3 PART: A General 1: Range and governance: a. The Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club (CRPC) has made its facilities available for the 2013 Canadian National Pistol Championships at the club range at Ave. N.E., Calgary Alberta T2E 7Y9. b. Registration will take place at the Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club. The air-gun venue will be the: Calgary Curling Club rd Street N.W., Calgary c. The organizing committee comprises representatives from i. the Shooting Federation of Canada: High Performance Pistol Committee, ii. the Shooting Federation of Canada: Jim Sandall, Pistol Section Chair, iii. Alberta Handgun Association: 1. Match Director: Gail Garrett and Bernie Harrison 2. Registrars and Statistics: -- Karl Schulze and Bernie Harrison 3. Chief Range Officer: -- Harvey Lavigne?? 4. Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Coordinator: Bernie Harrison 5. Web-site Coordination: Keith Stieb 6. Range Equipment Transport Officer: Dave Garrett d. All shooting events in this competition are registered with the Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC) and will be conducted in accordance with ISSF and SFC rules. The match committee reserves the right to modify the rules, procedures and times dependent upon range conditions and local circumstances. e. All participants who reside in Canada must be members of the Shooting Federation of Canada. f. An Officials Training Clinic will commence Thursday August 16, prior to the commencement of the Championships. g. The facilities are wheelchair accessible. All firing line and access surfaces are either concrete or paved at both the Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Range and the air-gun venue. Movement from the parking lots to the venue ranges are all wheelchair accessible. h. The Statistics and Registration Office will be located in the CRPC club house. i. The Equipment Control Office and Equipment display areas will be located in the CRPC club house. j. The current ISSF Rule book will be used by all range staff. Protest fee will be $ : Shooting Federation of Canada Shooting Team The 2013 National Pistol Championships will serve as the selection competition for the Shooting Federation of Canada s National Pistol Team (see part G)
4 PART: B REGISTRATION AND APPLICATION 1: REGISTRATION a. Proof of SFC membership is required at the time of registration. WE REQUIRE THAT A COPY OF YOUR SFC MEMBERHSIP CARD BE ATTACHED TO YOUR REGISTRAITON FORM IF MAILED ORAT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION/CHECK IN PRESENTED WITH YOUR REGISTRAITON. IF you do not provide an SFC card, you will be charged an SFC membership fee and will be registered to compete in the MASTER class in all events. Nonresidents of Canada must be members of their National Shooting Association, and will be required to show a current classification document to be classified anything below Master for the purposes of this competition. b. Competitors will be required to complete a registration card during the registration process, and indicate their classification for each event in which they are competing. After fully registering and completing the signature cards, the classification level submitted by the competitor will stand unless the Match Jury deems a change is required. IF a competitor knowingly registers in a class that is below their actual class and does not take steps to rectify the issue, the competitor will be disqualified for falsification of documents. c. Post entries and registrations must be received no later than 2 hours prior to the start of the relay of a particular event in which the competitor wishes to participate. Post entries will only be accepted provided there is space on the existing relays. 6 3. MEALS Meals and beverage services will not be available at the Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Range. Within a two minute drive from the range can be found a wide variety of fast and leisure type food establishments. PART: C COMPETITION INFORMATION 1. COMPETITOR INFORMATION a. Participation in these Championships is open. However, only Canadian citizens are eligible to be named the Canadian Champion in any event. Proof of citizenship may be required for those registrants for the National Team. Non-Canadians will be eligible for High Visitor awards only. All competitors without an SFC verified classification, will shoot only for Match Winner or High Visitor, as the case may be. b. Only Canadian citizens are eligible to shoot finals in the appropriate events. c. Each competitor will be asked to sign a Freedom of Information release which will allow the competitor s name to be published with the results sheets. d. ALL competitors in the 50m (REDUCED TARGET), 25m Pistol, 25 m Rapid Fire Pistol and 10m pistol events will fire TWICE over the course, except for disabled competitors. 2. ENTRY a. An entry form and schedule are attached. PistolCanada.ca and b. Early entries are encouraged and necessary to facilitate squadding and planning in general. Early entries are those received, with payments postmarked before July 1st, We will attempt to assign shooting dates, times and relay number as requested to early entries. This will benefit those shooters who have to make airplane reservations, etc. from out-of-province. c. Telephone queries concerning entry to the Nationals can be made to Bernie Harrison at (403) d. Post entries MAY be accepted up to 2 hours prior to the start of the relay in each event: if there is space available. Where possible, extra relays MAY be added. After July 1, no additional relays will be scheduled without the agreement of the host committee and match director. e. Post-dated cheques are not acceptable. N.S.F. Cheques will be charged back at $50.00, and all scores, awards and services withheld until month end at which time, unless the account is settled, the individual will be disqualified from any scores and all awards will so adjusted.. f. Valid classes include: Master, Expert, Sharpshooter, Marksman, Veteran, International Junior, Junior, Sub-junior, and disabled classes as declared valid by the SFC. All classes male and female are considered as valid.
7 g. VETERANS class are those 55 years of age or older. Those competitors who have the age qualification may register in the Veterans class or in their regular class, but not both, and will shoot in all events either as a veteran or in their regular class. 2. AWARDS All awards, other than Canadian Championship awards, will be standard medals. Team medals will differ from individual medals. PART: D SQUADDING 1. PRACTICE: Practice times will be limited, given the maximum use we intend to make of the range. Therefore, check the attached schedule closely. We may allow additional practice times after the days events providing we have a Range Officer available. 2. SQUADDING a. Squadding will be set initially with each registration. b. Changes in squadding may only be approved by the Match Jury. During the Championships, the organizing committee may charge a competitor $25.00 for relay changes requested, unless an obvious conflict arises. Depending upon conditions, the request may or may not be granted. c. A squadding list will be posted on the web site shortly after the June 15 th, 2013 cutoff for early entries. This list may change before the match commences, and will be posted at the appropriate range. PLEASE NOTE: in compliance with FOIP regulations of the province of Alberta, we request that all competitors sign the attached information release form. We will only post COMPETITION ID NUMBERS of those competitors who have not signed the form but have given intention to register. The ID number will be forwarded to you upon payment of fees and registration.
8 PART: E EVENTS OF THE COMPETITION The competition will utilize the range at Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Indoor Range Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Range Ave. N.E., Calgary T2E 7Y9 Air-gun venue: Calgary Curling Club rd Street N.W., Calgary Section meeting and BBQ: Chapelhow Legion Ave NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 3P6
9 THE DISCIPLINES: ALL EVENTS ARE OPEN TO SFC MEMBERS AND VISITORS a. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORS WILL BE 10 PER RELAY WITH MAXIMUM NUMBER OF RELAYS SET AS 2. b. All competitions are registered with the SFC. Match ID number: c. ISSF regulation , , , and 2007 Section meeting determination, those competitions with team trials/finals are not open gender events. The following matches are restricted to males: 50m pistol, 25m Rapid Fire Pistol, 10m Pistol Men. The following matches are restricted to women: 25m Pistol and 10m Pistol Women. d. Match designation: and specifics of competition i. 50m Pistol Men: This competition will be shot under the following conditions at the Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Range: 1. Fired on the 25 m range. 2. Megalink 50m electronic targets will be used: The electronic scoring will scale all shots according to standardized reduction shots in 1.5 hour time limit. 4. Competitors will fire two complete matches over two days. Disabled competitors will fire once over the course. 5. sighting shots allowed in the time period assigned 6. no more than 60 record shots in the competition 7. no more than 1.5 hours of competition time unless unusual circumstances as determined by the CRO. 8. awards: only Canadian citizens will advance to the finals. 9. NOTE: THE NEW FINALS RULES WILL BE INVOKED. ii. 25 m Pistol Women: competition will take place at the Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Range. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORS: 10 PER RELAY AND 2 RELAYS competition shots per competition 2. Megalink electronic scoring will be used 3. Each competitor will fire two complete matches over two days. Disabled competitors will fire once over the course 4. In compliance with rule: sub 5 all competitors will complete the precision stage before the rapid fire stage commences. 5. awards: only Canadian citizens will advance to the finals. 6. NOTE: THE NEW FINALS RULES WILL BE INVOKED. iii. 25 m Rapid Fire Men: will be fired on the Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Range MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORS: 3 PER RELAY AND 5 RELAYS competition shots to be completed in two halves of 30 shots per half course 2. Megalink electronic scoring will be used. 3. Each competitor will fire two complete courses over two days. Disabled competitors will fire once over the course. 4. awards: only Canadian citizens will advance to the finals. 5. NOTE: THE NEW FINALS RULES WILL BE INVOKED.

Megalink Electronic scoring will be used 3. gender: open, SFC classes will be used 4. awards: only Canadian citizens are eligible for Canadian Champion vi. 25 m Centre Fire Pistol: this event will be fired at the Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club Range MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORS: 10 PER RELAY AND 2 RELAYS competition shots divided into 30 precision and 30 rapid fire 2. Megalink Electronic scoring will be used 3. 11 Special notice of withdrawal from match committee: In the event that a competitor s fired shots hit the electronic scoring target protection plate, the following penalty sequence shall be followed: : first occurrence: YELLOW card warning : second occurrence: GREEN card 2 point penalty : third occurrence: RED card disqualification due to unsafe shooting. The score that has been fired for record will be entered into the record sheets. No refund will be offered to the competitor.
12 PART: F FINALS FINALS FOR OLYMPIC EVENTS Final events will be conducted for all Olympic events for the 2013 Canadian National Pistol Championships. The Final Events will be fired according to the schedule attached. 13 International Shooting Sport Federation Internationaler Schiess-Sportverband e.v. Fédération Internationale de Tir Sportif Federación Internacional de Tiro Deportivo ISSF DRESS CODE ISSF Regulations Regarding the Clothing of Athletes, Coaches and Officials ISSF Rule General Technical Rule states: It is the responsibility of athletes, coaches and officials to appear on the range dressed in a manner appropriate for a public sports event. Clothing worn by athletes and officials must comply with the ISSF Dress Code. Copies are available from ISSF Headquarters. This ISSF Rule is the basis for the ISSF Dress Code that is provided in this document. 1 GENERAL All sports are concerned with the image they present to the public and media. Olympic sports, in particular, are judged by whether their athletes and officials present professional images and are a credit to their sports. Shooting s ability to grow as a sport and attract new participants and fans as well as Shooting s future status in the Olympic movement are affected by how its athletes and officials appear to the public and media. The ISSF established the ISSF Dress Code to provide specific regulations and guidelines for the implementation of Rule DRESS REGULATIONS FOR ATHLETES 2.1 All clothing worn by athletes in Training, Elimination, Qualification and Final round competitions must be clothing that is appropriate for wear by athletes in international-class sports competitions. This clothing must convey positive images of shooting athletes as Olympic sport athletes. 2.2 During award or other ceremonies, athletes are required to be dressed in their official national uniform or national training suits (tops and bottoms of training or warm-up uniforms including sport shoes). For teams, all members of the team must wear appropriate national uniforms (Rule ). 2.3 Rifle athletes must comply with Rifle Clothing Regulations described in Rule 7.5. If they do not wear special shooting trousers or shoes, the clothing worn during competitions must comply with this ISSF Dress Code. 2.4 Pistol athletes must comply with Pistol Clothing Regulations described in Rule
14 Shotgun athletes must comply with Shotgun Clothing Regulations described in Rule The intention of ISSF rifle, pistol and shotgun clothing rules is that athletes in competitions must wear sports-type clothing that incorporates or displays national, NOC or National Federations colors and emblems. Appropriate clothing for wear during competitions includes training suits, tracksuits or warm-up uniforms, etc. as issued by National Federations or NOCs. 2.7 Prohibited clothing items for competitions and award ceremonies include blue jeans, jeans or similar trousers in non-sporting colors, camouflage clothing, sleeveless T-shirts, shorts that are too short (see Rule , not more than 15 cm above the center of the knee), ragged cut-off shorts, all types of sandals, trousers with patches or holes as well as shirts or trousers with nonsporting or inappropriate messages (See Rule , no propaganda). Sporting colors should be national uniform colors. If national colors are not worn, non-sporting colors that should be avoided are camouflage, plaids, khaki, olive or brown. 2.8 Changing clothes must be done in designated areas and not on the field of play (no changing on the firing points or in the ranges). 2.9 All clothing must comply with ISSF Commercial Rights, Sponsorship and Advertising Rules regarding the display of manufacturer and sponsor marks. 3 DRESS REGULATIONS FOR OFFICIALS 3.1 The ISSF Dress Code also applies to ISSF Jury Members and National Technical Officials including Range Officers and Shotgun Referees. 3.2 Competition officials must wear clothing that reflects the professional nature of their responsibilities. While they are on duty, Jury Members must wear the red Jury vests that are available from ISSF Headquarters. While they are on duty, Shotgun Referees must wear the blue Referee vests that are available from ISSF Headquarters. 3.3 Competition officials may not wear any prohibited clothing items that are described in paragraph 2.7 above. 4 DRESS REGULATIONS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND TV CAMERAMEN 4.1 Accredited photographers and TV cameramen with access to the field of play must respect the ISSF Dress Code because they are working in the public view. 4.2 Photographers and TV cameramen should not wear sleeveless shirts, cut-offs, gym or running shorts. If they wear shorts, they must wear socks and shoes. 4.3 Photographers working on the field of play must wear the official bib vest for POOL or NON-POOL PHOTOGRAPHERS that are issued by the ISSF. Photographer vests will bear the ISSF logo and may bear one sponsor logo not bigger than the ISSF logo. Photographer vests are numbered so photo coordinators or the ISSF Technical Delegate may identify photographers. 4.4 TV cameramen working on the field of play must wear the official bib vest for TV CAMERAMAN. These vests must bear the ISSF logo and have easily distinguishable numbers on the front and back of the bib vest so that TV cameramen can be identified. 4.5 Photographers and TV cameramen are not allowed to wear any other vest or
15 jacket displaying advertising while working on the field of play. 5 ENFORCENT PROCEDURES 5.1 ISSF ORCEM Equipment Control, Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun Juries are responsible for enforcing ISSF Clothing Regulations and the ISSF Dress Code (Rule ) 5.2 During ISSF Championships, ISSF Juries will issue written warnings with requests to correct clothing violations for first violations. Athletes who receive written warnings and who do not correct clothing violations (change clothing) will be disqualified. Juries will normally give warnings during equipment inspection or training. Juries may allow an athlete to complete a pre-event training series or stage (Shotgun or 25m Pistol) before changing if sufficient time to change is not available. No athlete will be permitted to participate in a Qualification or Final round competition or in an awards ceremony while wearing inappropriate or prohibited clothing. 5.3 Before and during the competitions, Juries shall use the ISSF Dress/Advertising Code Violation Warning Form (copy the form on the next page) to inform Dress or Advertising Code violators and to request corrective action.
