Members have voluntarily decided to become a Club member or to continue his/her Club membership despite all known and unknown risks of serious personal injury and/or death and other damages and losses presented by Club membership. Members acknowledge that skills, equipment, training, and personal discipline that are known to reduce the risks set forth above are within Member s own control, and that despite possessing the requisite skills, training, equipment and personal discipline to reduce risks associated with membership, the risk of serious injury and other harm exist nonetheless; The Harwinton Rod & Gun Club has established a set of rules for the purpose of maintaining the safety of its entire club membership and to secure the future of the club. These rules are to be understood by all members. Violations will be handled directly by the Board of Directors and can be as severe as loss of HRG membership. IGNORANCE OF THE RULES IS NOT AN EXCUSE. Any member who does not attend the seminar and sign off on the attendance sheet will NOT be allowed to use the ranges until they make arrangements to attend the seminar. HOLD HARMLESS WAIVER All Members and Guests must have a current Hold Harmless Waiver on file before engaging in or observing any Trap Activity. Trap SIGN in / SIGN OUT Since trap is a monitored activity (i.e. there is a range officer present running the activity) all sign in and sign out information is collected by the range officer during the activity so no additional information is necessary. TRAP RULES 1. Shooting hours are from 9:30am to sunset every day. 2. You must pay for the round and any ammo you need before leaving the range. 3. When the round is ready to begin you will be called to your station by the Range Officer. 4. When not firing, stand with your gun open at the action, unloaded, and muzzle pointed in a safe direction. 5. In the firing rotation, when the shooter immediately before you calls for a bird, then and only then will you be allowed to slip a shell into the chamber of your shotgun. 6. Call for a bird in a loud voice, using the word pull. A pull is not late until 3 seconds or more have passed after the bird is called for. Note: These are American Trap Association rules. 7. After firing, eject the spent case from your shotgun immediately. 8. There will be no talking on the stations. Reserve your comments until the round is completed.

24 Trap Rules 2 of 2 9. When it s time to change to the next station, you will be instructed to do so by the Range Officer. The shotgun must be unloaded, open at the action, muzzle down, when changing stations. 10. If your shotgun malfunctions, point the muzzle towards the outfield until you clear up the trouble. If you have a misfired shell, point the shotgun towards the outfield and count to thirty. Then eject the shell and load a new shell. You will be allowed to take your shot over again for that reason only. After the round is over, put the misfired shell in the proper container. 11. Shooters will not leave their stations at the end of the round until they are told the range is clear by the Range Officer. When you leave the station, your gun will be open at the action, unloaded and the muzzle down. 12. The rifle range is closed during trap shooting. Alcohol will not be tolerated (see rifle range rules). Any violations will result in your ejection from the shooting range. 13. The minimum age that a family member can participate without a parent or legal guardian present for Friday / Sunday Trap shooting is 16 years old and no guest is permitted.
