3 Step 1 2: How to Fill Veloci-T Cartridges Here's how to fill the cartridges for the Veloci-T Direct-to-Garment Printer. Here's what you'll need: Ink bottles. (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and the bottle of Cleaning Solution.) Syringes. We give you five, one for each color plus one for the cleaning solution. Cartridges. The Veloci-T has five in total. A plastic cup, or a similar container. To be used to fill up the syringe more easily guides.equipmentzone.com Page 3 of 11

4 Step 2 There are five cartridges. One cyan, one magenta, one yellow, and two black cartridges. On the Veloci-T, one of the black cartridges should be filled with cleaning solution. Make sure to put this cartridge in the CL slot when we put the cartridges into the printer later. The two black cartridges are identical other than the fact that one will be filled with black ink and one will be filled with cleaning solution. NOTE: Your cartridges may appear slightly different from the type in the photo guides.equipmentzone.com Page 4 of 11

5 Step 3 One of the black ink cartridges should have a CL label on it. This is the cartridge that should be filled with cleaning solution. If your cartridge is missing that label, stick an extra CL sticker onto it. Step 4 Remove both the clear plug and the colored plug from the top of the cartridge. These pull straight out from the top. Use your hands, not any tools, to remove them. If your cartridge has two colored plugs and no clear plugs, remove both colored plugs instead guides.equipmentzone.com Page 5 of 11

6 Step 5 Once the plugs are removed, it's time to fill your syringe. Pour just a little ink into the cup. You'll need less than an ounce. It's often easier to fill the syringe from a plastic cup than straight from the bottle. Plus, this method helps avoid sucking air into the syringe. Step 6 Remove the syringe from its packaging. Don't worry - the syringe isn't sharp. It's also entirely made of plastic guides.equipmentzone.com Page 6 of 11

7 Step 7 Screw the beige plastic tip onto the syringe. It takes about two turns until it screws on all the way. Step 8 Stick the tip of the syringe into the cup of ink. Pull back on the plunger until you've filled the syringe up to about the 12 cc mark. Keeping the tip of the syringe submerged in the ink as you pull will limit the amount of air which gets into your syringe. That's a good thing guides.equipmentzone.com Page 7 of 11

8 Step 9 Here's what the syringe should look like when it is filled with ink. Again, fill to the 12 cc line. You don't have to be exact. cc is the exact same measurement as ml. So you're filling your syringe with 12 ml of ink. Step 10 Locate the filler hole. This will be towards the back side of the cartridge, the side that has the ink chips. The filler hole will also have a recessed area around it. This area will help to catch excess ink if you accidentally fill your cartridge too much guides.equipmentzone.com Page 8 of 11

9 Step 11 Put the syringe into the filler hole all the way. You'll be creating a seal with the top of the cartridge. It doesn't have to be a tight seal. Push down on the plunger and fill the cartridge with ink. You don't need to fill the cartridge up 100% of the way. 95% full is fine. You will rarely use all the ink in the syringe to fill up the cartridge. That's ok. Just squirt it back into the bottle guides.equipmentzone.com Page 9 of 11

10 Step 12 Put the colored plug back in the filler hole. Leave the clear plastic cap out of the other hole. That hole is the air hole. The air hole should only be covered when you are transporting the printer or leaving the printer unused for a length of time. Step 13 Over a sink, separate the plunger of the syringe from the body.
