TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN ASTRO KEM BADMINTON 2018 ( AKB 2018 )

Registration and Release 1.1 The Registration Form and Release Form for AKB 2018 can be obtained from Participants are required to print out the Registration Form confirmation slip/ issued by the Organiser ( Registration Confirmation ) and submit this together with the Release Form to the Organiser during the Selection Camp session, it is presumed that the Participant and their Parents/Guardian: Agree to abide by all the conditions of participation as set out in these documents; and Guarantee that the Participant is physically fit and healthy to participate in AKB Eligibility Criteria 2.1 AKB 2018 is open to all Malaysians and Singaporeans (Singaporeans only for Selection Camp in Johor Bahru) who are between the ages of 10 to 12 years old (born between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2006, both dates inclusive) in Former participants who have participated in the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 or 2017 Astro Kem Badminton Overseas Intensive Training Programme in Japan are eligible to participate in AKB 2018 but only for the position of a Mentor under the Young Leadership Programme in conjunction with the AKB 2018 Intensive Training in Malaysia and AKB 2018 Overseas Intensive Training Programme in Japan. For the avoidance of doubt, there is no age limit for any former participants who wish to participate in the Young Leadership Programme. 3. Participation 3.1 All information provided by the Participant in the Registration Form and Release Form must be complete, correct, true and accurate. 3.2 The submission of the Registration Form and Release Form does not guarantee the Participant a place in AKB The Organiser shall be entitled to reject or refuse participation by any person for any reason, including (without limitation) an incomplete or illegible Registration Form, or if any provisions in the Terms and Conditions are not fulfilled or adhered to by the Participant, as deemed by the Organiser in its sole and exclusive discretion.

2 3.3 The Organiser shall not be responsible for any issues, problems, costs, losses or damages which may directly or indirectly affect the Participant arising from any delay and/or failure to submit the Registration Form and Release Form and/or register at the chosen Selection Camp Session venue on the date and time as stated in the Registration Confirmation. 4. Schedule 4.1 The dates and venues of the Selection Camp Sessions for AKB 2018 are as follows, subject to further change by the Organiser: No Selection Date Selection Venue 1 Saturday, 31 March 2018 Master Badminton Club (Klebang) Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia 2 Friday, 6 April 2018 Daiman Sports Complex Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia 3 Friday, 13 April 2018 Kota Bharu Badminton Centre Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia 4 Saturday, 21 April 2018 Arena Sukan Simpang Tiga Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia 5 Saturday, 28 April 2018 Kompleks Sukan Likas Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia 6 Saturday, 12 May 2018 Stadium Juara Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 7 Saturday, 14 July 2018 Indonesia 5. Attendance 5.1 Each Participant is required to: register on the date and within the registration time as indicated in the Registration Confirmation to avoid any cancellation of the Participant s Selection Camp session; and attend the Selection Camp session on the date and time stated in the Registration Confirmation. 5.2 The best Participants from the Selection Camp sessions (as determined by the Organiser and Coaches of AKB 2018 based on their evaluation) will be selected for the AKB 2018 Intensive Training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to be held in August 2018 ( Intensive Training ).

3 5.3 The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any Participant if the said Participant fails to attend any or all the training sessions without any reasonable cause during the Intensive Training. 5.4 The best Participants (as determined by the Organiser and Coaches of AKB 2018 based on their evaluation) during the Intensive Training will be selected for the AKB 2018 Overseas Intensive Training Programme in Japan in November December 2018 ( Overseas Intensive Training Programme )***. Note: ***Under the Youth Badminton Development Programme with Nippon Badminton Association of Japan, a number of the participants from the Malaysia Selection Camp sessions will be selected by the Organiser to participate in a joint training session with the Japan Junior Badminton Team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September 2018 ( Malaysia-Japan Youth Badminton Development Programme ). Selected registered participants, will be required to take part in the Japan Junior Badminton Joint Training. However, the participants selection and participation in the Malaysia-Japan Youth Badminton Development Programme shall in no way indicate that the said participant will be selected for the Overseas Intensive Training Programme in Coaches 6.1 All Selection Camp sessions, Intensive Training sessions and the precentralised training of the Overseas Intensive Training Programme in Malaysia will be headed by certified coaches from Badminton Association of Malaysia. 6.2 The Overseas Intensive Training Programme in Tokyo, Japan will be headed by certified coaches from the Nippon Badminton Association of Japan.

4 7. Participant s Apparel and Badminton Equipment 7.1 AKB 2018 t-shirt(s) will be provided by the Organiser to the Participant at the AKB The Participant is required to wear the T-shirt(s) provided by the Organiser during the AKB 2018 Selection Camp session /Intensive Training /Overseas Intensive Training Programme together with their own socks and sport shoes. The Participant is required to bring their own badminton racket(s) to the AKB 2018 Selection Camp session/intensive Training/ Overseas Intensive Training Programme. The Organiser shall not be responsible for supplying badminton racket(s) to any Participant. However, shuttle cocks will be provided by the Organiser. 7.3 The Participant is required to ensure that their attire is always neat and clean before and during the AKB 2018 Selection Camp session/ Intensive Training/ Overseas Intensive Advanced Training Programme. 8. Safety 8.1 The Organiser will take the necessary security measures and precautions throughout AKB However, the Participant must at all times be ultimately responsible for their own safety. 8.2 The Organiser shall not be held liable for any misconduct, injury, disability, death or accident(s) during AKB 2018 suffered by any Participant. However, the Organiser will provide necessary medical assistance if needed, where reasonable or practical in the event of any accidents that may occur during AKB Health 9.1 Participants of AKB 2018 who are selected for Intensive Training and Overseas Intensive Advanced Training Programme are required to provide a medical report dated no earlier than thirty (30) days prior to the commencement of the Intensive Training ( Medical Report ). 9.2 The Medical Report must be issued by a certified doctor from a registered government/private clinic/hospital. 9.3 The Medical Report must clearly stipulate that the Participant is fit and healthy without any internal or external injuries. 9.4 The Organiser reserves the right to prohibit or disqualify the entry of any Participant for AKB 2018 if the Participant is found to be in poor health condition in accordance with the Medical Report.

Discipline 10.1 Participants of AKB 2018 shall give due respect to the Organiser, the AKB 2018 Coaches, and the other Participants At all times, the Participant is prohibited from being involved in certain behavior that is deemed, in the sole opinion of the Organiser to be unacceptable, as follows: Fighting or deliberately starting a fight; with others, including any third parties; Insulting and offending others; Smoking, drug abuse or bringing any substances that are harmful to the health of the Participants to any and all venues involved in AKB 2018; Intentionally causing serious injury to others; Intentionally causing damage to any equipment and/or facilities available at any and all AKB 2018 venues; and Stealing or taking home any apparel or sports equipment belonging to other Participants or any apparel or sports equipment provided by the Organiser for use during AKB 2018 without consent The Participant must comply with the attendance requirements as set by the Organiser or/and the Coaches The Organiser reserves the right to prohibit or disqualify the entry of any Participant for AKB 2018 if the Participant is found to be in poor physical condition or if the Participant has not adhered to the discipline rules set by the Organiser. 11. Other Terms 11.1 The Organiser shall not be responsible for any loss of money or property belonging to the Participant during AKB Therefore, the Participant is advised not to bring any valuable items with them during the training sessions for AKB The cleanliness of the badminton courts and the training venues are the responsibility of all Participants and must be maintained throughout the duration of AKB The Organiser s decision is final, including any decision on the selection of Participants for any AKB 2018 training sessions both within or outside the country.

6 11.4 The Organiser reserves the right at any time to change, modify, delete, amend or add to any of these Terms and Conditions and any ancillary documents as set out in this document at its absolute discretion without prior notice The Organiser may terminate or suspend AKB 2018 at any time at their absolute discretion in which case, the Organiser may elect not to select any Participants. Such termination or suspension shall not give rise to any claim by the Participants. If AKB 2018 is resumed by the Organiser, the Participants shall abide by the Organiser's decision regarding the resumption of AKB The Participant shall not be entitled to assign any of the rights or subcontract any of the obligations herein to any third party. The Organiser shall be entitled to assign or sub-license the whole or any part of its rights hereunder to any third party as may be determined by the Organiser These Terms and Conditions, Privacy Notice and Conditions of AKB 2018 shall be construed, governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Malaysia The Participant and their parents/guardian shall treat all Terms and Conditions and rules and regulations of AKB 2018 and all information and knowledge obtained by the Participant in relation to and/or in connection with AKB 2018 and/or derived as a result of his/her participation in the same, including without limitation the Organiser s business and operational details, and details about the mechanics of AKB 2018 (hereafter collectively known as "Confidential Information"), as confidential and the Participant shall, during and after AKB 2018, take all reasonable precautions to prevent disclosures of the Confidential Information to unauthorized persons or entities for any reason whatsoever and undertakes to deliver to the Organiser all tangible materials embodying the Confidential Information including any documentation, records, listings, notes, sketches, drawings, memoranda, models, accounts, reference materials, samples and machine readable media and equipment that is in any way related to the Confidential Information including all duplicates and copies thereof.

7 11.9 Unless otherwise notified by the Organiser, all costs incurred by the Participant in relation to and/or with respect to AKB 2018 including without limitation postal charges or Internet Service Provider (ISP) charges (if applicable), all transport costs, communication charges, accommodation costs, meal costs, passport/visa costs (where applicable) and other related costs incurred by the participant as a result of and/or pursuant to his/her participation in AKB 2018 shall be solely borne by the Participant. The Organiser shall not be under any obligation to reimburse the Participant for any of such costs and expenses incurred thereof The invalidity, illegality or unenforceability of any terms hereunder shall not affect or impair the continuation in force of the remainder of the Terms and Conditions of AKB All rights and privileges herein granted to the Organiser are irrevocable and not subjected to rescission, restraint or injunction under any and all circumstances Under no circumstances shall the Participant have the right to injunctive relief or to restrain or otherwise interfere with the organisation of AKB 2018, the production, distribution, exhibition and/or exploitation of any recording of AKB 2018 and/or any product based on and/or derived from AKB These Terms and Conditions are available in English language and Bahasa Malaysia language versions. In the event of any inconsistency or different interpretation between the English language version and the Bahasa Malaysia language version of these Terms and Conditions, the Bahasa Malaysia language version is deemed to be automatically amended to make the relevant part of the Bahasa Malaysia language version consistent with the relevant part of the English language version.
