Passing the Baton IFHTSE s Past President Reinhold Schneider will soon terminate his altogether six years of service in our presidency. During the last assembly of the Governing Council in this term, he passed the baton to his successor Patrick Jacquot. But to the surprise of those present, this was not only symbolic: To provide a visible and touchable baton to hand over to those to come, he had a decorative mine axe made by an artist with the IFHTSE and former IFHT logo on the blade. The President and Secretary General expressed their grtitude to Reinhold Schneider for his uncessant activity and strong leadership through a demanding transition period of the Federation, and expressed their expectation to have him still on the board as an active EC member. 2017/02 Page 4/5
