7 Champlain Valley Open Fair Horse Show Sponsored in part by Poulin Grain Classes are open to everyone meeting the criteria of the class! You do not have to be a member to participate! Exhibitors are responsible for knowing the rules pertaining to the classes they enter. You do not have to belong to VHSA, USEF, etc. to show in any class! All exhibitors may wear ASTM/SEI protective headgear in all classes without penalty from the judge. Class Descriptions Note:An asterik * indicates class specifications are in the VHSA rule book and the class may be pointed with VHSA. A diamond shape indicates the class is not pointed with VHSA and class descriptions are as follows: Western Ranch Pleasure: The ideal western ranch pleasure entry should be presented in a more forward-moving style than the typical western pleasure show horse, being able to cover long distances, softly and quietly like that of a working ranch horse at all gaits. Entries to be shown both ways of the ring at a walk, jog and lope. Extensions of any gait and/or additional testing at the judges request. If extensions are requested, exhibitors may rise in the saddle but are not allowed to post. To be shown in good working tack with appropriate western attire. Attire/Tack with silver or excessive bling, banding of manes and use of false tails are discouraged and may be faulted. ASTM/SEI helmets allowed in this and all classes at this show without penalty.
