2 Rules and Regulations Competitors/participants at any event run by PHSSA have a responsibility to ensure the welfare and at all times treat their horses humanely and with dignity, respect and compassion. Competitors/participants are to conduct themselves in a professional manner and act with integrity in all dealings with PHSSA and other competitors and to uphold the rules and regulations of PHSSA and AQHA at all times. NO alcohol is allowed in, or can be consumed in the marshalling areas, working arenas or show pen/contest areas. The show is open to all breeds. The show is being held under AQHA rules. On day of the show, 1 hour prior to the commencement of the show and 1 hour after the cessation of the show, there will be no training equipment allowed in the immediate marshalling area and the performance arena and dress regulations of Cap/Hat, long western style pants, safe enclosed footwear and a shirt with sleeves must be worn. Exhibitors shall not approach the judge for any reason prior to completion of the judging, unless the exhibitor has finished exhibiting and the request must be made through the Ring Steward. No exhibitor will request information from the Judge, or the decisions made by that Judge, concerning any exhibit at a show, on the day of the show or within the immediate 7 days following the show. Marshalling area is strictly competitors only. One person allowed to assist, they must be a financial member of the club. Once show in progress competitors only allowed in arena, excepting stewards, judge & medical personnel. Show Management reserve the right to alter the order of events before or during the show. Entries Entries accepted on the day but pre-entries appreciated, closing date Friday 22 nd February Entries will not be accepted unless accompanied by full payment, all registration and membership numbers. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN unless notification of withdrawal is accompanied by a veterinary or medical certificate. Risks All persons enter the show and grounds at own risk Approved Safety Helmets must be worn at all times outside of the main show arena. Show Management and property owner will take no responsibility for loss or damage to stock, equipment or personal property. All dogs must be restrained/on leashes at all times. No dogs allowed in marshalling area or arena. Youth All youth competing or taking part in event, must have written permission from their parent/guardian to be at that event as a contestant or participant and in the case of a contest, the parent/guardian must also sign the entry form. All youth competing or taking part in a PHSSA approved event, must be in the care of a responsible adult who is in attendance for the duration of that event, whilst the youth is in attendance at that event. Youth must be 18 years of age or under as of August 1st Youth are not permitted to ride or handle Stallions or Colts in any event. Improver - Full details on page at end of program. Improver may ride any breed or height of horse, Horses Do Not have to be registered with any association, horses can be ridden one or two handed but must be ridden as started in class, no stallions allowed, preference is given to correct attire, but not mandatory. Riders in pre-youth events are not eligible to compete in any other ridden class. Wearing of approved safety helmets is mandatory. These are non-point scoring classes. Amateur/Select/Masters Amateur Current Amateur or Select/Masters Amateur permit must be presented at the request of Show Management. Identification All Registration papers and Membership cards must be presented at the request of Show Management. 6 Improver Riders. This is for both inexperienced & experienced riders on green horses or for riders wanting to learn or try western. Based on rider s ability not the horse, NO RIDDEN STALLIONS Horse does not have to be registered, any breed or height. Horse can be ridden one or two handed but must stay the same all through the class, bit is to be approved bit by PHSSA & national body show is being held under. Dress- shirts to be long sleeved, straw, felt or hard hats, boots must have a heel for western. Western, Stock saddle, or English but correct saddle for class is preferred, Dress code is Western for western classes, English classes are English dress. This show is under AQHA rules so correct saddle & dress is required. Improver Horse This is for inexperienced horses, any height or breed. Improver Youth. Same rules apply but must be under 18 years. Youth not allowed to show or handle Stallions. If both horse & rider have competed in events at state or national shows it is asked that they consider not competing in these events. 6 All Breeds Show Program 2019
