The Championships are open to qualified competitors only. Horses and ponies must be at least four years old. All competitors must be Full or Young members of British Carriagedriving, with the exception of Novices, who may compete with BC Associate membership, and competitors in the Evolution and Young Horse classes who may be Affiliated Club members. All horses and ponies must be vaccinated in accordance with the prevailing BC rules. Horse passports, to include record of vaccination, must be brought to the championships. NOTE: Stabling: Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate requests made at the time of entry to share grooms/backsteppers etc. with another competitor, this cannot be confirmed until after Close of Withdrawals (7 September). All entries (except Evolution/Young horse & pony) will be allocated permanent stabling as part of their entry fee. 4-in-hand - 5 Stables, Pairs & Tandems - 3 Stables, Singles - 1 Stable. Only shavings are permitted as bedding, and are available to purchase on site if required. All stables must be mucked out before departure and all wet shavings, muck, hay and haylage must be removed. Additional stables are available if required at 20 each. Horses and ponies must not be kept in portable stables. Please report to Stable Manager on arrival, and park as directed. When using all weather surfaces for training, please ensure you pick up all droppings. Electric Hookup: Electric hook-up for the duration of the event 45. Extra vehicles / caravans incur additional fee ( 45) if parked in electric hook-up area. Dogs welcomed, but must be kept on leads at all times. Broomies Cafe and fully licensed bar, with full range of bar meals available from Wednesday evening. Happy Hour each evening. Gourmet Burger Bar, selling handmade Herefordshire beef burgers, locally sourced bacon rolls and luxury coffees open from 7 am each day from Thursday to Sunday. Keep an eye on the JS Teamwear Webshop (link on BC Homepage)! Health and Safety standards will be enforced always. All persons on the showground or course will be held responsible for complying with these standards at all times and will not put themselves or any other person at risk in any way whatsoever. Any accidents shall be reported to the Safety Officer or the Events Secretary at the time of the occurrence. A report shall be entered into the Accident Report book and the relevant forms completed. Please theteam@cricklands.com for a full copy of our Health & Safety Policy. Horses and ponies may not be left tied to lorries unattended. The David Broome Event Centre, Mount Ballan Manor, Crick, Chepstow, Monmouthshire NP26 5XP (Postcode will take you to lorry park gates on Sat Navs). Follow signs for David Broome Event Centre. If using one of the two Severn Bridges, explain to the person in the booth that you are driving a horsebox with permanent living accommodation. This will entitle you to cross the bridge for 5.60 rather than Permanent toilets and hot showers are available on site. Competitors in all classes (except Novice, Evolution and Young Horse) must be current BC Full members. Competitors in Novice Championship may compete as Associate members. Competitors in Evolution and Young Horse Championships may compete members of a BC Affiliated Club. ON-LINE ENTRIES You will find the entry form at: IF THE ENTRY FORM IS NOT COMPLETED CORRECTLY OR IS ILLEGIBLE, THE EVENT SECRETARY HAS THE RIGHT TO RETURN IT AND REFUSE ENTRY! (Selection Forms can be downloaded from the web site or obtained from your Class Representative). PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES If the driver is under 18 years of age, the name of a responsible adult (over 18) who will be able to attend in case the driver s horse(s) are selected for drug testing, must be given on the entry form. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY HORSE DRIVING TRIALS COMPETITIONS Neither the Organising Committee of any Horse Driving Trials to which British Carriage Driving Rules apply, nor British Carriage Driving, nor any landowner, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, save for the death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers or any one for whom they are in law responsible, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, drivers, grooms, spectators, land or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract, or in any way whatsoever. The organisers of events take reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
