The Failure to follow these firearm safety guidelines may result in an unintended discharge or damage to the weapon which could cause serious injury or death. Always consider every firearm to be loaded and treat it as being loaded. Any dropped firearm may discharge and cause injury or death. Never drop any firearm. Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction away from people. Never point a firearm in the direction of anyone, whether the firearm is loaded or not. Be careful when you're loading or unloading your firearm. Firearms must be unloaded when in storage or not in use. Load your firearm only when you are ready to use it and only in the field ( at a safe area with no one down range) or target range (Pointing down range) and ready to fire. Never let a loaded firearm or any firearm out of your sight. Always completely unload your firearm as soon as you are done shooting, always before storing, traveling, standing it against anything, laying it down, entering a vehicle, entering a building or bringing it into your home. Never take anyone's word that a firearm is unloaded, always check it yourself. Never pass your firearm to anyone until you fully check that it is unloaded. Always store any firearm unloaded when not in use. Page 2

3 Never rely solely on your firearms mechanical safety features. Your personal safe handling of your firearm will only ensure the safe use of your firearm. The firearms mechanical safeties are not a substitute for good common sense. These mechanical safeties are merely a supplement to your personal safe handling of a firearm. Keep your finger off the trigger guard and trigger and do not touch the trigger or trigger guard until you are ready to fire. Make sure that no other objects can touch the trigger. The gun should be unloaded when climbing a tree or crossing obstacles such as rough terrain, streams, creeks, or fences with a loaded firearm. The barrel must be clear of all obstructions before loading and firing. Before using the firearm completely unload the firearm and check the barrel for any obstructions or debris. Never let sand, dirt, water, snow, mud or other materials enter the barrel. Warning, excess lubricants or grease can dangerously increase pressure from firing and may cause barrel to burst when firing. If barrel is obstructed, remove ammunition and clean barrel immediately. Every firearm is designed to use specific ammunition of a certain gauge or caliber. Never use the wrong gauge, caliber, wrong ammunition, or non-standard, or "hand loaded" ammunition which has not been subjected to internal ballistic pressure testing. Always read and follow the manufactures instructions on the ammunition box. 556 and 223 while being the same basic size have different charges and the firearm must be rated for 556 in order to fire 556. Never fire 556 from a 223 rated firearm. Be careful as ammo may fit in firearms that are not rated for that ammunition. Make sure ammunition is correct for the firearm and do not guess or assume it is OK. If you are uncertain contact the manufacturer, a gunsmith or a knowledgeable dealer. Be sure of your target and the surrounding area and make sure there is no way to hit unseen people, property or animals. DO NOT fire unless you know exactly where your shot is going, and what it will strike and could strike if you miss. Make sure the shot has a safe back stop, such as a hillside or sand. WARNING Bullets can ricochet on surfaces such as rock and water. Do not fire into the sky as a falling bullet can still be deadly. When storing always store and secure your firearm and ammunition separately. Make sure you store your firearm and ammunition so they are not accessible to children or unauthorized persons. Think about visitors, family, guests and evaluate your personal situation to make sure children and unauthorized persons cannot access your ammunition or firearms. You are responsible for your firearm at all times. Protect yourself and others against injury or death from misuse of ammunition or firearms. You can be held legally responsible for the improper use by others of your improperly stored firearms or ammunition. Rule 1 never lock a loaded firearm and rule 2 is never load a locked firearm. Page 3

4 You can permanently damage your eyes or ears including the loss of hearing or sight so always wear appropriate eye and ear protection while shooting and cleaning a firearm. You should be sure others in the vicinity have protection as well. Drugs and alcohol impair you judgment so never use drugs or alcohol before or during the use of any firearm. Medications may impair your senses so never use your firearm if you are taking any medication which even slightly impairs your mental or physical ability. Make Sure to obey all laws Federal, State, County and Local regarding the storage, security, transportation and carrying of firearms. Be familiar with all local, state, and federal laws regarding the safe use, storage and/or transportation of your firearm as you may be arrested and face heavy fines and imprisonment if in violation. Local police departments can usually answer any questions you may have regarding the legal use, storing and/or transporting of your firearm. Lead is hazardous to your health so make sure not to discharge your firearm in poorly ventilated areas. Handling a firearm and the handling of ammunition may result in exposure to lead and other substances known to cause birth defects, reproductive harm, cancer, and other physical injury. Always wash hands and face thoroughly after exposure. Never smoke, eat or drink while handling, firing a firearm or handling ammunition. Always wash your hands and face after. Ammunition, cleaning products and oils can be hazardous to your health so always read the warnings labels on all ammunition and cleaning products carefully and thoroughly wash all exposed skin and face. Clothing exposed to any of these products should be washed separately.. Understand all operational aspects of the firearm before handling. Every firearm is different. Familiarize yourself with safety and every mechanical features of your firearm. If your firearm fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, handle with care and never look down the barrel and keep it pointed away from anyone. Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction and away from your face. Always keep your face away from the breach, put the safety on. Unload your firearm and dispose of the ammunition carefully and safely. Never alter or modify your firearm as this should only be done by a professional. Disassembly of your firearm beyond what is outlined in your manual can be dangerous so only have a gunsmith, armorer or other qualified person do so. Improper manipulation of any internal parts, components and/or improper disassembly or reassembly may be very dangerous, and may lead to malfunction or explosion and serious injury or death. Do not even attempt to try to change your firearm's trigger pull, alterations in trigger pull might cause accidental firing resulting in death or injury. Only a qualified gunsmith or armorer should service, repair, or modify your firearm in any way. What sometimes seems to be a minor modification may result Page 4

5 in an unforeseen action in the way the firearm works so always refer to an expert when adding accessories or changing anything on your firearm. Be sure all accessories and parts are compatible with your specific firearm. Accessories must not be added that interfere with the safe operation of your firearm. Make sure anyone who uses your firearm has a full understanding of the firearm and safety rules. Never allow your firearm to be used anyone that does not understand its safe operation or has not read these firearm safety guidelines. Your firearm is your personal responsibility and you are solely responsible for it use. Failure to follow all of these basic safety guidelines and use safe practices may result in severe injury or death to you or others. You are the most important safety device and the bottom line when it comes to the use of your NATIONAL ARMORY LLC Firearm. Under no circumstances will National Armory LLC be or assume any responsibility for any injury, death or property damage that results from: Improper or careless handling of the firearm; A disregard of the safety guidelines and warnings; The criminal or negligent use of the firearm; Improper or negligent modifications or repairs to the firearm; The use of non-standard, defective, improper or reloaded ammunition. 8 WARNING Failure to use the proper gauge or caliber of ammunition can cause explosion and will cause your firearm to fail when firing. Always verify and use ammunition specifically designed for use in your firearm. You are responsible for using ammunition specifically designed for and that meets industry standards for use in your specific firearm. Using ammunition not specifically designed for your firearm can result in explosion caused the pressure to exceed the capability of your firearm, and could damage and/or rupture your firearm resulting in injury or death. Never mix ammunition for use in your firearm. Always inspect your ammunition before using it for proper caliber or gauge, rust or corrosion and defects. Use of damaged or corroded ammunition could lead to a burst cartridge causing damage to the firearm and injury or death. 6. Locate the caliber mark on the firearm which should be located on the lower and upper of the firearm. Make sure the barrel and upper are compatible with the same ammunition as the lower. This designates the ammunition caliber that must be used in your firearm. For example the barrel and upper must all be compatible with 556 in order to use 556. A 223 rated upper and barrel cannot safely fire 556 even if the lower may be rated 556. If you are unsure of the specific ammunition designed for your firearm contact National Armory LLC at and talk to one of our professionals or a gunsmith or armorer. Always use ammunition that is commercially manufactured with internal ballistic pressures which are in strict accordance with the specifications for your firearm. Institute (SAAMI). For verification of ammunition pressure, contact your ammunition supplier. Your firearm has been designed for ammunition of a specific caliber and type so make sure you understand and use the correct ammunition. The firearm and ammunition work together as a system and must be as specified. You must use the correct ammunition for your firearm to ensure your safety. WARNING Any loaded firearm may discharge unintentionally if dropped. Handle every loaded firearm with care and respect. Clean your firearm before the first use and after every use. Firearms are treated at the factory to prevent corrosion. Always clean the chamber bore, and exterior surfaces to remove excess oil before using. Make sure you read and understand this manual before loading as your safety and the safety of others depends on it. Load your firearm only when you are in the field or target range, when the firearm can be pointed at a safe area and when you are sure of the target and ready to fire. 1. Failure to follow these basic steps of firearm safety guidelines may result in an accidental discharge which could cause serious injury or death. Always point the barrel in a safe direction even if you believe the firearm is not loaded. Be alert to your firearm and surroundings and follow safety instructions. Be aware of other people around you. People in the vicinity may unintentionally walk into your line of fire so be alert and aware of their movements. Proper eye and ear protection must be worn at all times when shooting. This is important for the shooter as well as all bystanders in the area. Consider your clothing for shooting. Ammunition cases that are discharged from your firearm are hot and can cause burns. Burns can cause you to react and move in an unsafe manner endangering other people around you as well as yourself. Long sleeve shirts with closed neck lines are recommended to avoid burns to the arms and chest from stray ammunition casings. 1.
