2 About A Home for Every Horse A Home for Every Horse was created in 2011 in result to a partnership between the Equine Network, the nation s leading publisher of equine-related content, and The American Horse Council s Unwanted Horse Coalition. The program provides a resource for 501(c)(3) horse rescue organizations. The A Home for Every Horse program helps connect rescue horses in need of homes, in over 600 rescues across the United States, with people looking for horses. To make the connection between rescue horses and homes, rescue organizations can list their horses for free on Equine.com, the world s largest horse marketplace, where they can be seen by 300,000 visitors each month. Rescue organizations involved with A Home for Every Horse are also provided with many great benefits from the sponsors involved with the program. A Home for Every Horse specifically works with sponsors to help provide much needed assistance to rescues around the country. In recent years, Purina has donated a half ton of feed to eligible rescues through A Home for Every Horse. ElectroBraid also offers fencing discounts to registered 501(C)3 organizations. Zoetis, WeatherBeeta, and Tractor Supply provide many great donations during the four annual rescue visits. Supplement to the many great benefits from A Home for Every Horse, the Equine Comeback Challenge was designed to help provide rescue horses with a solid training foundation and subsequently the opportunity for these horses in need to receive a new job and a chance at a forever home. The Equine Comeback Challenge allows rescue horses to attend full time training with trainers from all over the country showcasing the ability of rescue horses. A Home for Every Horse is dedicated to bridging the gap between rescue organizations and people that can help. A Home For Every Horse is our mission, and we want to include your 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization on Equine.com in order to help solve the unwanted horse problem. As a nonprofit rescue organization you can place unlimited rescue ads on Equine.com, putting your rescue horses in front of 300,000 visitors each month. You can also advertise your rescue organization in our Service Ad section. Both opportunities are free to horse rescues with current 501(c)(3) status. There are just a few simple steps you will need to take. In the following pages we will walk you through each step to learn how to upload your rescue horses to Equine.com as well as place a Service Ad for your rescue organization. Please submit your current 501(c)(3) determination letter to Equine.com in the following way: By ahfeh@equine.com Questions: Call Please send an to ahfeh@equine.com to confirm that Equine.com has received your information. A response will be sent as soon as possible. Step 2: Create a New Account for Your Organization on Equine.com 1. Please set up a new or separate Equine.com account for your rescue organization. It is preferred that you choose a username that is similar to, or relates, to the name of your rescue organization. This will be beneficial when creating a service ad for your organization. Usernames can contain letters and numbers and must be one word. * Do not repeate your username for your password. Locate the LOGIN / REGISTRATION page by clicking Login in the upper right hand corner. Once you have created an Equine.com username, send to AHFEH@equine.com to be eligible for free ads. Step 2.1 Example: Rescue organization is A Home for Every Horse Username would be AHomeForEveryHorse. * To be eligible for future offers from AHFEH and our sponsors you will need to be an active participant in our program and complete ALL required steps in this manual. Step 3: Create Your Horse Ads on Equine.com 1. Login using your new rescue organization account. From the homepage (www.equine.

From the homepage ( select Sell Your Horse in the upper right hand corner and then choose the Premium Ad option. The ad will show as $14.95 here but upon selection will reflect as free in the shopping cart. Step 3.1 Rescue Ads Are Placed As Premium Ads 2. Complete the v Details for your rescue horse and hit Continue. You must complete all fields with a red asterik. Please note you can type as much as you wish into the Describe Your Horse section. 3. Advance through the add-on options to the Complete Order page. If you have more rescue horses to add, do so by clicking on the Place Another Ad link on the top right of the Ad Information box and repeat STEP 3, Section 2. Place As Many Rescue Ads As You Would Like 4. Once all the rescue horses you wish to place are in your cart select Place My Order. You are now ready to add photos and manage your rescue horse ads. Step 3.2 Tips for Successful Rescue Ads Keep your rescue s contact information current. Be sure to include a detailed description of the horse available for rescue or adoption, including their abilities and/or limitations, type of rider needed, and any special adoption requirements. Take clear, color photos of your rescue horse, both standing still unsaddled, as well as in action if applicable. Every rescue horse has something to offer! Let people know what that is. 9 Step 4: Add Photos & Manage Your Horse Ads 1. Find the Manage My Ads link in the upper right hand corner of the site. Each rescue ad can have up to six photos. Photos Are An Important Part Of Your Ad! Follow these Steps to Upload Photos 2. If you need to make changes, such as mark the ad as SOLD (adopted in this case), you can do so by clicking on the individual ad in the Ad Manager box to open the Manage Your Ad page for the individual horse. Step When trying to make changes to your ad, be sure you are on the Manage Your Ad page for the individual horse you wish to edit. Use the horizontal toolbar at the top of the page to edit or delete your ads. 4. Congratulations, your ad is now complete and LIVE on Equine.com where 300,000 monthly visitors will have access to view your horse! Step 4.2 Rescue Horse ads are good for 90 days from the time of the Equine.com upgrade. If the horse has not been adopted after 90 days please re-new your ad for free. Step 5: Place Your Free Rescue Organization Service Ad 1. Login using your new rescue organization account (See Step 2). From the homepage (www.equine.

On the services list choose Rescue Organizations and click Place Ad on the List your Rescue Organization Service! page.

Fill in the Service Standard Photo Ad details as completely as possible. It is best to use your Rescue Organization s name as the Ad Title.

10 Step 5: Place Your Free Rescue Organization Service Ad 1. Login using your new rescue organization account (See Step 2). From the homepage ( scroll over Services in the navigation bar and in the drop down menu choose Place An Ad. You can also click Services. On the services list choose Rescue Organizations and click Place Ad on the List your Rescue Organization Service! page. Service Ads are a great way to let people know what you have to offer! Be detailed in your description. 2. Fill in the Service Standard Photo Ad details as completely as possible. It is best to use your Rescue Organization s name as the Ad Title. Be as detailed as you wish in the description section. Be sure to include your organization s website here as well to help drive traffic to your site. Service ads are FREE! Step Once you complete your ad details and advance to the Complete Order page, fill out the requred fields (there will be no charge for your service ad) and click Place My Order to advance and add photos to your Free Service Ad. If you choose to upload images later, find the Manage My Ads link in the upper right hand corner of the site and then follow the instructions in STEP 4 (Add Photos and Manage Your Horse Ads). Share Your Live Ad With Your Friends 2. For your rescue organization, upload photos of your facilities, pictures from special events or even your logo. After uploading photos, your Service Ad is now LIVE on Equine.com. Service ads can have up to five images and are good for 12 months. After 1 year you will need to re-new your ad in the manage my ad area!
