3 The Youth Team kicked off the year with a two day training clinic with their Manager Mary Larcom. This was held at Sovereign Quarter Horses in Cambridgeshire. They rode a variety of horses for practice in Showmanship, Horsemanship, Ranch Riding, Hunt Seat Equitation and Hunter under Saddle. The team then went to the Sherwood Easter Show held at Oakridge Arena under the direction of the US Team Coach Charlene Carter. Charlene coached them over the four days in all the classes they will be competing in at the AQHA Youth World Cup. They will be training and showing again at the Fenland shows in May/June. Thank you to all those who have supported the team and loaned horses for their practice and show sessions - it is very much appreciated. If you would like to help our team with some of their costs you can donate online at MyDonate by adding AQHA UK to the charity search. Details are also on the AQHA UK website and Facebook page. Youth rider Iain has agreed to play his bagpipes at the YWC if the MyDonate funding reaches 2000, so even if you can spare 5 please help support our Youth Team. Many of our previous youth team have gone on to successful careers in the western riding industry as trainers and coaches in their own right, both here and abroad. So by supporting them now you are helping to support the quarter horse and western riding community here in the UK. Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped our team so far!

4 International News! Congratulations to Lucy Adams for a fabulous achievement at the Swiss Spring Slide at Mooslargue in April. She was overall second place with Lady Magnebellum, and tied 4th with Yankee Cashier. She also won the Rookie Pro with Yankee Cashier. Alison Bucknell s Keylogs ridden by Bob Reader placed 8th. Alison also achieved 3rd in Ltd Non Pro and 1st Intermediate Non pro. Congratulations to both riders at this event. Check out the latest horses for sale page! -for-sale/

Council members have been on many training courses and taking legal advice to make sure all is in order! Over the next few weeks you will be receiving s, or letters if we cannot contact you electronically,** about the regulations and asking for information from you. Please help us by answering the questions, it's really important that we have everything ready for the deadline. Also please add info@aqha.uk.com and office@aqha.uk.com into your address book so that our s do not end up in your spam folder! One of the rules for GDPR concerns sending s and newsletters; all members will continue to receive the e-newsletter as part of their membership package, however if you are not a member and currently receive the newsletter please click the button below if you wish to continue to subscribe. For full details and biographies please go to the website Hall Of Fame page - David and Henry have contributed so much to the Association for many years, and Tawnys Dunit has an incredible show record which really put the UK on the map with UK and International showing!
