Box Las Cruces, NM Tel: , Fax: Greetings, The annual NMSU Horse Sale will be held on April 26th this year, with the preview starting at 12:30 and the sale starting at 2:00 pm. I feel that we have an excellent offering this year of riding horses, yearling prospects, and broodmares. We will sell approximately 20 head of horses including; 5 riding geldings, 4 riding mares, 2 three year old stallions, 2 two-year-old stallions, 2 yearling fillies, 2 broodmares due to foal, 1 bred mare, and a proven 6-year-old stallion. This offering consists of NMSU-raised horses, donated stock, and some purchased for teaching purposes. I am excited about this group of quality horses. It doesn t matter if you are looking for a show prospect, ranch horse, roping horse, barrel horse, or are looking to get into the breeding business, we have something for you. All of the riding horses have been started on cattle, and ridden over trail obstacles. There is a great deal of potential to get an athletic, wellbroke horse with outstanding bloodlines at a very good price. This sale not only serves as a major source of revenue for our teaching efforts and extracurricular student activities, but it is an excellent hands on teaching tool for our students. The students have put forth a very high quality effort this year in terms of sale preparation and advertising. They have spent the semester working to bring you this exceptional set of horses, and I hope you will take the time to come to the sale. 4 Terms and Conditions for Sale of Horses Terms of sale are cash. Payments must be made in full to the cashier immediately following the sale. Make all checks payable to NMSU. Master Card, Visa, and Discover Cards will be accepted. All registration papers will be mailed complete with signed transfer certificates and breeding certificates (when applicable) directly to the appropriate horse association for transfer to the new owner. NMSU will pay the cost of transfer. It is the buyer s responsibility to pay his/her own membership within the respective breed. Please give the clerk the correct name and address of the person to whom the animal is to be transferred. Buyers will be provided with Coggins test results and a health certificate for each horse at no charge. Any further expenses and arrangements associated with exportation of horses to other countries will be the buyer s responsibility. The highest bidder is the buyer. If any dispute arises between two or more bidders, the animal in dispute shall immediately be put up again for advance bid between the disputing bidders. If there is no advance, the animal shall go to the person whose bid the auctioneer last recognized. All horses will be sold to the highest bidder, we do reserve the right to put a minimum bid on selected horses. The buyer will assume all risks and expense of the animal after the close of the bid by the auctioneer. Animals purchased at this sale will be cared for by the seller, but at the buyer s risk until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, All known defects of sale animals will be announced before the bidding begins. NMSU is not responsible for injuries sustained by persons attending the sale or by animals after they are sold. All effort has been made to insure correctness of the catalog. NMSU and auctioneer will assume no responsibility for errors or omissions. Any known corrections will be made at sale time and take precedence over the catalog. Pedigree information in this catalog was obtained from the AQHA Records database or the Jockey Club Equineline database where applicable as well as from public show results.
