Box 99 Ocala, FL (352) Fax: (352) Website: obssales.com Dear Consignor (FEBRUARY TWO YEAR OLD SALE): January 11, 2010 OBS kicks off the 2010 two-year-old season on February 16 th. The sale begins at noon with 160 horses cataloged. The under tack show is scheduled on Friday, February 12 th at 9:00 AM. The catalog will be in the mail by January 18 th and is now available on the OBS website. OBS graduates continue to perform at the highest level as OBS February leads all sales producing stakes winners at a remarkable rate of 13.4%. On the front cover is millionaire Macho Again, winner of the prestigious Stephen Foster and the back cover features two of last year s graduates, Negligee, winner of the Alcibiades and Decelerator, winner of the Debutante at Churchill Downs. Since the installation of Safetrack, the accomplishments of OBS graduates have been quite impressive. With the oldest graduates just completing their three year old year and in only a year and a half of racing, horses sold off the Safetrack have won or placed in 282 Stakes, including 67 graded stakes. The stakes were run over all surfaces: 182 dirt, 67 synthetic and 33 turf. An OBS newsletter featuring the continued success of OBS graduates is attached and has also been distributed to domestic and international buyers and is accessible at obssales.com. The 21 st renewal of the OBS Championship Races will be held the day prior to the sale at 1:30 PM on February 15 th. Under Tack Show Friday, February 12 th - 9:00 A.M Submit the enclosed Under Tack Show form by noon, Tuesday, February 9 th The Under Tack Show will be streamed live at obssales.com. Videos will be accessible on the OBS website individually by horse or for the entire under tack show, and also in rooms at the Hilton, Courtyard Marriott, Residence Inn, Homewood Suites, and the Ramada Inn. MEDICATION, HORSESHOES, RIDING CROPS & PROHIBITED PRACTICES Please refer to the attached policy adopted prior to last years two year old sales. **** SALES RESULTS REPORTING REQUIREMENTS **** In compliance with the amendment to Florida Statute effective July 2, 2008, any horse reported as a sale on the original sales results, which in fact is an RNA must be reported by OBS. These corrections must be published by OBS within 90 days of the sale. EHV-1 Guidelines As many horses are transported to locations requiring an EHV-1 statement on Health Certificates, you must submit EHV-1 vaccination records. Complete the attached form signed by your veterinarian. All horses shipping from out of state must be accompanied by a negative coggins and a health certificate. It is important that OBS has the following documents on file: Jockey Club Certificate Coggins (dated within 6 months of date of sale) EVA Test (dated within 90 days of date of sale) EHV-1 vaccination record (dated between 14 and 90 days from sale) Authorized Agent Forms NOTE: PLEASE IDENTIFY THE HORSE ON THE COGGINS and EVA BY ITS REGISTERED NAME AND/OR DAM & FOALING YEAR, NOT BY ITS NICKNAME. GET YOUR PAPERWORK IN PROMPTLY AND NOTIFY LOUISE MEDLIN OF ANY PROBLEMS!! 2 Stall assignments are listed below. SHAVINGS (BAGGED ONLY) ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS SALE. HOWEVER, BULK SHAVINGS MAY BE USED FOR INITIAL SETUP AS LONG AS THEY ARE IMMEDIATELY PUT IN THE STALLS AND NOT STORED ON THE GROUND. If you are using straw bedding, initial bedding will be provided by OBS. Stalls will be available Monday, January 25 th. Pony stalls have been included. Contact Barbara Donnelly for additional stabling information. Horses must train with an OBS saddle towel beginning Thursday, February 4 th. Racetrack Schedule Main racetrack training hours are 6:30 AM until 1:00 PM, except: Friday, February 12 th : CLOSED for the under tack show except it will remain open until 7:30 AM for horses in the OBS Races only. Monday, February 15 th : open until 10:00 AM due to OBS Championship Races. Training racetrack hours will remain open daily from 6:30 AM until 1:00 PM. REMINDER! Carefully review the catalog page for accuracy, especially state-bred and stakes information. You, the consignor, are responsible and any errors could result in the return of the horse. Advise Lauren Marks of any corrections as soon as possible. The OBS feed store located at the stable gate will be open for feed, hay and supplies for your convenience from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM weekdays, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 14 th. Please be available at your barn two hours prior to the sale to provide assistance to our hip taggers and expedite the process. Please be reminded that if the buyer does not pick up the horse or make arrangements for its care, the consignor should insure the horse will be cared for. If you can no longer care for the horse, notify OBS so we may look after the horse. Do not remove the sales halter or hip tags from the horse and return halter tags and saddle towels to the stable gate. Please review the attached information sheet, and contact us for any assistance. Entry forms must be complete and signed and accompanied by either the Jockey Club Registration papers or payment of the $425 entry fee.

3 OBS FEBRUARY 2010 SALES INFORMATION STALLS: DO NOT USE A STALL FOR TACK OR PONY WITHOUT IT BEING ASSIGNED TO YOU BY OBS. ANY STALL NOT OCCUPIED BY A SALE HORSE MAY BE REASSIGNED. UNDER TACK SHOW: Horses must be presented as scheduled. Changes must be approved prior to the under tack show. Please keep your horse to the side and out of the way if you are waiting for your rider. A horse may appear once during each under tack show. Under Tack Show Forms must be submitted by noon, Tuesday, February 9 th. RACETRACK SCHEDULE Main Track hours will be 6:30 AM until 1:00 PM except as follows: Friday, February 12th: CLOSED for the under tack show except it will remain open until 7:30 AM for horses in the OBS Races only. Monday, February 15th: open until 10:00 AM due to OBS Championship Races. Training Track will remain open daily from 6:30 AM until 1:00 PM TRACK AND UNDER TACK RULES: Please see notice attached. MEDICAL INFORMATION CENTER: All horses sell with a bone warranty described in condition seventh, whether or not radiographs are in the information center. Radiographs must be within thirty days of the sale and submitted by noon Thursday, February 11 th. Scope reports or any other veterinary statements may be placed in the information center. Medical information will not be accepted after the deadline as OBS compiles a list for distribution at the sale. The information center does not void any warranties or required announcements as stated in conditions seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh. MEDICATION, RIDING CROPS, HORSESHOES, PROHIBITED PRACTICES: Attached policy effective February POST-BREEZE TESTS: Blood tests will be performed on horses selected at the sole discretion of OBS at all under tack shows. Blood will be drawn at the test barn (Barn 12A) and results should be received within 48 hours. Any horse that receives undisclosed medication which is identified by the test is subject to withdrawal or return. Positive results will be submitted to the Florida Department of Agriculture as required. POST-SALE TESTS: The purchaser may request a post-sale blood test within 24 hours of purchase according to Florida law. OBS policy allows the buyer to request a test for exogenous anabolic steroids at the time of purchase. MEDICATION REPORTING: Medication reports must be submitted to OBS on a daily basis starting 72 hours prior to the under tack show and continuously through sale day. Medication may be administered according to state guidelines described below while also abiding by further restrictions imposed by OBS policy. It is important to have these forms completed accurately and signed by your veterinarian. Reports must be submitted to the office or information center within 12 hours of treatment or 1 hour prior to the sale session or under tack show, whichever is earlier. Medication reports for each horse will be in the information center and available to prospective buyers upon written request. Copies of those requests are available to the consignor. SUMMARY OF MEDICATION REGULATIONS (FLORIDA CHAPTER ): No person shall administer to a thoroughbred horse offered at a licensed public sale any substance recognized as an injectable, oral, or topical medication within 72 hours of the start of the sales session (or under tack show) unless the person is a licensed veterinarian and the medication is therapeutic or necessary for the treatment or prevention of an illness or injury and is reported to the sales organization. A separate medication form signed by a veterinarian must be submitted individually for each horse treated. Copies of are available at OBS. PAPERWORK: A $100 late fee will be assessed for paperwork received after Friday, February 5 th. Make necessary arrangements with your bank. EHV-1 VACCINATION RECORDS: OBS requires the EHV-1 vaccination records form be submitted and signed by a veterinarian. SADDLE TOWELS & HALTER TAGS: Return to the stable gate. $25 will be charged for missing saddle towels or halter tags. SALE HALTERS & HIP TAGS Be available at your barn two hours prior to sale time to assist our hip taggers. Do not remove the hip tags or sale halters from your horse after the sale. CARE OF HORSE AFTER SALE: The consignor is responsible for the care of the horse until the buyer picks up the horse or for at least 48 hours after the sale. Notify OBS after that time so that we may look after the horse. MUCK PICK - UP SCHEDULE: Muck wagons will be removed beginning at 8:30 AM daily and will be replaced after the sale. SIGNS/STALL CARDS: Signs may not be hung in the shed row or by an entrance/exit of the barn. OBS will assist you in hanging signs from the barns. OBS is not responsible for signs left after the sale. Consignors are responsible for their own stall cards. GATES: Please bring in your sales tack, feed, and equipment in early morning or after the sale. Trucks will not be allowed in the barn area after 9:00 AM each morning so consignors may show their horses

4 SHAVINGS: Only bagged shavings are allowed. However, bulk shavings may be used for initial setup as long as they are immediately put in the stalls and not stored on the ground. NO DOGS are allowed on the sale premises.
