Changes can be made at the office, and post entries in all AQHA classes will be accepted until 4 classes prior to the class entering the ring. The 5% GST charge will be applied to all fees. 3 OFFICE CHARGE S: Office Charge (includes AQHA Processing/drug fee): All horses showing in AQHA, NSBA and Gold Rush Futurity Classes are subject to this one time fee of $21.00/horse/judge plus GST. Trail Practice: $10 per horse per day ($20 for circuit). All accounts must be cleared prior to leaving the show grounds. Blank cheques or credit cards are to be left with the show secretary as deposit for your account. Accounts can be paid with cash/cheque/visa/mastercard or debit. Any accounts that are not CLOSED at the show (credit cards require signatures) are subject to a $20 processing fee. Please double check at the show office before departure. STABLING: Stalls reservations and pre-entry please go to: Premium Stabling (limited) $250.00/stall for circuit (in Agri-Ctr West) limited plug-ins available for fans Regular Stalls (tents) $175.00/stall for circuit (Tents) Day Stalls (tents only) $75.00/day Grounds fee (haul-ins) $40.00/day All stalls not booked and paid for by August 12th, 2018 will be subject to $50 late charge. 4 ARRIVAL/STABLING 1. NO EARLY ARRIVALS permitted. Horses may be moved onto grounds anytime after 9am on Tuesday, August 21 st, 2018, however stalls may not available until afternoon Shavings will be available on a help yourself basis. Stalls must be vacated at the end of the show Sunday August 26, No Security after that time. 2. All stalls will be pre-assigned with reserved names. Please check stabling charts that will be posted at the show office in the AgriCenter East and in each of the stabling areas. No one is to make changes to the assigned stalls without permission of the Show Management. 3. Requests for stabling by other people must be made upon reservation, and will be accommodated to the best of the show committee s ability. Exhibitors who wish to be stabled together must reserve their stalls under the same name on the entry form provided. If the name under which the stalls are to be reserved is not the same, the stalls may not be listed together. Sponsor priority will occur and with respect to placement, the decision of Management is final. No guarantees are expressed or implied with respect to stall or barn position. No verbal or telephone reservations accepted. Open cheques are not considered as payment for stabling. 4. The Show Committee requests that end stalls be attractively decorated. End stalls may be reserved for decoration as a hospitality area provided that the area is paid as a tack stall fee and that decorations do not extend into the alley. Sponsors will receive preferential treatment for the Premium barn area as well as end stalls. 5. NO hay/feed will be available from the show office. 6. Stalls that are prepaid are at regular price. Stall prices will increase by $50 per stall after August 12th, All stalls must be pre-paid by separate cheque or by Visa or Mastercard. 7. Although attempts are made to accompany every request, there are a limited number of end stalls, preferred stalls, and locations with specific trainers/ individuals, please send your stall information in as soon as possible. 8. All cheques/credit cards will be processed upon receipt. Post-dated cheques are not considered payment until the date of the cheque. 9. Stabling Fees and show fees are non-refundable. Special circumstances may be considered by Show Management with proof of vet certificate. 10. US Residents: Please pay stabling in Canadian funds only via money order, bank draft, or credit card; Please do not write Canadian Funds on the cheque GENERAL RULES 1. The Canadian National Quarter Horse Show the Nationals will be run under the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) Rules and Regulations, unless otherwise noted. Indemnity and Responsibility: All entries are accepted with the understanding that neither The Quarter Horse Association of Alberta (QHAA), Westerner Park, Gold Rush Futurity, nor any show official of any kind, will be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibited, show or displayed, or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the show officials, but solely at the risk of the exhibitor who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal, or property associated with him, and the exhibitor shall indemnify and save harmless the above mentioned parties against any and all loss, damages and liability thus occasioned, including, but not limited to, any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of any entry form to the show shall constitute acceptance by each person signing the same of the provisions here-in set forth; and only upon this condition are entries accepted. 2. Photographic images of any exhibitor/spectators are deemed to be acknowledged and permission granted to use in advertising and/or use of media to acknowledge the show, results or any promotional activity. This includes media contact and interview requests. 3. You are responsible to clear your tab at the show. Statements provided after the show are an additional $25 dollars. 4. Vendors: Anyone wishing to sell products, tack, jewelry, etc are required to arrange such with QHAA Vendor Co-Coordinator. You may not sell anything out of your stall area without approval of said Vendor Co-Coordinator. Vendors must sign an agreement with QHAA, if required, and all rules and regulations pertaining to general exhibitors apply to vendors. 5. Management reserves the right to change schedules, arenas or times at their discretion with just cause. 6. The Show Management reserves the right to prohibit any person or horse from showing and has the right to remove any person or horse from the grounds without being liable for compensation. 7. Any exhibitor making objection to the awarding of any of the prizes or payouts at the Canadian National QH Show, shall lodge his or her objection, in writing, immediately after the award is made, but in no case later than 14 days after the Canadian National QH Show. A deposit of $ must accompany the objection, which is refundable, if the objection is upheld. 8. In a case of classes with a posted order of performance, any horse missing its turn will be eliminated from that class unless otherwise arranged in advance. All working orders will be posted prior to the class. (A working order will be drawn for all individual classes, including halter). 9. Should any question or dispute arise, which is not provided for in the foregoing rules, the same shall be referred to the Show Management whose decision is final. 10. Individual performance classes: All exhibitors are responsible to familiarize themselves with AQHA rules and regulations regarding riding more than one horse during individual working classes. 11. Entry refunds: Refunds will be given for pre-paid class entries upon presentation of a certificate from a veterinarian. 12. Drug/Tail Testing: As per AQHA/ Gold Rush Futurity regulations, all horses will be subject to random drug and/or tail testing. This will include urine and or blood samples collected by a veterinarian. Refusal or testing constitutes disqualification from the show, forfeiture of all entry fees, prize monies and awards won.

5 Official Hotel of the 2018 Canadian National Quarter Horse Show th Avenue Red Deer, Alberta T4N 3X9 Canada Phone (403) Toll-Free 1 (800) Canadian National Point System for Awards: This will be based on aggregate scores from the all judges, and Supreme Halter Horse for Open Halter Classes (listed below) the following point system will be used in determining all awards at the 2018 Canadian National Quarter Horse Show. # of Horses/Placing 1 st 2 nd 3 rd 4 th 5 th 6 th 7 th 8 th 9 th 10 th New Canadian National Super Horse Award sponsored by the Bamford Family A handcrafted silver and gold belt buckle will be presented to the owner of the Canadian National Super Horse winner. There is no entry fee required for the Super Horse Award- NEW THIS YEAR- EVERY point received in the open classes will count towards the Super Horse Award. Horses will be based on their total aggregated circuit (5 judges) points under the Canadian National Point System for Awards for their open division classes. Green, Amateur, Youth and Novice classes do not count toward the award. In the case of a tie, the following will be used to determine the winner: 1 The horse which received the most first place awards. 2 The horse which received the most firsts place awards under a TIE BREAKER judge.

6 ALL BUCKLE RECIPEINTS must have their photo taken by show photographer for Sponsorship recognition. There is no charge for this sitting fee. Any ordered photos are the responsibility of the exhibitor. Small Fry Classes W/T 11 & Under No Crossover to any AQHA or other class with the exception of AQHA halter. AQHA rules and fees will apply. Small Fry classes offered are: SHOWMANSHIP, WALK/TROT WESTERN PLEASURE, HORSEMANSHIP, TRAIL, WALK/TROT HUNTER UNDER SADDLE AND EQUITATION. TRAIL EXHIBITORS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO WORK THE GATE. Certified Helmets are strongly recommended for all Small Fry Exhibitors in Performance Under Saddle Classes. HIGH POINT PRIZES AWARDED: AMATEUR, AMATEUR SELECT, NOVICE AMATEUR, YOUTH 13 & UNDER, YOUTH 14-18, NOVICE YOUTH, WALK/TROT 11 AND UNDER, WALK/TROT YOUTH/ AMATEUR, GREEN HORSE, SENIOR HORSE and JUNIOR HORSE Only the points earned within that division will be counted towards the High Point Awards. (Example: Only Novice youth classes will be used in determining the Novice Youth Award. Novice youth classes will not be used in determining the Youth 13 & under or Youth awards) SUPREME CHAMPION HALTER HORSE Supreme Halter Awards will be presented in Open Halter Classes for: A) Supreme Champion Halter Mare B) Supreme Champion Halter Gelding C) Supreme Champion Halter Stallion The Supreme Champion Halter Horse in each division will be awarded a monogrammed award. To be eligible for the Supreme Champion Halter Award, a horse must stand Grand Champion under at least one judge. The AQHA point system used to calculate high point Halter winners will be used to calculate the Supreme Champion Halter Horse Award winners at the Canadian National Quarter Horse Show.

12 FUTURITY RULES AND REGULATIONS GOLD RUSH FUTURITY RULES: 1. Horses will be judged under NSBA rules 2. There will be one go-round with five judges per go-round. 3. Gold Rush Futurity classes shall be open to All Breeds. 4. A photocopy of the horse s registration papers must accompany entries. 5. There is no limit to the number of horses a person may enter. Catch riders/handlers are the responsibility of the owner and must be designated prior to the go-round. 6. Once a class is being judged, no other entries will be allowed to enter the ring. 7. Any problems that may arise during the show should be discussed with the Show Manager. All rulings made by the organizing committee are final. 8. Horses may be randomly drug or tail tested immediately following a class. Any horse found positive will be disqualified and forfeit all placings, prize money and future eligibility in the futurity. 9. Any surgical, chemical or otherwise altering of the tail is strictly prohibited. 10. Stewards have the right to refuse entry into the ring if any horse has broken skin, rawness, bleeding, or open sore. 11. Any NSF cheque(s) will be cause for an automatic cancellation of all Gold Rush entries unless the Show Secretary receives a money order or certified cheque for replacement within seven days of notice of NSF cheque. GOLD RUSH EQUIPMENT: All horses are subject to an equipment inspection. Any horse with artificial appliances will initiate disqualification with no refund of fees. Western Equipment 1. Two Year Olds are to be shown using equipment as per NSBA rules for Two Year Old Western Pleasure 2. Three and four year olds are to be shown using equipment as per NSBA rules for Junior Western Pleasure 3. All reining horses will be shown using equipment as per NRHA rules for Junior and Senior Reining 4. If a change in equipment is requested, there will be ample time given for the change 5. Where not specified to the contrary, AQHA rules will apply English Equipment English horses are to be shown as per NSBA rules for Junior Hunter under Saddle. GOLD RUSH LONGE LINE GUIDELINES: Will follow NSBA rule 200 Longe Line. Each entrant shall be allowed 1½ minutes to present their horse An exhibitor may not show more than one horse in each longeline class. FUTURITY ENTRY INFORMATION: 1. No telephone entries will be accepted. All entries must be received and cheques must be dated prior to August 14, Visa & Mastercard Payments are accepted. Cardholder signature is required. 2. Post entries into the Gold Rush Futurities will be accepted until 1 hour prior to the class at the rates set on the futurity entry form. 3. Photocopies of the horse s registration papers must accompany entry forms. 4. Entries for unregistered weanlings must have a copy of the breeding certificate or, failing that, must have the registration numbers and names of the sire and dam. 5. All AQHA Open, Amateur and Youth exhibitors must provide a photocopy of their individual 2018 NSBA, AQHA, AQHYA membership cards with their entries. Membership in the Quarter Horses Association of Alberta is not required for exhibitors to show in an AQHA approved show.
