Here we ll explore glacial valleys surrounded by 14,000ft. peaks, view vast fields of wildflowers and immerse ourselves in nature. We ll load up in vans Saturday morning and head west. We will spend about an hour and a half at the Maroon Bells Scenic Area outside of Aspen and provide lunch while we re there. On the way back, we can take a break and explore the historic town of Aspen and fulfill any shopping desires you may have. Trip Details: $45 per person includes transportation, lunch, snacks, beverages, and park entry fees. Yet, it is essential that wildlife professionals understand the diverse ways that regulated trapping provides environmental & social benefits. This workshop will help participants understand & better communicate the benefits of regulated trapping to wildlife management. Participants will leave with scientifically sound information & be trained in skills that will make them effective communicators on this subject. The founders of Vail were members of the 10th Mountain Division, so we ll learn about the training center that was based at Camp Hale, south of Vail and its impact on current day Colorado. Join us as we take a guided walk on the 1.5 mile trail around the lake that sits at 8,500 elevation. We ll take some time to discuss the history of the area, the history of the park and the natural systems. You will have an opportunity to paddle around in a canoe or kayak and view any of the four trout species found in crystal-clear waters of Sylvan Lake. We will stop by the Visitor Center for a chance to learn more about the picturesque Brush Creek Valley.
