2 Important Information About 2016 Ha Tae Kyung Taekwondo Championship THERE WILL BE NO REGISTRATION ALLOWED AT THE DOOR. NO EXCEPTIONS! Who: Students have been invited from across the southeast to participate in our tournament. There will be representation from North Carolina, South Carolina, California, Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Oklahoma, Virginia, Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, Minnesota, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. Eligibility: Students must be white belt and above to compete in forms and board breaking; Yellow belt and above to compete in sparring. Competitors of any age are welcome. Division: Registration forms are available at the school and are included in this packet. The registration deadline is Monday, November 7th, but early registration is strongly encouraged. Applications received after November7th will be charged an additional $10 dollars late fee. No applications will be accepted after November 7th. Completed applications with registration fees attached may be turned in to your instructors. Registration forms may be mailed or ed in. All ed forms must pay at front check-in desk. Applications may be ed to To avoid late registration, please have all applications turned in before November 7 th. There will be NO at-the-door registration allowed. Where: The competition will be held at the gym in Peachtree Ridge High School, 1555 Old Peachtree Rd. Suwanee, GA Awards: The competition will have no more than 4 competitors. There will be a 1 st place (Gold), 2 nd place (Silver) and two 3 rd places (Bronze) awarded. For form and sparring, the winners of the first two matches will compete for 1 st and 2 nd places. The remaining two competitors of the first matches will both receive third place. Awards will be presented throughout the day as divisions are completed. Awards will consist of Two Gold Taekwondo Invitational medals. Form, Breaking and Sparring competitors will be awarded Two Gold Taekwondo Medals. Competitor ID Cards: All competitors must pick up their ID badges at the check-in desk on Saturday morning during registration. Your ID cards will have all your ring and division information. It is important that you do not lose your card. *Students may replace credential with $10 extra in case lost Coaching: The goal of this tournament is to provide students with competition experience in a friendly environment. Many of the instructors will be responsible for officiating and directing the competition. As a result, their instructors, parents, teammates and senior belts may coach competitors. Please note that coaches are not necessary during form competitions. The instructors will be administering these events directly and will provide assistance and instruction as needed. *VIP passes can not be used as a coach pass Spectators & Tickets: The arena has bleachers style seating for all spectators. There will be a $10 charge for admission. Children under the age of 5 are free. Please note that spectators are not allowed on the competition floor. Food: No food is permitted in the competition area. The concessions stand outside of the gym will be open. Videos and Cameras: Video and picture taking are allowed; however, they must be taken from seating area and awards stands area only.

Form competitors will be judged on correct movements, balance, speed, power and fluidity of technique. * This is an open form competition. If your school practices a different form than those listed above, you are free to do your own. BLACK BELTS *If you have just tested for Black Belt and are wearing a Poom Belt, ask your instructors which belt level you should compete. Dan Form Form will be judged on: 1 st Dan Koryo 2 nd Dan Keumgang 3 rd Dan Taebaek 4 th Dan & up Pyung Won ~ Chun Kwon 1. Accuracy, Speed and Power Judges will score based on: accuracy of techniques during the form; speed and power of each motion and movement in the form. 2.Presentation: Competitor balance, rhythm and good manners from entrance to the completion of the performance are superior to the competitor without balance, rhythm and good manners.

NO SPEED BREAKS or POWER BREAKS will be allowed. Breaking will be judged on: 1.Accuracy, Speed and Power *Breaking on the first attempt is superior to breaking on the second attempt. 2.Presentation: Competitor balance, rhythm and good manner from entrance the completion of the performance are superior to the competitor without balance, rhythm and good manner. The required techniques are the techniques to be performed by the competitor. The presentation of the technique and the number of tries to break the board is what the judges will score.

VALID POINTS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: 1. ONE (1) POINT FOR ATTACK ON CHEST PROTECTOR 2. TWO (2) POINTS FOR A VALID TURNING KICK TO THE CHEST PROTECTOR 3. THREE (3) POINTS FOR HIGH SECTION (See requirements below) light contact 4. FOUR (4) POINTS FOR VALID TURNING KICK TO HIGH SECTION **At the end of second round, 12 point difference rule will be in effect for all belts. WE ARE ALLOWING HIGH SECTION TECHNIQUES FOR BLACK BELTS 8 AND OLDER. THE TECHNIQUES WILL BE SCORED APPROPRIATELY BUT WE ARE ONLY ALLOWING LIGHT CONTACT TO BE MADE. EXCESSIVE HEAD CONTACT WILL RESULT IN A ONE POINT DEDUCTION AND DISQUALIFICATION. High Section Scoring: Sparring Time KNOCKOUTS ARE NOT ALLOWED. 1. However, the defender will be disqualified if unable to fight in 1 minute.
