To show understanding of riding the horse forward with a steady tempo into an elastic contact with independent, steady hands and a correctly balanced seat. To show proper geometry of figures in the arean and correct bend (corners and circles) MOVEMNTS 1. TEST A - Enter working trot rising. X - Halt through medium walk. Submission (acceptance of steady contact, attention, and confidence). Rider's position (keeping balance with horse). Rider's effectivemenss of aids (correct bend and preparation of transtions). Geometry and accuracy (correct size and shape of circles and turns). HOW TO SCORE DRESSAGE: 1. Movements: Compute all the Co-Efficient Marks. ( where it shows a small "2" the mark given by the judge is crossed out and doubled. (i.e. if the judge has given a mark of 6 this becomes 12.) 2. Collective Marks: These marks are on the second page of the score sheet and are for GAITS, SUBMISSION, RIDER'S POSITION, RIDER'S EFFECTIVENESS, GEOMETRY and ACCURACY. Where it shows the small "2" once again mark given by the judge is crossed out and doubled. 3. Add the marks for the MOVEMENTS. Write total on first page. 4. Add the marks for the COLLECTIVES. Write the total on second page. 5. Add the two totals together. 6. Check for any ERRORS OF COU SE: These are usually shown as E in a circle, or asterik. Should there be an error of course, marks are deducted as shown at the bottom of the score sheet. One error becomes minus 2 points. Two errors (not uncommon) becomes minus 6 points. Three errors is elimination. 7. Marks are expressed as a percentage. Take each page total (less any errors) and divide by the Total Marks (the perfect score) as shown on the sheet. On a calculator, enter the total marks earned, hit the divide key, enter the perfect score and hit % key. Write the percentage to 3 decimal places in the appropriate spot at the botton of the sheet. Judges please sign individual score sheets on designated line. Thank you. 8. DOUBLE CHECK THE CALCULATIONS. This is MOST IMPORTANT!! Write the marks on the results sheet for each class. Dressage Scores are reported to NSHA V OPEN COMPETITIVE INCENTIVE PROGRAMS such as AHA-OEIP, PAINT- PAC, PtHA - SOAR, HH Freisian - OCAP as PERCENTAGES. NSHA V placings by highest % score to lowest % score as first place to 5th place and reserve.
