Rifles and equipment, and most importantly, coaching will be available for anyone interested in or curious about the High Power Rifle discipline. The course of fire for matches and firing positions used will be fully explained and we will offer range firing at 200-yards in a no-pressure non-match environment. Junior shooters (age 18 and under) are encouraged to participate as long as a parent or legal guardian are present. New shooters are encouraged to come out and participate at all other high power rifle matches at Central Kansas Gun Club regardless of prior experience. Rudimentary coaching and equipment will be provided and ammunition made available at nominal cost; observation of matches to see how things work is free. You must notify the match director in advance so that equipment will be on hand. XTC Across-the-Course Matches at Central Kansas Gun Club Rules: Current NRA High Power rules will govern. Open bolt indicators will be required, available at $2.00 each. Eligibility: Open to all competitors. Entry Fee: $20.00 Includes NRA Registration Fee of $4.50. Exceptions are benefit matches consisting of the M1 for Vets and Toys For Tots matches are $25. Entry fee for M16A4 Freedom Trophy match is $25. Entry fee for the 2016 Cromwell Cup has been set by OKCGC at $20. Also, the Practice Leg and the reduced range 100-yard matches in August are $15. Please pay by check for the M1 for Vets & Toys for Tots benefit events so you can enjoy the tax write-off. Entries: For the months of March, April and October, registrations start at 8:30 and are accepted until 9:15 on match day, and firing starts at 9:30 SHARP. For May thru September, registration starts at 7:30 and are accepted until 8:15 on match day, and firing starts at 8:30 SHARP. Preregistration is available for KSRA matches only. Classification: NRA classification will be used throughout (except Practice Leg and Rattle Battle matches). Those not having current classification will fire as Master Unclassified. 3 has less than three shooters, those individuals will fire in the next higher class, excluding the High Master class. Service rifle and Match rifle will compete together in one classification. Any Sight Match/Tactical Rifle (ASMT) will only compete within their class. CKGC Classification: MSR/OSR (Modern Service Rifle/Optical-sighted Service Rifle) governed by the M16A4 rules and will fall within the Any Sight Match/Tactical (ASMT) category and will compete with them for awards. Squadding and Scoring: All matches will be squadded and competitors will score and pull targets for each other by relays when firing the 200/300/600-yd. course. Course of Fire: 80 Shot Regional Match course. (88 shots, 800 points). Match #1: 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record, standing slow fire (single round loading) in 22 minutes. Distance is 200-yds using the SR target. Match #2: 2 sighting shots and two 10 shot strings for record, sitting or kneeling, rapid fire with 1 reload in 60 seconds. Distance is 200-yds using the SR target. Match #3: 2 sighting shots and two 10 shot strings for record, prone rapid fire with 1 reload in 70 seconds. Distance is 300-yds using the SR-3 target. Match #4: 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record, prone slow fire (single round loading) in 22 minutes. Distance is 600-yds using the MR-1 target. Match #5: Aggregate of matches of 1 thru 4. Match #6: Mid Range Any Rifle / Any Sight. 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record, prone slow fire (single round loading) in 22 minutes. Fired at 600-yds using the MR-1 target. Awards: Classes will be combined upwards if less than (3) entries per class. Awards will consist of recognition only in match results for Match Winner and 1 st Place for each classification. No award for benefit matches. Plaque only for M1 and Bolt Action SR matches (100-yards). See KSRA match bulletin for award schedule for KSRA matches. Any Rifle / Any Sight Match: 600-yard open match for center fire rifles.35 caliber or less. Telescopic sight allowed. Classification will not be used. Entry fee is $3.00 with 100% payback to the match winner. 2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record, prone slow fire in 22 minutes. May also be offered after the 100-yard reduced matches if temperature and shooter participation levels allow, either centerfire at 600 or rimfire at 100-yards. The Dean Nelson Traveling Trophy will be awarded to the shooter who has accumulated the most total points of all the CKGC XTC and practice leg matches thru the Annual Picnic. Additionally, only scores fired using the appropriate rifle during the M1 Garand and Bolt Action Service Rifle matches in August will count toward the trophy. The any-rifle, any sight matches and KSRA matches will not count toward the trophy. Food and running water are not available at the range. Outhouse facilities are provided. Page 3 of 6

4 Ammunition: Effective May 1, 2004: Shooters firing at 600-yd. targets with.223 / 5.56 mm ammunition must use bullet weights of 68 grains or heavier. Shooters who are unable to hit their target by the 3rd shot will be removed from the firing line. Shooters may only use ammunition that will maintain bullets at supersonic speeds. Shooters will be removed from the firing line for bullets that key hole at the target because of minimum velocity. Normal NRA rules for 100-yard reduced match will apply. Pits will not be used. These are non-approved matches. Special plaque awarded to Match Winner. Followed by 22-cal any-rifle, any-sight, any-position match at 100- yards, 2-sighting shots and 20 shots for record in time limit of 22-minutes. PRACTICE LEG MATCHES Held as incentive for those shooters still in the hunt for leg points toward the Distinguished Rifleman Badge, these will be 50-round CMP-style (but non-approved) practice matches following Excellence In Competition rules and format. Shooters will start from standing for rapid-fire portions. Two sighting shots per position are allowed but discouraged to avoid reliance upon them. Entry fee $15. Course of fire will consist of: 10-shots Standing slow-fire in ten minutes at 200- yards; 10-shots rapid fire Sitting in sixty-seconds with magazine change at 200-yards; ten-shot rapid-fire Prone in 70-seconds with magazine change at 300-yards; and 20-shots slow-fire Prone in 20-minutes at 600-yards PRACTICE NIGHT SCHEDULE Practice nights for High Power will be the 3 rd Wednesday each month running from March through October, and will run from 5 PM until sundown. You must call Richard Reed ahead of time to verify the practice will be held, and to tell him you will attend. The practice will not be held if people are not known to be coming, and Richard s work schedule may cause cancellation if a substitute is not found. Call Richard to verify at or to peelsrick@hotmail.com. The entire south half of the range will generally be closed during these practice sessions, but occasionally the South Plinking Range may be open. Non-participants in the high power practice nights may be moved to the north side or required to vacate the range during practice nights, especially if firing from 300 or 600-yards is conducted. The 200-yard bench rest facility will not be Page 4 of 6

5 open during any practice night. October 2nd Rattle Battle Individual Match Shooters will have 50-seconds to fire as many rounds as possible at the distances of 600-yards from the prone position only. The match will generally follow the CMP National Infantry Team Trophy Match format using silhouette targets. A prep period and five slow-fire sighting shots will be given before record firing at 600-yards. No alibis will be allowed. The match may be run twice if time permits, subject to start of Shotgun Program activities at 1:00 PM. CROMWELL CUP MEMORIAL MATCHES Guy Cromwell was well known to Oklahoma and Kansas high power rifle shooters and passed away in Beginning in 2009 with the first match in Hutchinson, this memorial match and the Cromwell Cup Trophy alternates between Hutchinson and Guy s home range at the Oklahoma City Gun Club at Arcadia, OK north of Oklahoma City. Proceeds are donated to youth marksmanship programs, with which Guy was heavily involved. It is not a bad way to be remembered, when you think about it. For 2016, the Cromwell Cup Match will be held at Oklahoma City Gun Club at Arcadia, OK on Sunday October 30, with proceeds going to CKGC Youth Program. Freedom Trophy M16A4 Service Rifle Championship October 1, 2016 Rules: Current NRA High Power rules will govern. This Match will be governed by Rule NRA Any Sight Match Rifle/Tactical Rifle. Open bolt indicators will be required, available at $2.00 each. Contact John Heger, , Lheger13@sbcglobal.net Special Rules for the KSRA M16A4 Championship: Same as NRA SERVICE RIFLE rule #3.1.C except up to a 4x scope and use the std issue M16A4 Knight Armament M5 rail system are allowed. Variable scopes that go above 4x must be left at 4x and it is the scorer s responsibility to police this. Eligibility: Open to all competitors. Entry Fee: $25.00 Includes NRA Registration Fee. Entries: Registration starts at 8:30 and are accepted until 9:15 on match day. Firing starts at 9:30 SHARP. Pre-registration is available for KSRA matches only.
