Goliath s Girl - Has clicked in 2 of her 5 appearances over this mile layout and has been freshened a bit by Hollendorfer with the red-hot Roman back at the controls; lands in an enticing starter spot that doesn't come up particularly strong and her best puts her right in the thick of things. 2. Autumn Twilight - A slow start hasn't helped the cause in her last pair, both resulting in show finishes across town at a bit longer distances; encouraging that Kent is at controls after getting acquainted with this one last month and she figures to play the role of stalker at this journey. 3. Stately Command - Rattled off 5 wins from 6 starts between November and April, with 4 of those scores coming over the smaller night oval here, but hasn't had much success in a trio of subsequent outings; dueled and weakened in the first start off the claim in last across town and now moves into this protected spot. 4. Rock All Day - Florida ex-patriot made only starter over this track last September and registered a game decision for Sutherland under these exact conditions; came back in October and faltered up in Fresno, now Mulhall brings her back with a steady string of Arcadia works in tow. 5. Chicago Angel - Always been more comfortable with the minor prizes, as noted by the 2 wins to go with 15 place and show finishes; used early in that last one and stopped in the stretch, but it was her first starts since November and she was going 7 furlongs that afternoon; Theriot was aboard for the most recent win and gets the cozy draw. 1. Promnesia - Jones trainee debuted with straight state-breds in late May across town, sat close after a bit of a slow takeoff and had little left for the drive; drops into claimingville now while racing over the track she calls home. 2. Berezina - Took a little tote action when making her introduction coming down the hill at SA last month and was never in the hunt; turns up with a tag this time while switching to dirt and goes from one top rider to another with Roman substituting for Prat. 3. Gold Sky -Was 51-1 when debuting at Santa Anita three weeks ago and failed to mount a rally while finishing behind a pair of today's rivals; looking in other directions. 4. Tap on a Star - Improved in the 2nd start off the vacation for Pearson and Pedroza, but will have to make up more than 5 lengths on probable favorite Sally Simpson, who did all the heavy lifting in that affair and was well clear. 5. Sally Simpson - Looks like strictly the one to beat; Cecil representative rushed up from the rail under Mario after a less-thanperfect dispatch, battled hard and then had to settle for 2nd money, finishing well clear of Tap On a Star; should finish what she started today. 6. Colonel Peggy Sue - Had been away over 11 months when she suited up for that Arcadia dash and did a steady fade that afternoon; figures to appreciate the class relief and Sherman trainee will be competing over her home court for the first time. 7. Marthamydear - Shortens back up to one turn after a pair of mile efforts at Anita that yielded mixed results; figures to be in tracking mode here from the outside slot and could work her way into a share. 5. Love That Song - First of 2 new faces in the cast; sire clicks at 10% with debuters while the unraced dam has had 4 winners from 5 t to the races headed by Tigers Song (131K); slow local drills and must deal with tricky rail. 2. Diamond Style - The other beginner; Suances has connected with 5 of 73 fresh shooters while this will be the first to the wars for the Good Journey mare, who won 6 of 44 starts for 176K in her racing days; sports back-to-back 5-furlong gate drills here for Puype 3. Miss Aurelius - Nothing doing in a trio of Arcadia outings, then got some class relief when dropped into a bottom level affair here under the lights just 5 days ago and could make no impression; barn tries blinkers today. 4. Blessings - Lone appearance came here last September, as she took a little money at the windows and played the role of bystander behind a repeat victress; modest local drills for the return. 5. Decoded - Gives new trainer Puype two looks at the outcome; well-backed in all three starts last year and had to be happy with a couple of minor awards; a steady stream of drills over this track to prepare for her return and figures to be very much at home at this level. 6. Miss Nikki - Been away nearly 22 months and failed to make any impression in those two appearances at Del Mar; did turn in a bullet gate work over this strip last month 7. My Ebony Star - Is coming off three straight runner-up efforts while doing her work at the bottom rung racing over the smaller night oval here; looks like another minor award is in her future with this grou 8. Dixie Crystal - Has flashed early interest in 2 of her 3 starts over at Santa Anita and that could carry her a lot longer under these conditions at what figures to be a decent price. 5. Decoded 8. Colosi - First of 6 new faces; sire hits at 16% with his debut babies while mom was 1-for-10 (45K) on the track; half-brother to Brilliant Belee (70K) and Glatt doesn't have to work them fast to have them ready. 2. United Patriot - Flat Out is 2-for-10 to this point as a sire and mom won once for 18 starts earning 34K; her only other to the races is winless in 6 starts; modest Arcadia drills showing, which is pretty much par for the course for O'Neill. 3. Texas Wedge - Colonel John connects with approximately 8% of his debut juveniles and the dam had a win from 9 starts for 40K in her racing days; a bullet at San Luis Rey to complete preparations for Miller, who is having another super year and gives the leg up to the hot apprentice. 4. Neighborhood Bully - Scat Daddy hits at 14% with his newbies while this is the first starter for the Pulpit mare,who had a half-dozen wins in her career from 20 appearances while putting 143K in the bank; Yakteen runner adds to the intrigue. 5. Zulfikhar - Baffert representative fetched 750K at auction 4 months ago; Bodemeister is 7-for-59 with his first-time youngsters and the Mineshaft mare won twice from 20 starts for 13K; should be more than ready off those Anita spins with Garcia at the controls. 6. Madi s Thunderbird - First of 3 in the cast to have faced the starter; was sent off at 68-1 in that debut a month ago, had a rough takeoff and was never a clean break would help, but likely needs an easier assignmen 7. Flip the Coin Jan - Rounds out the new shooters for Keith D; dad has won with 11 of 86 debut 2-year-olds and the dam has seen all 8 of her starters get the picture taken, headed by 156K earner Unbridled Logic; looks like another wellprepared SLR invader. 8. Fast Cotton - Koriner trainee attracted some tote support in the late May unveiling, but had the misfortune of running into a very promising youngster in Monday's SA Juvenile winner Run Away; sports a couple of solid local drills in the interim. 9. Cause for Pardon - Like Fast Cotton, chased home Run Away in that 4.5fF affair across town and was up for the 4th money behind Bookies Luck, who also came back to score; didn't have the cleanest of getaways in that unveiling and gets off the rail for this go-around. 10. Almeria - Debuts for veteran Truman; Into Mischief wins with 13% of his first-time youngsters while mom won 3 of 8 starts for 76K and her only other to the wars is US Officer (4-for-10, 166K); like Desormeaux taking the call and the outside assignment. 11. Doheny Beach - Sire has one winner from 7 starters to this point while mom was winless in 8 starts and has seen 2 of her 3 starters reach the circle, headed by Dnce N Denae (139K); leading toward some of the other fresh runners. 3. Chris and Dave - Dropped in class after a nearly two month freshening and responded with a blowout victory at this distance six weeks ago. Protected and benefits from the inside post, but figures to be pressured from the outset and has yet to win back-toback in California. 2. Monterey Shale - Gelding has won two of three after losing first 12 starts of his career and dominated softer June 4 despite breaking through the gate prior to the start. Put in spot where he can t be claimed after being taken for $12,500 from Gary Stute by stable that was hot near the end of the Santa Anita meet. 3. Agent Di Nozzo - Stretches to preferred trip after breaking slowly and trailing at night at 870 yards. Gelding is 1-for-1 over this track, having scored vs. $8,000 claimers when odds-on and trained by Peter Miller. Unplaced in two starts since being tagged, so will need a form reversal to contend. 4. Old Man Lake - Broke slowly from the inside and failed to threaten on turf two weeks ago, extending his losing streak to 17. Gelding is winless since winning an optional claimer vs. California breds April 26, Stretch out may help as two of his three main track wins have come at eight furlongs. 5. Two Six Wins - Goes long again and returns to dirt in third since returning from 8 1/2 months on the sidelines. May be primed for best for sharp stable and is proven at trip and over track, having graduated here during the inaugural Summer Turf Festival in 2014 when trained by Mike Pender. 6. Roaring Rule - Had clear lead with an eighth of a mile to run, but couldn t quite last when nearly 22-1 four weeks ago. Twirling Apples - Opened a clear lead in the stretch when debuting for high-priced claiming tag a little over two months ago, but gave way late to finish fourth in a field of five. Respect her zip and certainly plenty of room for improvement and benefits from the shorter trip. 2. Jeweled - Burned lots of money in two starts last summer at Del Mar, but has solid work tab for Hall of Fame trainer, including a local bullet six weeks ago. Capable of making amends. 3. Boldest Vow - Sire is 10% with his rookies and multiple stakes winning dam has had four of five prior foals win, topped by Big John B. ($871,375). Florida bred has trained locally for Hall of Fame conditioner, but may require more distance for best. 4. Ib Prospecting - Sire - a former Horse of the Year - is about 7% with his rookies and multiple stakes winning dam has produced several multiple winners, including Frolic s Revenge, (8 victories, $346,075). 5. Ribbon of Jewels - Returns from Northern California after completing the exacta at 2-1 over the Tapeta surface at Golden Gate Fields. Homebted has trained on the dirt, but this will be her first try on the surface in the afternoon. 6. Dorita s Candy - Failed to defeat anyone in two starts as a 2-year-old, the latest some 10 months ago. Decent work tab for her comeback, but will need to return different filly to contend. 7. C C Rocks - Midnight Lute has won with 31 of 305 debuters and all three of dam s prior foals have won. Solid work tab in Arcadia and may come out firing. 8. Arch of Troy - Goes inside to outside after failing to threaten after slow start in debut more than three months ago. May perk up over track where she s trained for high percentage stable. 9. Precious Dixie - Split field after prompting pace in debut and should benefit from experience. Worked twice in interim and sheds weight with switch to hot riding apprentice. 2. Jeweled 9. Overcomer - Shelved since disappointing as the favorite at much longer trip 8 1/2 months ago. Most effective around one turn and has fired in both of his local appearances, including a win vs. $16,000 claimers during the 2015 LACF meet when trained by Steve Miyadi. Capable if primed. 2. Luckarack - Veteran rallied from off the pace to win at shorter distance under the lights when favored 19 days ago. Gelding has been competing vs. cheaper in Northern California and hasn t won a race in the afternoon in this section of the state since scoring on the turf at Santa Anita Dec. 26, Coils Gold - Lone sophomore in the field has been away since finishing fourth of six when three months ago. Prepped steadily in the interim for Hall of Fame conditioner, who has won or shared four training titles here since thoroughbred racing returned in July, Proven fresh as he broke his maiden by daylight in his debut last Nov Jimmy Bouncer - Scored with a rail journey nearly two months ago when defeating recent Santa Anita winner Prime Issue. Nearly a.500 hitter lifetime and has been popular at the claim box, but claims in his last three starts have been voided. The one to beat. 5. Mizter Kool Cat - Performed well at shorter distance since returning after a couple of months on the bench, including a daylight victory when vs. quarter horses. Improvement needed because he failed to threaten in three prior afternoon starts. 6. Mr. Count On Me - Failed to threaten when dismissed at 62- in first in more than a year six weeks ago. Calibraska - Faded badly for this price tag at longer distance when days ago and hasn t been competitive in any of his afternoon efforts. Pass. 2. Washington Road - Idle for over 17 months since finishing distant fifth at longer trip at higher level. New gelding did turn in his best effort sprinting two races ago and has been training locally for new stable. Formerly trained by Ted H. West. 3. Boogie - Sundarban is 2-for-36 with his rookies and dam, who was winless on the track, has had seven winners from 11 prior foals, topped by stakes winner Home Sweet Aspen ($359,822). Slow drills, so prefer to see outing. 4. My Farmer - Adds blinkers and will be part of the pace, finished directly in front of next out winner Cupid s Beau three starts ago and will appreciate the cut back in distance in his first try over a track he has trained over the last month. 5. Press Game - Hasn t been seen since Oct. 30, 2014 and was far back in both races as a 3-year-old. Six local drills since May 20, but passing on gelding who was formerly trained by Matt Chew. 6. Sensational Sea - Nothing sensational about his races as son of a former Breeders Cup Mile winner has been defeated by a combined 142 1/4 lengths in four starts. Figures to be far back early and late. 7. Malibu d Oro - Opened up huge lead through rapid fractions going longer on turf, then understandably fell apart late vs. tougher. Needs to work on his stamina, but could hold on better at this trip against this weaker bunch. 8. Where s the Trophy - Dixie Chatter has won with eight of 119 debuters and first foal from winless dam. Got feel of the track with two works in June and jockey has had some success riding for this stable since relocating to Southern California. 9. Lion s Luck - Blinkers worn in his last start nearly 18 months ago come off as locally-based gelding drops into a career soft spot. Yet to defeat a horse, but work tab is encouraging, including a 1:12.60 move 20 days ago. 10. The Lion Roars - Comebacker showed some promise as a juvenile, including a runner-up finish behind eventual repeater Mo Soul in his debut over one year ago. Light local work tab, but could be a player with the drop. Formerly trained by Bill Morey. 11. King Pacal - Yet to come close to reigning and failed to show speed for this price tag 10 weeks ago. Needs scratch help. 12. Chief Tiger - Only on the board finish came when 2nd in weak field when two races ago. Would be surprise for stable seeking first victory of Washington Road 4. My Farmer 7.
