1 Open Class Sheep Market Lambs and Breeding Sheep Director Jim Hartzell Saturday, July 23, :30 a.m. Secretary Donna Lantis Rules and Regulations 1. Entries will be accepted from residents of the state of Indiana and surrounding states. 2. Not responsible for accidents or losses. 3. Entry fee is $8.00 per head. EXCEPTION: 4-H members of Elkhart County 4-H Lamb Club pay $5.00 per head. No pre-entry needed. 4. Animals may be penned from 6:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 22 and 7:00 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23. Animals will be released at the end of the show. Scales will be open for weighing lambs from 7:00 9:30 a.m. Saturday. 5. All market lambs must be completely shorn after July 13 and free of all blankets before entering the barn. All sheep, from other states, exhibited must be accompanied by an official certificate of health signed by a licensed veterinarian indicating that he has inspected the entire flock of which exhibits are a part and found them to be free of scabies and other transmittable diseases. 6. Exhibitors must furnish certificate of registry of all registered sheep and also furnish record of transfer if not bred by the exhibitor. Identification tags or tattoos and breed association tags must be in the ears of all sheep. The superintendent or representatives will check certificates and identification of all individuals. The above sheep must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor by July1, Market classes will be shown by breed, dividing classes by weight with approximately 15 in each class. 8. Commercial Ewe classes: Ewe lambs will need to be weighed. They cannot be shown in a breeding class and a market class. We will have classes for yearling ram, ram lamb, pair of ram lambs, yearling ewe, pair of yearling ewes, ewe lamb, pair of ewe lambs, and flock. 9. EXHIBITOR S FLOCK shall consist of one ram, two yearling ewes, and two ewe lambs. 10. Exhibitors will be limited to two premiums in any single class, one premium in any group class. 11. Entry fee checks should be made out to Elkhart County Sheepbreeders. 12. The Sheepbreeder s Executive Committee will rule on problems that arise at the show and their decision will be final. To qualify for an exhibitor pass, entries must be in the Elkhart County 4-H Fair Office, C.R. 34, Goshen, IN 46528, by July 1, NOTICE: If entry is received on or before the deadline date, an admission pass for the exhibitor will be mailed. Late entries can be made on the day of the show in the show arena, but must be completed with show clerks by 30 min. prior to show time. 2. All animals shown must be entered in the name of bona-fide owner. 3. All animals must be registered. Registration papers must accompany animals and be shown if requested by superintendents. 4. Health Requirements: Out-of-state animals must be accompanied by a valid Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, verifying the completion of any required testing and entry requirements or permits as determined by the IN Board of Animal Health: 5. There will be a three dollar ($3.00) stall fee per animal. All Elkhart County 4-H Dairy Club members showing their own dairy animals will be exempt from this fee. 6. Animals should be on the grounds 1 hour before show start time. Arrive by 8:30 a.m. for Holsteins: and 9:00 a.m. for other breeds. Animals will be released after the completion of the day's judging and should be out of the barn by 5:00 p.m. 7. In order to comply with health department regulations, all manure must be put only in the designated areas and within the concrete barriers. All exhibitors are urged to cooperate to maintain a clean, attractive exhibit. 8. Exhibitors must furnish their own feed. 9. Fair Board policy calls for exclusive use of sawdust/shavings for a bedding base (no sand or bark). Additional sawdust/shavings will be available. Exhibitors are permitted to use straw, which must be provided by the exhibitor. 10. Every precaution will be taken to avoid accident and injury to animals and persons; however, should any incident occur, the Elkhart County 4-H and Agricultural Exposition, Inc, Elkhart County Dairy Advisory Board and any of the leaders or Fair personnel will not be held responsible. 11. The management reserves the right to make and implement any additional rules necessary to cover conditions that might arise. 12. Premier Breeder Awards: The banner for each premier breed winner will be determined by the largest number of points won by the top six animals bred by an exhibitor. Scoring in cow classes shall be 20 for first, 18 for second, etc. Heifer and dry cow classes will be half value: 10, 8, 6, 4 respectively with placing. Ties will be won by the exhibitor with the fewest number of animals in the calculations. 13. Champion Banners: A banner will be awarded to the grand champion and premiere breeder in each breed. 14. The Advisory Board will pay $10.00 per animal to each 4-H member who shows their animals in the respective breed open show. The animals must have been shown during the 4-H show of the current year. Substitute lead persons of same or lesser age and ability will be accepted if the 4-H member is unable to show for any reason which is agreeable to the 4-H leader, but the $10.00 premium will not be paid. 15. Premium money will be distributed in the show ring at the completion of the class with ribbons.

10 NORTHERN INDIANA CLASSIC OPEN DAIRY GOAT SHOW Saturday, July 30, 2016 SHOW CHAIRMAN: Mike Pluimer (574) Cell (260) SHOW SECRETARY: Tammy Pluimer (574) JUDGE: Joe Pilotte, Brazil, IN The Elkhart County 4-H Dairy Goat Club will hold a Junior Doe Show and a Senior Doe Show in conjunction with the Elkhart County Fair, on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen, Indiana. Both shows will be official ADGA Shows and their rules shall govern the conduct of the shows. The Junior and Senior Shows are separately sanctioned. The Shows will be held starting at 9:00 A.M. **SHARP**. All animals should arrive by 7:00 A.M. show day. The committee will receive and unload animals no earlier than 8:00 P.M., on July 29, All Animals must be health checked before entering the barn. All out of state goats must carry an official health certificate from the State of origin. All health papers must have a Premise identification number. Health papers will be checked as to tattoo or other description on papers. The Show Committee will examine each animal on the grounds and determining the health of the animals prior to the show. Animals showing signs of infectious disease or ill health will be barred from the barns and the show ring. A registration or recordation certificate is required for any animal 6 months old or older. A registration, recordation certificate, or stamped duplicate application showing the date received by the office is required for any animal under 6 months of age. No copies of the registration or recordation certificate or stamped duplicate application shall be accepted by the Show officials. Any animals without papers will not be allowed in the show ring. All animals must be penned; you may not show from a trailer. No dogs allowed!. Pen rental is $4.00, plus tack pens are $4.00. Each pen will hold 2 mature does. Entry fee is $4.00 per animal.
