1 25 st March 2016 Issue AUSTRALIA F1 IS BACK WITH A BANG!!! literally, yes Fernando Alonso's spectacular crash kicks off the 2016 season and once again showing strength of the cars with Alonso just walking away, lucky boy... that was without the aid of a joker. Boring FF1 stat for you people, the highest place team not to have played their joker on last season's opener was Jamie Henshaw's It All About Being Special and they went on to win the championship.. Completing the top five is FF1 regular Hannah Carthew and her Team Poppet 2 on 322 points. So I bet you had questions for the first race - How would new boys Haas do? Pretty good really with Roman Grosjean finishing 6th. Not a dream start for Claire Ballard and her Dory's Dream Team who rolled in last with a dismal 43 points, don't worry Claire there's still another 20 races to go... How will the new qualifying rules go? Pretty bad really, most cars were eliminated while they were sitting in the pits. It was that good that they have reverted back to the old rules for the nice race. Surely McLaren can't be as bad as last year? Well yes they can and as I've invested a lot of my team's money in them it's going to be a long season. But after all this it was still a Mercedes 1-2 with Nico Rosberg taking the win but the Ferrari's seem a lot closer this season, it could be interesting.. In FF1 the first win and bottle of wine went to Richard Morton and his RDM 3 team who scored 568 points, Richard played his first joker on all three of his teams so he also finished second with RDM 1 on 510 points and RDM 2 way back in 15th on 294 points. In third it was another joker playing team Dye Owen and her Double D's 394 points followed by Jane Fairbanks' Jefny F1 in fourth on 348 points and WELCOME TO FF I d like to say welcome and a big hello to all our old, new and returning teams to this year s Fantasy Formula One. As with every other season we had a slow start but the teams flooded in with a day to go I know get on with it... I am happy to announce that in fact we have a total of 91 teams.
