Classes are open to Members and Non-Members of the NPS, but Non-Members will need to become members to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival April The NPS General Rules for Showing apply (see NPS website for details). In each class the three highest placed ponies, not already qualified, within the first six places, will qualify. Winnings in the 2017/2018 Novice and Pure Novice Winter Championships will not debar ponies from the NPS 2018 Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions. Qualification cards will be awarded in the ring. PUK 1st 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies will qualify for the spring Classic 2018,, Equifest 2018 and BSPA Finals. Competitors in qualifying positions, ARE NOT required to become a member in order to compete in the Finals. CHAPS WINTER RULES - Both the owner and the rider of any exhibit need not be fully paid-up members of CHAPS (UK) at the time of competition, nor must the animal be registered; but to validate the qualification, both membership and registration must be in place with CHAPS UK at the time of entering. The relevant years finals and both sections of the qualifier card must be returned as per the instructions on the card. Send to CHAPS (UK) Admin, 1 Mclaren Cottages, Abertysswg, Rhymney, Tredegar NP22 5BH. All stallions MUST BE graded with CHAPS (UK) in order to compete in these classes. Exhibits not to have qualified for hoys in the current and previous year in which the finals will be held [e.g. for 2018 finals the horse or pony must not have qualified for HOYS in either 2016 or 2017]. The two highest placed of each height/type category may qualify. STALLIONS MUST WEAR THEIR STALLION DISC EQUIFEST FIRST 2 QUALIFY FOR THE SUMMER TO BE HELD AT PETERBOURGH..Rules BSPS 1 Classes are qualifiers for the BSPS Winter Championship Show. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will qualify in the Novice Classes and the Open First Pony of Show Hunter Type and in the mixed height novice classes 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prize winners will qualify. In the Open/Restricted classes the three highest placed Restricted animals in each class will qualify and in the Mixed Height Open /Restricted Classes the four highest placed Restricted animals will qualify (riders on Restricted animals MUST wear an armband). Animals must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify for the Winter Championships and must be ridden by a BSPS member, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies.riders on Restricted animals must wear an armband. Restricted Classes - Animals must not of been placed 1st to 8th at the RIHS or HOYS IN 2016/2017/2018 in the whp classes. Any animal that has qualified for the WHP/WH classes at the RIHS or HOYS in or the current year is not eligible for the Restricted qualification in the Open WHP/WH classes. Likewise any animal that has qualified for the SHP classes at the RIHS or HOYS in 2016/ 2007 or the current year is not eligible for the Restricted qualification in the Open SHP classes,, Show Pony and Int Show Riding Type Animals been placed 1st to 9th at the RIHS or HOYS IN 2016/2017/2018..

Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Ponies not to have won a first prize in any Leading Rein Class since 1 st October 2017 Class 2 - The NPS /Area 25 M&M Novice First Ridden Championship To be run under NPS Rules 2017M&M First Ridden. Ponies not exceeding 128 cm. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Ponies must not be cantered except in their individual show. Ponies not to have won a first prize in any First Ridden Class since 1 st October 2017 The NPS/M&M Leading Rein and First Ridden Winter Championships To be run under NPS Rules 2018 Class 3.NPS /PUK /EQUIFEST M&M Leading Rein. Ponies not exceeding 122 cm. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Class 4. NPS /PUK / EQUIFEST M&M First Ridden. Ponies not exceeding 128 cm. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. Ponies must not be cantered except in their individual show.. Ponies not to have been placed first in any Ridden M&M class since 1 st October 2017(excluding lead rein and first ridden) Class 5A The NPS pure novice large rules as above The NPS/ M&M Confined Novice Ridden Championship This Competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Book. Ponies not to have won a first prize of 10 or more in any Ridden M&M class before 1 st October Class. 6 Welsh C & D Class 7. Fell, Dales & Highland Class 8. This competition is open to stallions, mares or geldings registered with one or more of the following stud books: a)the part bred or Anglo Arab section of the Arab Horse Society with a minimum of 12.5% Arab blood b) The part bred section of the Welsh Pony & Cob Stud books with

5 a minimum of 12.5% Welsh blood c)the part bred section of the Dartmoor Pony Stud book with a minimum of 12.5% Dartmoor blood d) The part bred section of the British Connemara Stud book with a minimum of 25% Connemara blood e) The part bred section of the New Forest Pony Stud book Society with a minimum of 25% New Forest blood Class 38. Balanced Show Mix Restricted Ridden Part bred Pony ( Welsh & Arabs only ) Stallion, mare or gelding 4yrs old and over exceeding 148 cms. and not exceeding 158 cms.
