During the closure of Business 40, you may need to use a detour to reach this area. Select the road you would normally use to enter downtown Winston-Salem, and follow the detailed directions provided for that road. 2. US 52 South 7. Business 40 West 1. Route option using Business 40 East from the Medical Center: Follow Business 40 East to Peters Creek Parkway and turn right at the top of the ramp. Follow Peters Creek Parkway a short distance and turn left on Broad Street. Follow Broad Street to Fifth Street and turn right. Follow Fifth Street to Main Street and turn right. Follow Main Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and turn right to the Downtown Health Plaza. Route option using surface streets rather than Business 40: Exit the Medical Center and turn right on Cloverdale Avenue. Follow Cloverdale Avenue to First Street and turn right. Follow First Street until you reach Peters Creek Parkway and turn left. Follow Peters Creek Parkway a short distance and turn left on Broad Street. Follow Broad Street to Fifth Street and turn right.
