Global Recognition and Participation Hong Kong staged the first International Dragon Boat Races (IDBR) in 1976 and is widely recognized as the birthplace of modern international dragon boat racing;

4 Global Recognition and Participation Hong Kong staged the first International Dragon Boat Races (IDBR) in 1976 and is widely recognized as the birthplace of modern international dragon boat racing; The sport of modern dragon boat racing originated in Hong Kong is elevated to a global sport and is now practiced in 75 countries/regions; Featuring exciting dragon boat races in Victoria Harbour and a BeerFest with live band music and fun games, Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival is an annual signature sport cum cultural event, attracting some 5,000 serious paddlers and 160,000 spectators from Hong Kong and overseas. 4

12 Proposed Sponsorship Package for Official Hotel Accommodation for approximately 35 international dragon boat teams of persons is required during official stay (9-13 June 2016, 5 days/4 nights). More than one Official Hotel will be solicited. The Official Hotel will offer: 50 complimentary twin rooms for four nights for international teams and Special rate of twin room for hotel accommodation for international teams and their extended stay before or after official stay. Approximately twin rooms required. Special rate of triple room for hotel accommodation for international teams and their extended stay before or after official stay.
