. 9-HOLE TEAM GAME This is a 6-some Scramble comprised of three member/guest teams, with 3 balls in play. Members and guests will alternate shots within the scramble. Three members tee off on a hole. Then the three guests will play the best of those shots. Continue playing a 3 ball scramble with Members and Guest alternating each shot until holed out. Members tee off on odd number holes, and the guests will tee off on the even numbered holes.

2 Payouts will go to the top 3 teams of two flights. One flight will play on the front nine and the second flight will play on the back nine. The 3 member/guest teams for each team will be decided by the pro shop and will depend on handicaps. NOTE: There are no scheduled events for Friday evening but PVCC has a great Pasta Night Dinner in the clubhouse. Please make your own reservations if you plan to dine there. The dress code is country club casual. SATURDAY, March 19, 2016 (2 9-Hole Matches, Lunch, Specialty Events, Dinner Dance) On Saturday morning, a light breakfast will be served beginning at 6:00am outside on the wedding site by Bogies. The first 9-Hole Match will begin at 7:30am, followed by the second 9-Hole Match starting at 10:00am. Lunch will be served at 12:30pm. Most of the payouts and prizes will be handed out save for the final two events played on Saturday afternoon which will be handed out at the dinner dance. After lunch, starting at 1:30pm the following two events will be going on simultaneously: 1. PUTTING CONTEST- This will take place on the lower practice green. Each participant will have 3 balls to make a 6-7 foot putt. For each putt made, you get a chance at making a long, winding, breaking putt to an enlarged hole. The pot will be split among the players who make this long putt. NOTE: Anyone can buy as many $10/3 balls at the putting green as desired over and above the money collected on Thursday. This money will also go into the pot to be split by those who make the long putt. The winners will split approximately $500.

3 2. PITCHING CONTEST- This will take place at the 10th tee box of the Championship Course. Each participant will get 3 balls and will aim for an island green set up in the lake by the tee box. This will be scored on a point system depending on where on the green the ball lands. Again, anyone can get as many $10/3 ball chances as you wish. All the money collected will go into the pot ( approximately $500.) and will be paid to the top three people who score the most points. AND, it should be noted that we are softening the floating green so that it will be a bit more receptive so that more balls may stay on the green. All participants will adjourn to either the lower chipping area or to the 10th tee of the Championship Course depending on which side of the Challenge course you played on Friday. NOTE: We decided to schedule the teams for putting and chipping as follows in order to cut down the wait time for each event. ************ Front Nine of Challenge course - Report to Putting Contest at lower chipping area. ************ Back nine of Challenge Course - Report to 10th Tee of Championship Course for the Island Green Contest DINNER DANCE At 6:00pm no host cocktails will begin in the bar in the lounge of the clubhouse, followed by the gala dinner and dance in the ballroom. The attire for the evening is COUNTRY CLUB CASUAL. We will have a live orchestra for your enjoyment. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The entry fee for this year s event will be $600 per team which is the same as last year.

4 2. The event is open to all Palm Valley Men s Club Platinum and National Golf Members. Guests may not be members and must have a certifiable handicap. The differential between the member and the guest may NOT be more than 10 strokes. NOTE: This year we will be determining the team handicaps as follows. a. All members and guests will be handled in the same way. b. We will take the lowest INDEX for the past 12 months and average that with the INDEX as of March 1. This will be the index for all members and guests for the tournament. 3. Members who have played at least 4 of the previous 5 years are grandfathered into the tournament. The remainder of the field will be taken from a waiting list, the names being taken on a first come basis. To fill out the field we will take in order of the names being placed on the list. All applications will be turned into the pro shop and will be stamped with the date and time to determine the order in which it was received. 5. All applications for those grandfathered and all other members should be turned into the pro shop as soon as possible and no later than January 10, ALL INFORMATION MUST BE FILLED OUT ON THE ENTRY FORM in ORDER TO BE ACCEPTED. ( Addresses, GHIN numbers, etc). AND SIGNED!!! 6. BUY IN MONIES: This year we will also have a mandatory buy in price per team of $ which will be collected at Thursday s Registration. This will include the buy in, the chipping contest, the putting contest and the 6 man scramble. Since almost 100% participated last year and the feedback was very positive we decided to do this for all teams. Additional buy-ins are available at each venue for the Pitching and Putting Contests at $10 for 3 balls.

We are asking again this year for any of those members who would like to contribute additional money for sponsorship of holes with tee signs, or having their names or companies mentioned in the program. It is a way to have anything you wish to be publicized in front of the entire field of players. It proved to be a big help in raising money for the event. 8.
