3 EVENT INFORMATION FLOWER CEREMONY The competitors ranked one through three in the XCO competitions are requested to present themselves for the fl ower ceremony in the center of the fi nish area stadium immediately after the end of the competition. AWARD CEREMONY The award ceremonies will be held according to the offi cial program. Athletes will be rewarded in all men and women XCO Elite categorie. Athletes placed one, two and three of each competition will be awarded medals in gold, silver and bronze accompanied by certifi cates for the TOP 6. The national anthem of the winner will be played. COMPETITION RULES The competitions will be held according to the valid UCI Rules in their current version. PRIZE-MONEY PAYMENT Price money will be paid in cash in the event offi ce straight after each race when the results are confi rmed offi cial. TRANSPORTATION SERVICE The Organizing Committee is able to organize transport upon the request from the Prague, Brno, Vienna or Bratislava Airports to Nové Město and back. As many of the World Cups, including Nové Město na Moravě, have been a centre to organized bicycle thefts remind all of you to be watchful and not to leave your bike unattended in the World Cup area as well as in places of your accommodation. If any of the teams wishes to take extra safety precautions, we offer our security agency for hiring of personal safety control, either at your team area or the place of your accommodation. 5 LOCATION VENUE The centre for the event is the area of the XC skiing, biathlon and newly also MTB stadium named Vysočina Arena by Nové Město na Moravě, the Czech Republic. The stadium is located in the heart of the Vysocina highland, one of the most visited and most beautiful tourist regions in the Czech Republic. The stadium at Nové Město na Moravě lies 620 metres above sea-level. The terrain stretches between metres above sea-level. The venue is about 30 km distant from the major highway connecting the capital Prague with the 2nd largest city in the country Brno. 8 MEDIA CENTRE MEDIA CENTRE The Nove Mesto Media Centre is located very close to the start and fi nish line in the main tribune with back door entry (marked in orange behind the stands B). Directions are available throughout the area and the building is within easy walking distance of the media car park.the centre will be provided with around 80 power sockets /European/German type/, but in busy times please note you may need to share this facility. A plasma screen will also be provided with a live television broadcast from the race. MEDIA CENTRE OPENING HOURS Thursday May 18 16:00-19:00 Friday May 19 9:00-19:00 Saturday May 20 9:00-20:00 Sunday May 21 8:00-20:00 PARKING All Media pass holders will be directed to park in the Team/ Media car park which is located near the Team Zone A for easy access to the Media Centre, approx. 200 meters away. All accredited journalists and photographers may ask for a Press Parking card at the Accreditation Offi ce. Without this card you will not be allowed to the Team / Media Parking. If you will have problems, please contact Jan Němec at accreditations@mtbs.cz Please try to share space in your cars as much as possible to allow us to maximize the space available for Teams and Media. 9 MEDIA SPECIFIC INFO REFRESHMENTS Tea, coffee, water and sandwiches will be provided throughout the three days and there are a number of food stalls in the Event Village where food can be bought. OFFICIALS AREAS Media may not enter the following areas: VIP, Timing cabin, Feed and Technical Areas on the course or the Anti-doping Area. TEAM TECHNICAL AREA Media are allowed to enter the team technical area in the Event Village but you must ask the permission of the team manager before conducting any interviews. PHOTOGRAPHY BIBS Photographers will be issued with bibs that must be worn at all times when photographing in the Event Village and around the course. Bibs require a CZK deposit of 50 EUR or 1300 CZK, which will be returned when you hand back the bib at the end of the event. RED PHOTOGRAPHY BIBS are for priority access photographers who are allowed anywhere else on the course as well as the designated photo areas, the start and fi nish lines. YELLOW BIBS are provided to all photographers accredited with access to photo zones around the course and to the start line. Photo zones will be clearly marked. BLUE BIBS are allocated for television crews. All other media (journalists) must stay off the course in designated areas. If you have any queries about photography please speak to one of our media centre staff. PHOTOGRAPHY RULES We would like to stress that at no time should photographers step beyond the tape barriers, except for photographers with dark green bibs. Please adhere to these rules and listen to marshals when instructed. Flash photography is allowed, but please be considerate of competitors when using fl ash during events. TV CREWS As specifi ed above camera crews will be issued with Blue bibs. Although a limited amount of competition fi lming is allowed for atmospherics, rights for continuous fi lming of the event are restricted to the rights holders for the event. START LISTS AND RESULTS The rider entry list swill be available on the Swiss Timing website, and a latest print version will be made available in the media centre. Please bear in mind that due to last minute changes, this list cannot be guaranteed as accurate so please refer to start lists at media centre when necessary. MEDAL CEREMONIES Medal ceremonies will take place according to the schedule in the program. Photographers have a cordoned-off section in front of the podium where they will be able to stand. INTERVIEWS + PRESS CON- FERENCES Riders will be available for interview after each podium presentation in the mix zone, after riders have done their podium presentation. Teams, media, VIPs must collect their accreditations and parking cards in the accreditation offi ce located inside the Cultural house in the centre of Nové Město na Moravě (about 3 km from the WC arena). NO ACCREDITATION = NO ACCESS THE OPENING HOURS OF THE ACCREDITATION OFFICE Thursday May 18 8:00 16:00 Friday May 19 8:00 18:00 Saturday May 20 8:00 18:00 Sunday May 21 8:00 15:00 Note: Those of you, who will arrive on Wednesday 17th May may collect your accreditaion passes/cards directly in the Event offi ce inside the WC arena. On 17th May the Event Offi ce will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. On all days following teams have to collect the accreditations in the Accreditation offi ce. TEAM ZONE ACCESS Teams are allowed to set up their stands / areas starting from Wednesday May 17 at 3 p.m.. Electricity and water (for teams who ordered the service) will be available on Thursday May 18 from 10 a.m. IMPORTANT: THE ENTIRE STADIUM IS LOCATED INSIDE NA- TURE PROTECTED AREA. WASHING OF BIKES AND VEHICLES (CARS, CARAVANS, TRUCKS) IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN- SIDE THE TEAM ZONES A + B! ALL BIKES MAY BE WASHED ONLY IN A DESIGNATED BIKE-WASH AREA. 13 BIRELL MTB NIGHT RACE COURSE PLAN 3.5 km / 130 m BIRELL MTB NIGHT RACE Traditional Birell MTB Night Race will be held on Saturday evening. It s that kind of a race that you can push hard from start to fi nish; or rather enjoy it in the training tempo, but with maximum fun! The race takes place on lightened biathlon tracks and many participants often start in bizarre costumes and show off some truly amazing stunts. But there are also some guys, who take it 100% seriously: the front of the pack is pushing it full throttle! Don t hesitate to take part even if you want to take it relaxed and without a costume, you defi nitely won t be alone out there! The race circuit is over 3 km long with wide and paved surface. The race is held for 40 minutes + 1 lap. At the start line you will meet World Cup team mechanics and other team members including even the Team Managers of renowned names. Birell MTB Night Race is defi nitely something you should t miss! And if you don t participate as an athlete, a role of spectator is a must!
