1 Division 1 Cadet InKart Round 5 21 st May 2017 By Stefan Nikolov Rory Burke - Division 1 s Winner! Round 5 of Daytona MK s InKart Championship started off with a lot of sunshine, dry track and fast laps. Division 1 s grid increased, reaching almost record levels, following well-deserved promotions for Division 2 drivers. That, coupled with the return of old Champions and the rise of new stars, was a guarantee for next level racing. Heat 1 Ben Hawker started from Pole position, followed by Robson Knox in 2 nd and Jayden Neal- Holder in P3. Neal-Holder tried taking the early lead, but Hawker did not give in and retained his P1. Both Knox and Hawker dropped to the back, though, as Jayden Neal-Holder and Jensen Pughe both rocketed through around Turn 9 and took P1 and P2, respectively. While Neal-Holder pulled away into the lead, Sam Cole took 2 nd place from Pughe, having a better exit out of Turn 10. Hawker now had some defending to do, as Jessica White and Jack Stewart were behind and trying to go past. White made a move and took P5 from Stewart on Lap 4. The chequered flag went to Jayden Neal-Holder, ahead of Sam Cole and Jensen Pughe in 2 nd and 3 rd Heat 2 Archie Styant was the pole sitter for heat 2, with 2 nd and 3 rd place going to Daniel Munro and Jayden Neal-Holder, respectively. Daniel Munro quickly gained the lead around Turn 4, with Neal-Holder climbing up to 2 nd place, as well. Archie Styant managed to hold on to P3, but he was now under pressure from Toby Purbrick and Fraser Brunton, with Purbrick eventually going past for the spot on Lap 2, and Brunton further overtook on the exit of Turn 6. With Purbrick pulling away, Brunton was in a solitary P4 for the time being, but managed to come closer, and was now just 0.4 sec behind. The chequered flag went out to Daniel Munro, followed by Jayden Neal- Holder and Toby Purbrick in 2 nd and 3 rd Heat 3 Toby Purbrick started from Pole position, 2 nd place went to Jessica White and Rory Burke had P3. White had some work to do, as Burke overtook on Lap 1 and she had to defend from Yiannis Charalambous and Archie Styant. Burke later took the lead around Turn 6, and Purbrick now had to fend off White and the rest of the pack, who were quite dense throughout the heat. White made a move on Purbrick, slotting in 2 nd around Turn 9. The heat win went to Rory Burke, followed by Jessica White and Toby Purbrick in P2 and P3, respectively. Heat 4 Sam Wilson led the pack from P1, followed by Fraser Brunton in 2 nd and Kasper Marriott in 3 rd place. The opening lap saw Marriott dropping to P4, after being overtaken by Daniel Munro and Archie Fisher. Danny Gould made his way into P5, and the whole pack was quite close on Lap 2. With Munro and Wilson pulling away, Gould overtook Marriott and later, Fisher, around Turn 11, and secured the provisional P3. Fisher later upped the pace, overtaking back for the spot. With the chequered flag dropping, the heat went to Sam Wilson, with Daniel Munro narrowly escaping in 2 nd place, with Archie Fisher coming in 3 rd. Heat 5 The pole sitter for this heat was Jack Stewart, with P2 going to Yiannis Charalambous and Rory Burke starting from P3. Burke did not hesitate to slingshot past for 2 nd place, but came in too hot at Turn 11 and caused an incident, which resulted in an official warning and, unfortunately for Stewart, that dropped him to the back. That allowed Daniel Munro, Sam Cole and Fraser Brunton to go past, with Munro eventually taking the lead. It didn t last long, though, as Brunton went past around Turn 10 on Lap 4, with Munro and Cole now being in 2 nd and 3 rd, respectively. Munro took a lastminute risk and dived down the inside of Brunton at Turn 11 before the chequered flag, securing the lead and the win, as well. Sam Cole took P2 after also overtaking Brunton, who ultimately came in P3.

2 Heat 6 Sam Cole led the pack from Archie Fisher in 2 nd and Danny Gould in 3 rd place. Fisher had a bad start and got overtaken at Turn 2, but regained his position around Turn 5. Danny Gould now had P2, but was under pressure from Fisher and Sam Wilson. Fisher s pace was evident, though, as he made a move and secured P2 at the entrance of Turn 2 on Lap 2. With the chequered flag dropping, the win went to Sam Cole, followed by Archie Fisher in 2 nd and Sam Wilson in P3, after Gould ran wide at Turn 6 on the penultimate lap. Heat 7 Eddie Key was the last heat s Pole sitter, with P2 going to Jensen Pughe and Kasper Marriott in 3 rd place. Marriott took the lead around Turn 10, leaving Eddie Key in 2 nd place. However, he lost his positions after colliding with the tyre wall as a result of a battle with Danny Gould. Gould later took the lead around Turn 6, Marriott remained in 2 nd place, with Jensen Pughe now in P3. The chequered flag went out to Danny Gould, followed by Kasper Marriott and Jensen Pughe in P2 and P3, respectively. C Final Jack Stewart started from pole position, followed by Yiannis Charalambous and Archie Styant in 2 nd and 3 rd Stewart was under pressure from the start, with Charalambous now being less than 0.5 seconds behind, with both of them separating themselves from the rest of the pack. Archie Styant was in a solitary race, and so were Robson Knox and Ben Hawker. Knox was slowly catching up to Styant, and by Lap 3 was decreasing the gap by the lap. However, drama was present on Lap 4, as both Knox and Styant span on the exit of Turn 11, promoting Hawker to P3. The chequered flag went out to Jack Stewart, followed by Yiannis Charalambous in 2 nd and Ben Hawker in P3. B Final Archie Fisher started from pole position, followed by Rory Burke in 2 nd and Fraser Brunton in 3 rd. Fisher was faced with tough competition, as both Burke and Brunton were directly behind, and pushing hard for positions, with Burke attempting to pass on many occasions, but to no avail yet. Jensen Pughe also had to defend from Toby Purbrick and Jack Stewart, but Stewart went past and Purbrick was now in a battle with Kasper Marriott for P6. Burke eventually found a way and went for the lead around Turn 4, leaving Fisher vunerable to Brunton. Stewart also made a move on Pughe, securing P4 and he was now gaining on the leaders. The chequered flag went out, however, to mark the win for Rory Burke, with Fraser Brunton and Archie Fisher taking 2 nd and 3 rd A Final Pole position went to Daniel Munro, with Sam Cole in 2 nd and Jayden Neal-Holder in 3 rd place. Neal-Holder took P2 on the opening Lap, and Danny Gould took P3 after Sam Cole dropped to last after running wide at several corners. Rory Burke had a consistent pace throughout Lap 3 and 4, and gained 2 nd around Turn 11. Munro had good pace, but was unable to build a gap of more than 0.5 seconds from Burke and Gould, Neal-Holder and Jessica White, who were separated by less than 1 second. Burke eventually cracked Munro s defence, taking the lead around Turn 4 on the penultimate lap, but Munro was now up against Gould, who was ready to attack. Fortunately, the chequered flag went just in time to mark the win for Burke, with Daniel Munro and Danny Gould taking 2 nd and 3 rd place, respectively. C Final Results 1. Jack Stewart 2. 3 Division 1 Junior InKart Round 5 21 st May 2017 By Stefan Nikolov Fraser Brunton On Top! With Fraser Brunton returning in Top form, he was looking like the man to beat on the grid. However, with Katherine White, Robert Taylor, the newly-promoted Ethan Fannon, William Davison and Harry Charalambous among the contenders, it was anybody s race. Heat 1 Robert Taylor started from pole, followed by Joe Williams in P2 and Rio Le Conte in 3 rd place. The pack had a good start, but Williams overtook for the lead at Turn 2, and pulled away quickly, leaving Taylor to defend from Le Conte, but Le Conte went past for P2 on the exit of Turn 6. Taylor returned the favour and took P2 around Turn 5, as Le Conte ran very wide and lost out. Harry Charalambous was patiently waiting in 4 th place, and soon enough, after a double overtake on the entrance of Turn 10, he was now running 2 nd. With the Top 3 being more than 5 seconds ahead of P4, the chequered flag went out to Joe Williams, followed by Harry Charalambous in 2 nd and Robert Taylor in P3. Heat 2 The lights went out to Angus Tillyer, with Harry Charalambous and William Davison in 2 nd and 3 rd Charalambous went past for P1, after Tillyer dropped down at Turn 2 on the opening lap, while Fraser Brunton took P3 around Turn 1 on Lap 2. He later caught up to Harry Charalambous and overtook for the lead, now starting to build his gap. Davison was in P3, having to now fend off Angus Tillyer. With the chequered flag going out, Fraser Brunton took the heat win, followed by Harry Charalambous in 2 nd and Angus Tillyer taking P3 after overtaking Davison at Turn 10 on the last lap. Heat 3 The pole sitter was Eden Rosenfield, followed by Fraser Brunton and Rio Le Conte in P2 and P3, respectively. Brunton took the lead around Turn 4, with Rosenfield being in P2 and Rio Le Conte keeping a close 3 rd place, ready to pounce for P2. Harry Charalambous, meanwhile, had to do some defending, as Katherine White and Kyle Dunford were running less than 0.4 seconds behind. Brunton took the race win, with Eden Rosenfield and Rio Le Conte coming in 2 nd and 3 rd Heat 4 Pole position went to Ethan Fannon, with Kyle Dunford and Katherine White starting from 2 nd and 3 rd With a lap gone, Fraser Brunton, who started in last, was now in P5 and challenging William Davison for P4. Katherine White took P2 around Turn 2, and Dunford now had to defend from Brunton and William Davison. The chequered flag went out Ethan Fannon, who took the win by a margin of more than 3 seconds, followed by Katherine White in 2 nd and Kyle Dunford in 3 rd place. B Final William Davison led the first final for the Juniors, with P2 and P3 going to Eden Rosenfield and Robert Taylor, respectively. Davison led the way confidently, but Taylor and Rosenfield were absolutely on it and the battle for P2 was fierce, with Taylor emerging in the spot temporarily. Kyle Dunford, meanwhile, was in a patient P4, and keeping it steady, but his pace was not as fast to challenge for a Top 3 finish just yet. Taylor was on the attack again, displaying good rhythm, but not sufficient for the lead, as Davison was pulling away. On lap 4, however, Taylor made a beautiful move on the inside of Turn 10, securing the lead. Rosenfield was now in the mix, being just 0.3 seconds behind P2, but was overtaken by Kyle Dunford around Turn 5. He returned the position around Turn 10, and with the chequered flag going out, the win went to Robert Taylor, followed by William Davison in 2 nd and Eden Rosenfield in 3 rd place.

4 A Final The lights went out to Fraser Brunton, 2 nd place went to Harry Charalambous and Joe Williams started in P3. Brunton had a terrific launch off the line, and by the end of Lap 1 had a huge lead. Williams took 2 nd around Turn 10 on Lap 2 and kept the position, with Charalambous being in a consistent P3. Ethan Fannon took P4 from Katherine White, and she now had to fend off Robert Taylor for the remainder of the race. The chequered flag and round Win went to Fraser Brunton, followed by Joe Williams and Katherine White in 2 nd and 3 rd place, respectively, after White reclaimed her spot at Turn 10 on the last lap. 5 The Division 2 Grid was, as always, full of eager and competitive talent. With the 2 nd promotion window past, who would step up to the plate and stamp their mark on Division 2? Division 2 Cadet InKart Round 5 21 st May 2017 By Stefan Nikolov Robbie Hoare s Got What It Takes! Heat 1 Division 2 s first Cadet pole sitter for the day was Ronnie Coburn, followed by Ryan Hedge and Jake Butland in 2 nd and 3 rd A lap down, Hedge and Coburn were in the battle for the lead, being less than a second off each other and more than 6 seconds ahead of Joshua Jones, who overtook for P3 on the opening lap. Leo Scott received a penalty for taking advantage by contact on the entrance of Turn 4, which dropped his chances of good points for the heat. Tazio Nicholas and Sam Sanders were also having a great battle, with Nicholas still remaining in front till the very end. The chequered flag went to Ronnie Coburn, followed by Ryan Hedge in 2 nd after a great drive, and Joshua Jones in 3 rd place. Heat 2 Leo Scott led the pack from P1, with Charlie Cusack in 2 nd and Kaizer Akhtar in 3 rd place. Scott pulled away quickly, but Cusack lost his position to Akhtar, who slid past at Turn 3. Cusack, though, got the spot back by the end of Turn 10. Akhtar later ran wide at Turn 2, losing out on P3 to Nicholas Gilbert and Malachi Henry. Cusack also span on the entrance of Turn 10 with a lap to go, dropping to the back and promoting Henry to P2. Akhtar regained 3 rd place by overtaking Gilbert and Henry and was now on the defence, as Henry was pressuring from behind. The time ran out, however, and the win went to Leo Scott, followed by Kaizer Akhtar in 2 nd and Malachi Henry in 3 rd place. Heat 3 The lights went out to Nicholas Gilbert, with 2 nd and 3 rd place going to Kip Morgan and Sam Sanders, respectively. Gilbert had a great start and built a gap by the end of Lap 1, but Morgan and the pack were still close behind. Sam Sanders was 3 rd still, but Tom Ryan and Lily Jeffs were pressuring for the spot. Jeffs ran wide at Turn 10 and dropped to the back, allowing Robbie Hoare to gain 4 th place, ahead of Nathan Ampofo-Anim and Tanish Potdar. Gilbert took the chequered flag, followed by Kip Morgan in 2 nd and Sam Sanders in 3 rd place. Heat 4 The pole sitter was Joshua Jones, P2 went to Tazio Nicholas and Riley Bishop started in 3 rd. Bishop had a good run until Turn 4, where he span, losing out on a lot of positions and promoting Tom Ryan to 3 rd place. And that s all Ryan needed, as he was now in the battle for 2 nd place, putting pressure on Nicholas. Nicholas ran wide and lost his space at Turn 5, but it was Kip Morgan who emerged in P2 after keeping close to the leaders and was now starting to chase after the lead. Charlie Cusack also overtook for P3 and was putting a great effort, but Morgan was far away, and Jones was even further ahead in the lead. With the chequered flag dropping, Jones had an undisputed win, followed by Kip Morgan in 2 nd and Charlie Cusack in 3 rd place. Heat 5 Adam Thomas started from pole, with Jensen John starting in 2 nd and Robbie Hoare in 3 rd place. Ronnie Coburn took the lead after a fantastic launch off the line, but Thomas was not satisfied and started challenging for the position straight away. Robbie Hoare was still in a consistent P3 after Jensen John dropped to the back as a result from a spin. Kaizer Akhtar had a solid 4 th place for the time being, but it was not enough, as the Top 3 were slowly pulling away. Coburn managed to open a small gap, but Thomas and Hoare were less than 0.5 seconds behind. With the chequered flag going out, it was a narrow win for Coburn, with Thomas just holding on to 2 nd place after a bad exit out of Turn 11, and Robbie Hoare taking P3, just 0.05 sec behind. Heat 6 Harrison Smith, Nathan Ampofo-Anim and Robbie Hoare had P1, P2 and P3,

6 respectively. Hoare took off from the start and took the lead, holding on to it till Lap 3, where he got overtaken by Ronnie Coburn. Coburn also broke into the 59-sec lap times, and took his 3 rd win of the day, with Hoare and Lily Jeffs in 2 nd and 3 rd place, respectively, after Jeffs overtook Ampofo-Anim on the penultimate lap around Turn 6. Heat 7 Tanish Potdar, Kaizer Akhtar and Ryan Hedge started from 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd Potdar led the way with confidence, with Akhtar following closely after a good start on his own. That was, until the entrance of Turn 10, where he locked his brakes and span, and lost out on all his positions. Akhtar took the lead, with Hedge and Adam Thomas moving up a position each. Hedge was on the defence, though, as Thomas was pressuring for P2, being just 0.4 seconds behind. Time was not enough, though, as the chequered flag went out, marking Akhtar s first win of the day, followed by Ryan Hedge and Adam Thomas in 2 nd and 3 rd Heat 8 Lloyd Kay led the pack from pole, with Tom Ryan and Riley Bishop in 2 nd and 3 rd With a lap down, Kay had a good lead, but Riley Bishop overtook around Turn 5 and gained P1. With the chequered flag going out, Lily Jeffs won her first heat after demonstrating outstanding pace and consistency. Malachi Henry and Sam Sanders finished in 2 nd and 3 rd C Final Tanish Potdar started from pole position, followed by Tom Ryan and Charlie Cusack in 2 nd and 3 rd Potdar led the pack after a lap down, Ryan escaped in a solitary P2, but it was Tazio Nicholas who made good progress. After starting from P5, he made his way to 2 nd after overtaking Tom Ryan around Turn 6. Charlie Cusack dropped to the back after spinning at Turn 2 on Lap 3, promoting Ryan to P3. With a lap to go, Potdar had a monster lead and with the chequered flag going out, it was an undisputed win for Potdar, with Tazio Nicholas and Tom Ryan following through for 2 nd and 3 rd B Final Lily Jeffs led the pack from P1, with 2 nd place going to Kip Morgan and Nicholas Gilbert starting 3 rd. The battle for the win was an intense fight that went down to the flag Heat 1 Louisa Bell started from pole, followed by Charlie Pinkney in P2 and James Costin in P3. Olly Hood, however, took the lead from Pinkney around Turn 4. James Costin was now in 3 rd place, defending from Alex Simmons, who was less than a sec behind. The chequered flag went out to Hood, who took the win by a margin of more than 3.5 seconds, followed by James Costin and Alex Simmons in 2 nd and 3 rd place, respectively, after Charlie Pinkney s penalty was applied. Heat 2 The pole position went to Jack McAuley, Reeza Ansari started in 2 nd, and 3 rd place went to Danny Gould. Ansari had a slow start and lost his 2 nd place to Gould by Turn 2 on Lap 1. He later dropped further after Euan Levey took P3, around Turn 1. Gould took the lead around Turn 6 on Lap 2, with McAuley now in a very close 2 nd place, but Levey was putting a lot of pressure from P3. He eventually went through, and the Top 3 were now a good 3 seconds ahead of Reeza Ansari, who was in a solitary P4. Heat 3 Toby Sporn led the pack from pole position, followed by Alex Simmons in 2 nd and Euan Levey in 3 rd place. Euan Levey had a fantastic start, overtaking for P2 and subsequently the lead, and by the end of Lap 1 was ahead of Danny Gould and Toby Sporn, after Alex Simmons lost out after having to yield. It was short-lived, though, as he ran wide on the exit of Turn 9, and the lack of grip off the racing line cost him the lead, promoting Danny Gould to P1. From that point on, he built a quick gap, and a lap later, he took the win by more than 4 seconds, with Levey and Alex Simmons taking 2 nd and 3 rd Heat 4 Olly Hood led the pack from P1, P2 and P3 went to Ali Mirzai and Ben Page, respectively. Simmons overtook for P2 after an intelligent move around Turn 5, tricking Mirzai into over defence. Levey was looking untouchable, but it was Toby Sporn who was after more points, trying to go past for P2. The chequered flag marked the win for Euan Levey, followed by Alex Simmons in 2 nd place after a great defensive driving, and Toby Sporn rounded up the Top 3 after he took the spot on the last lap. Sporn did not give in, however, and started looking for opportunities to go back past. Jack McAuley was in a solitary P3, but was keeping his distance patiently, waiting for the leaders to start making mistakes. Soon enough, Pinkney ran wide on the exit of Turn 5, but managed to keep it together and avoid being overtaken by McAuley. Ali Mirzai was also in a solitary drive, 3 seconds clear of the next closest drivers. 9 International InKart Round 5 21 st May 2017 By Stefan Nikolov Josh Davis and Matthias Reed-Simpson Triumph! Round 5 of the Senior InKart Championship took place on a sunny Sunday afternoon, with the temperature and conditions proving favourable, as the track was dry and hot and quick lap times were looking possible. Far off the track record, though, as this time, it was the Cliff Drop Layout that the drivers had to go through. Proven to be quite the challenge before, Cliff corner was looking dry and fast, ready for some exciting afternoon racing. SuperPole Quali started with Katherine White as the first out of the Pits, and the first to subsequently record a power lap. Josh Davis topped the provisional chart, however, with a best lap time of , with Tom Bush and Katherine White following in 2 nd and 3 rd place, respectively. International Lights Podium Ian Redman, who almost broke the Track Record a couple of weeks ago, also joined the battle, holding a provisional P4 and Mattias Read-Simpson rounded up the Top 5. It was a first-time success for Davis, after having moved up from the Junior ranks. The second part of Qualifying also saw good lap times, but no one was able to move Josh Davis from the top spot and he had the pole position. Jack Mayor managed to knock Tom Bush from P2 to P3 with a lap time of , followed by Bush with Katherine White and Ian Redman rounded up the Top 5. Ian Redman was now in a battle with Dean Thomas, who overtook for P4 on the entrance of Turn 7 and was looking promising, but he also lost the back end and ran wide before Turn 8, allowing Redman to gain back his place, as well as for Oscar Lancaster to go past for P5. Jordan Greenaway, who was in P11 had some defending to do, as Harvey Reed, John Donnelly and Graeme Cobb were all on his tail, with Cobb trying to squeeze past every chance he got. Further up, Scott Johnson and Stuart Norman were battling out for P9, with Johnson successfully defending right up to the end. The chequered flag marked the win for Josh Davis, followed by Tom Bush in 2 nd place, with Katherine White taking the P3 spot. Suffering a collision at Turn 10, Purse dropped to P6. Simao Faia was in 4 th place provisionally, and holding it a good 3 seconds away from Katherine White, who was now in P5 after climbing up the ladder towards the latter part of the race. Jack Mayor was in a solitary P6, with Oscar Lancaster being the next closest rival, about 3 seconds away. Scott Taylor s lead was consistent and he was looking good for the win. Graeme Cobb made a move and overtook for P2 on the exit of Turn 10, while Fenton s pace was enough for 3 rd but no further. The chequered flag went to Taylor, followed by Cobb in 2 nd and Fenton coming in P3, with Simao Faia and Katherine White rounding up the Top 5. The 2 nd part of the race saw Taylor climb up to P3, and Tom Bush also overtook Jack Mayor for P3 around Turn 9. Mayor returned the favour and regained the position around Turn 10. Charlie Fenton, meanwhile, was in a battle for P9, fending off Dean Thomas and Simao Faia.
