2 AIMS To increase the knowledge and confidence of young people in the field of natural life sciences. To highlight ways in which 5 15 year olds can become actively involved in wildlife by assisting with the relevant badges being obtained by their group. OBJECTIVES Ringo s Campers has been established to aid after- school clubs including: Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to obtain relevant badges in wildlife. The objectives of Ringo s Campers are as follows To offer Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts the opportunity to stay overnight at the Wildlife Park to complete relevant wildlife badges. To obtain the Ringo s Campers Badge. To develop in young people a sense of responsibility for the other species we share our planet with. To develop an understanding and knowledge about animal husbandry. To develop young people s confidence in people skills and self- awareness. To utilise our facilities to enable young people to experience interactivity with live animals. To develop an awareness of the importance of teamwork, altruism and community spirit. CAMPING INFORMATION Cost: 45 per child / adult (includes: light refreshments) 50 per child / adult (includes: buffet dinner) Adults required for supervisory ratios are free of charge Price includes: Entrance into Shepreth Wildlife Park Refreshments as per booking arrangement, including packed lunch for the following day Scheduled tours Animal Encounter Session Badge Session Goody Bag with certificate and Ringo s Rangers Badge (value over 10) Group sizes: Minimum Group: 10 children Maximum Group: 40 children Age Restrictions: Minimum age: 5 Years Maximum age: 15 years Supervisory Ratios: 5 11 years old: 1: years old: 1:10

5 CODE OF CONDUCT Campers are asked to act and dress accordingly. Campers are asked to show consideration and respect for all others at all times. Campers must be supervised by Group Leader at all times. All activities are at the participants own risk. SWP management reserves the right to cancel overnight stay of anyone displaying improper behaviour or language. It is the Group Leader s responsibility to ensure the group adheres to the rules set out in the Health & Safety briefing, and that all ages and supervisory ratios have been adhered to. It is the Group Leader s responsibility to ensure the group stays together at all times and does not leave the Discovery Centre between the hours of 19:30 and 09:30, other than the use of the Discovery Centre toilet block. It is the Group Leader s responsibility to address any inappropriate behavior of any members of its group, including the disturbance of sleep of others. SWP accepts no responsibility / liability for activities outside of the pre- arranged Camping session.
