2 GOAL: Membership Responsibility Target 2 DESCRIPTION: Promote and support the interests of those engaged in the breeding of Thoroughbred horses. Practice, encourage and promote responsible equine ownership. 2.1 Develop a Welcome to the CTHS package that is sent out to new or CTHS Office Staff 2013 In Progress prospective breeders of Thoroughbred horses. 2.2 Develop a mentorship program to assist newcomers to the industry. All 2013 In Progress 2.3 Establish a feedback loop in order for members to share concerns and All 2013 In Progress suggestions. 2.4 Host industry meetings to be held in Calgary and Edmonton. Goal: Government Responsibility Target 3 DESCRIPTION: Influence government in order to support the Alberta bred Thoroughbred industry 3.1 Develop a list of candidates supportive of the Alberta Thoroughbred industry and publish the information on the website and social media site. 3.2 Meet with Provincial Government representatives to discuss the interests of Thoroughbred breeders. 3.3 Meet with other equine organizations in order to lobby for the equine industry. 6 Promote, support and cooperate with those individuals and organizations that are involved in the Alberta equine breeding industry. Promote, support and cooperate with organizations that are involved in the Alberta horse racing industry. 7.1 Host a social event inviting Directors from other equine organizations. All 2013 In Progress 7.2 Invite members of other equine organizations to attend CTHS Board of Executive 2014 Open Directors meetings. 7.3 Area meetings held around the province inviting members of the CTHS Executive Year Three Open and other interested equine groups. 7.4 Host a yearly meeting with representatives from organizations involved Executive Year Three Open with the Alberta equine breeding industry. 7.5 Nametags for Directors and CTHS staff to wear at CTHS hosted events. Manager Year One Completed 15-Sept Host discussions with industry stakeholders regarding the Darrell Bauder 2014 establishment of training facilities accessible to Century Downs. 7.7 Facilitate discussions with the HBPA and Northlands regarding racing Adrian Munro 2014 and industry issues. Goal: Off Track Thoroughbreds Responsibility Target 8 DESCRIPTION: To encourage the retraining of Thoroughbreds into other disciplines upon completion of careers in racing or breeding, 8.1 Form a CTHS sub-committee which would be responsible for OTTBs. T.I.P. offers sponsorship for Thoroughbred-only classes and divisions, high point Thoroughbred awards at open horse shows and competitions, a Thoroughbred of the Year Award and a Young Rider of the Year Award.
