3 COURSE STATS: Course: Headwalls Speed Skiing Track Start Elevation: 2080m Finish Elevation: 1855m Length of Track: 325m Average Slope: 55% Estimated Speeds: 160 to 175 km/h Course record: km/h, Kenny Dale (CAN) FIS Homologation: # 8479/01/07 (Headwall) Velocity Challenge Race Entry Speed 1 (S1) & Speed 2 (S2) & Speed 2 Juniors (S2J) The Velocity Challenge and Speed Ski World Cup March 4 nd to 7th 2018 at Sun Peaks Resort, BC-Canada- All racers must hold an active and valid FIS Speed Ski number to compete. Racer Entry Fee- $250 CDN. Includes discounted ski passes, discounted hotel room pricing, $15 Lunch or Après Ski Voucher each day and a 50 % off dinner voucher (Various restaurants) each day, and a 2018 event T-Shirt. All Volunteers and Racers will be required to complete the Medical Info form as well as the race registration forms. All these forms will be available at race registration. All racers must pre-register on no later than 24hrs prior to first Team Captains Meeting (Registration deadline is 8 pm on Friday March 2nd, 2018) Team Captains Meeting- March 3 th, 8 pm- Heffley Conference Room, Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. All racers and volunteers must have completed race registration by Saturday evening March 3rd 5pm 7pm at the Heffley Conference Room in the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel (Registration for racers with travel delays may be done on Sunday morning only if necessary. Please try to register on Saturday evening however. Lift Tickets Tickets & Hotels The Sun Peaks Resort LLP lift ticket policy for the 2018 Velocity Challenge/ FIS Speed Ski World Cup is as follows; The 30 top FIS ranked racers in the S1, S2 and S2J classes at the end of last season, in attendance at the Sun Peaks Velocity Challenge/ World Cup (both Men, Women and Juniors) will receive lift passes at no charge. The top ranks as follows will qualify for complimentary passes from Sun Peaks Resort LLP. Top 15 Mens S1 Top 5 Ladies S1 Top 5 Mens S2 Top 3 Ladies S2 Top 1 Mens S2J Top 1 Ladies S2J

4 All other racers will receive the Sun Peaks Resort discount of 40% off regular lift pass pricing as per host resort policy. All Racers, Coaches, Trainers must register with the Race Office at Race Registration to receive their 40% Lift Pass discount. The event entry fee of $ is applicable for all coaches and trainers on course and includes participation in the restaurant meal discounts, daily sponsored event socials and wind up party sponsored events. Hotels / Accommodation Please note that all resort hotels have a limited number of rooms available so please book your room early if you know you are coming to the 2018 event. Both West Jet and Air Canada service the Kamloops Airport. Please be aware that small commuter aircraft have limited baggage room and may not be able to handle multiple sets of speed skis on the same flight. Check with your airline beforehand.
