2 Pre-Event Drivers Briefing Notes DRIVERS BRIEFING NOTES-SUPPLIED CHIEF STEWARD [SR] THE CIRCUIT The pit lane maximum speed limit is 35 miles per hour for all events Cars entering or leaving their pit box must do so safely A driver will be judged to have left the track if all four wheels of the car go beyond the white or painted line. Drivers must not put any wheels on or over the solid line (Drivers right) at the pit exit. [SR] PRACTICE & QUALIFYING Access to the Pit Lane and the circuit is via the Pre-Grid staging area. This is in the area near to the Media Center. Teams are not to take any cars to the Pre-Grid before the stated opening time, any team doing so will be turned away h At the beginning of Practice and Qualifying sessions, cars will be dispatched from the Pre-Grid to their Pit Boxes approximately 5 minutes prior to the start of the session. All cars shall be staged at 45 degrees in their pit box facing pit exit. - The Pit Exit will be closed 1 minute before the end of each session. - At the checkered flag, all Drivers need to enter the Pit Lane and proceed to the Paddock or Parc Fermé as required. Drivers must not stop in their pit boxes. [SR] RACES 1.18 Cars will be pre-assembled as before and then enter the circuit into the Pit Lane. This applies for all races Any car that fails to maintain its position during the Formation Lap must not overtake or seek to resume its original starting position and must fall back to the rear of the class. Gaps in the grid must not be filled by following cars All races will be rolling starts apart from the 2 nd TC races, which will be standing starts At the end of the Formation Lap for rolling starts, if the cars are formed correctly, the Pace Car will enter the Pit Lane and the leading car will set the pace at 50-55mph. A Green Flag signifies the start of the race and racing begins throughout the field at that time Standing start races will be signaled from the gantry at the far end of the front straight At the end of each race, competitors will pass the checkered flag, complete one cooling down lap and then exit the circuit through the Pit Lane as before. Drivers must not stop in their pit boxes. [SR] SAFETY All entrants must have a properly licensed and working pit to car radio Drivers are reminded of the regulations regarding yellow flags (SR 1.10) The On-board Yellow Light is activated by Race Control indicating a Full Course Yellow situation 1.11 Driving Conduct - It is the responsibility of all competitors to avoid physical contact, drive in a manner compatible with general safety and as a minimum, to the standard of a reasonably competent driver. 4 Technical Notes CREW CHIEF NOTES RADIOS (SR 1.8.2): SR = SPORTING REGULATION TR = TECHNICAL REGULATION RACE CONTROL FREQUENCY MHZ. DPL-723. ALL FREQUENCIES MUST BE REGISTERED PADDOCK PARKING AND OFFICIAL SCALES (SR1.6), (SR1.12.3): Load in only is Wednesday, 3/21/18 from 9:00AM 12:00PM. Transporters may open at (12pm GT / 1pm TC). Please display transporter details on clearly visible plaque in driver s window (TR 10.9). Unless closed for impound, official scales and measuring tools are available during posted times on schedule. All spills must be cleaned up or are subject to fines from PWC and/or CotA (SR1.8.13). TRACK WALK: WED. 3/21/18: 4:00PM 6:00PM WALKING ONLY- (NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES) OFFICIAL PIRELLI TIRE SETS (SR / TR 11.1): GT Teams: 4 new sets + 1 carry over set. GTS/TC Teams: 3 new sets + 1 carry over set. Tire sizes listed on website. ALL classes are now measured and scaled at 1.5 BAR (TR 3.2.3) OFFICIAL FUEL (TR 11.2): VP FUEL SCHEDULE: WED 4:00-6:00PM / FRIDAY-SUNDAY 7:00AM - 5:00PM VP WC-101 only. Fuel must be ordered by 3/9/18 using VP form on PWC website. Fueling in the Garages or under covered spaces is prohibited. No other work can be performed during fueling. Refer to pit lane Paddock regulations for more info. ANNUAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS AVI (TR3.1.4): Mandatory before vehicle competes in Covers Safety equipment, Driver Egress test, Seals, etc. Please provide your Fuel Cell Certificate & Safety Cage Certificate AVI s can be edited and resubmitted. Contact Todd to save time at tech. SAFETY CLOTHING INSPECTION (TR1.6): Required for all safety clothing to be worn whilst driving on track. Requires Driver Confirmation PWC MOTEC DATA MONITORING (TR 3.2.5, TR 11.3, TR) All cars must visit Parc Ferme post session with ONE team member for PWC to download data and camera cards.
