Nothing exaggerated here in this well made houndy bitch. Skull and muzzle on the fine side, but very well constructed. Gentle curve and sweep of top line finishing beautifully over her croup. Well ribbed back with the right amount of spring of rib for her make. Nice balance of angulations and low hocks used well. She moved evenly and competently, but without the underlying look of command and power I hoped for.

She has a super head with the darkest of eyes, beautiful ears, long muzzle with excellent planes, a nicely put together front though obviously needs to develop in chest. She s a tad long in loin, but has a nice croup and a lovely sweep to hindquarters. Although yet to sort herself out, she showed signs of power and freedom in her movement.

He won as he was more balanced with better length of leg to height than the open winner. My notes say he needs more body, whereas the Open winner needs less!

Later, she presented a strong challenge in the Best of Breed class.

He had a handsome, masculine head, dark eyes, well-set ears, strong well-set neck, good forechest, powerful couplings, flaring pelvis and width across the hock, lovely bone throughout, and, standing and moving, commanded attention and admiration.

He has a decent front, good balance all through, and a nice flare of croup. She has a strong loin, good flare of pelvis, no exaggeration in hindquarters, which balance her front well. Really strong six and a half year old. Lots I liked about her; good head and neck, really well laid shoulders and upper arm, good underline and croup. She appeared short on leg, because the angulation of her hindquarters was over exaggerated, and, standing, she repeatedly sank over her back end. I was impressed by her hard muscle, her strong well-coupled loin, good underline and nice hindquarters, but she lost balance, being heavy and overdone around the shoulder, giving a musclebound appearance. A lovely hound for her age, and a delight to speak to! BEST BRACE (2 ENT, 1 ABS) AUGUST CALYPSO & AUGUST RED HOT SALSA Owners: Ellen & Jim Kroll Such a beautifully matched pair! Their head carriage and balance were lovely, and so comfortable as they cruised round in unison. They were denied competition on the day, but were one of the better braces it has been my pleasure to judge.

This girl moved well in the ring with a quiet confidence.
