JURISDICTION Held under the General Competition Rules (GCR s) and Standing Supplementary Regulations (SSR s) of Motorsport South Africa (MSA), these Supplementary Regulations (SR s) and final instructions which may be issued to competitors and any relevant MSA Circulars of 2019, which will take precedence to these SR s. These regulations must be read and understood by all competitors. Please note that the MSA Flag will be prominently displayed at documentation. 2. A drawing of the circuit will be published on the notice board.

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS Times are subject to change as per the Clerk of the Course (COC). Friday, 29 March Documentation : 14h00 to 18h00pm in the clubhouse at the track. Riders Briefing : 18h00 to 18h30pm in the clubhouse at the track Saturday, 30 March 7.1. Documentation : 06h00 to 06h20am in the clubhouse at the track (by arrangement only) All competitors and designated mechanics must attend documentation at the stipulated time and

3 venue. Even when a parent or guardian is present, a competitor must still attend st Officials Meeting : 06h30am 7.3. Riders Briefing Location : In the clubhouse at the track Time : Friday night 18h00 to 18h30 All competitors must be present at the briefing at the stipulated time and venue. Representatives may accompany the competitor to the briefing, but may not represent the rider. Failure to attend the riders briefing may result in a fine of R500. COMPETITOR REQUIREMENTS, REGULATIONS & PROCEDURES For full details regarding any SSR s please refer to the 2019 MSA SA National Motocross Standing Supplementary Regulations. For full details regarding any GCR s please obtain a copy of the 2019 General Competition Rules from MSA Classes & Eligibility of Riders National Classes: MX 50cc, MX 65cc, MX 85cc Juniors, MX Pro Mini, MX High School, MX1, MX2, MX3, MX Ladies SSR 242 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY OF RIDERS SSR 243 CLASSES AND ELIGIBILITY OF MOTORCYCLES AND RIDERS ART 1 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES ART 2 ELIGIBILITY OF RIDERS 8.2. Riding Conduct SSR 257 RESPONSIBILITY 8.3. Licences a) The National Championship classes are open to all riders who hold current, valid National Motocross competition licences, and whose motorcycles comply with the specifications and regulations.

4 b) WP based holders of MSA Regional Motocross competition licenses will be able to upgrade to a National licence however will have to contact MSA for the confirmation of the upgrade amount before the event. On receipt of the upgraded licences, competitors will therefore be able to score in the National Championship results. c) No licences will be available at the event so please obtain your licence with MSA before the event. d) One event licences can be obtained beforehand with MSA. e) Contact Carmen Hill at MSA on carmen@motorsport.co.za or Entrants Licence s Where the entrant is NOT the rider, an entrant s licence must be obtained from MSA and submitted together with the entry form, failing which the Entrant s name will not be published in the programme Refer to NOTE Medical Please note that it is the competitor s responsibility to ensure any type of injury is recorded on the accident register with the medics on the day. No claims for injuries will be entertained if the injury was not recorded on the accident register on race day Minimum number of starters For a class to qualify towards the National Championship, a minimum of 10 competitors must take part in the practice, 1st heat and/or 2nd heat. This is applicable to the following classes: MX 50cc, MX 65cc, MX 85cc Juniors, MX Pro Mini, MX High School, MX1, MX2, MX3 and MX Ladies. ART 8 NUMBER OF STARTERS 8.7. Championship events & Heats to count ART 3 HEATS TO COUNT 8.8. Competition Numbers Competition numbers for all classes will be those as issued by Motorsport S.A (Head Office) only. Contact Carmen Hill on or carmen@motorsport.co.za to reserve and confirm your bike number. SSR 221 NUMBERS SSR 222 COLOUR OF NUMBERS Red backing for number boards are strictly reserved for point s leaders in each respective class going into each round. White numbers on a black backing for the MX1 class White numbers on a blue backing for the MX Ladies class Black numbers on a white backing for all other classes. SSR 223 OTHER NUMBERS TO BE DISPLAYED BY RIDERS SSR 224 ALLOCATION OF NUMBERS 8.9. Riding Gear Protective clothing must be worn by all competitors as set out in the SSR s. SSR 225 PROTECTIVE CLOTHING On board Cameras Selected competitors may be asked by SA MX Nationals to wear a camera for filming for television / broadcast purposes. SSR 226 (v) SCRUTINEERING GCR 124 CAMERAS AND RECORDING DEVICES Timing The Timing service is included in the entry fee. A Timing Tag will need to be purchased in cash (R50 per tag) at documentation; the timing tag will remain the property of the competitor and can be used at subsequent National races. Should the tag be damaged or lost the competitor will need to purchase a new tag for R Scrutineering Self Scrutineering will apply. Scrutineering forms can be for download on the Zone 7 and samxnationals websites and needs to be completed, signed and handed in at documentation. A Scrutineering sticker will be issued at documentation and must be displayed on the motorcycle.

5 Competitors are warned that should the motorcycle fail a sample spot check by any official during any time of the day, action will be taken against that competitor. SSR 226 SCRUTINEERING SSR 227 MODIFICATIONS TO MACHINES SSR 228 EQUIPMENT TO BE REMOVED BEFORE SCRUTINEERING GCR 93 DECLARATION/UNDERTAKING TO BE SIGNED BY EVERY COMPETITOR Fuel, Fire Extinguisher, Environmental Mats and Sound Levels Fuel: Refer to SSR 256 FUEL Fire Extinguisher: Refer to SSR 226 (iv) SCRUTINEERING Environmental Mats: Refer to SSR NOTE 11 - CLASSES AND ELIGIBILITY OF MOTORCYCLES AND RIDERS Sound Levels: Refer to SSR 235C (xi) - GENERAL Silencing of Motorcycles SSR 235C (xi) GENERAL Pre-Race Paddock & Waiting Zone The Pre-race paddock / Waiting Zone is situated behind the start gates 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the first heat, competitors competing in the race concerned should move to the pre-race paddock / Waiting Zone Track Access & Signalling All riders and mechanics will have full track access before practise and during the lunch break. 50cc, 65cc and 85cc junior will have track access at any time providing they are with a parent or official guardian and has signed for a bib from race control All other classes will have a sighting lap and no access to the track other than before practise and during lunch. All mechanics will be issued an armband, no access by the designated mechanic into the pre-race paddock, start line, signalling area without this armband. SSR 249 TRACK ACCESS Starts The Start of the race will be in accordance with the SSR s. SSR 230 STARTING POSITIONS SSR 231 TYPES OF STARTS SSR 232 STARTING GRID SSR 233 THE START SSR 234 FALSE/JUMP STARTS Competitors who do not take part in official practice must confirm their intention to start to the COC, no less than one hour before the start of the first heat. If a rider is not present in the pre-race paddock when he/she is called to the start line, he/she will forfeit his/her starting position. A change of vehicle will be permitted subject to valid reasons for the change being given and the Stewards of the meeting agreeing to the change. GCR 259 CHANGE OF VEHICLE The Race SSR 235 SSR 235A SSR 235B Flags SSR 237 THE RACE WITHDRAWAL FROM RACE INCIDENTS, ACCIDENTS AND RETIREMENTS FLAGS / LAST LAP SIGNAL End of Race The waving of the chequered flag will signify the end of each race. All bikes to proceed to Parc Ferme immediately after each race and remain there until released by the TC. The Stewards/COC reserves the right to impound and examine any motorcycle at their discretion. SSR 237 FLAGS / LAST LAP SIGNAL

6 SSR 238 SSR 239 SSR 240 THE FINISH DEAD HEAT RACE STOPPED PREMATURELY Points Points will be scored as per the SSR s. SSR 244 POINTS SCORING ART 7 SEPARATION OF TIES Results & Protests The protest period will be 30 minutes from actual posting of the FINAL results on the notice board. These results are not to be removed and disciplinary action will be taken against any person removing these results without authority. Additional copies may be obtained from the Secretary of the meeting if needed. All protests and appeals will be dealt with as set out in GCR s Parts IX and X, and Appendix R. SSR 255 PROTEST PERIOD GCR PART IX PROTESTS GCR 274 CLASSIFICATION GCR 275 DEAD HEATS SSR 239 DEAD HEAT Prize Giving A podium ceremony will take place after the each heat for the top 3 in each class. The main prize giving will take place after the last heat of the day for the top 3 overall positions achieved in the day. Any rider not attending prize giving will forfeit his/her prize unless suitable arrangements are made with the Race Secretary prior to prize giving Trophies / Prize Money Refer Circular 1 of 2019 GCR 280 PAYMENT OF STARTING AND PRIZE MONEY AND PRESENTATION OF AWARDS GCR 281 AWARDS Motorcycles in the pits SSR 247 GCR 172 (vii) MOTORCYCLES IN THE PITS BREACH OF RULES Postponement, Abandonment or Cancellation The Organisers reserve the right to postpone, abandon or cancel the meeting or any part thereof. In the event of any of the above, the Competitor/Entrant has no right to claim against the Promoter/Organiser in respect of any loss or damage he/she may incur, other than that specified in the GCR s. The meeting will not be postponed, abandoned or cancelled without the consent of the Stewards in accordance with the GCR s GCR 244 POSTPONEMENT, ABANDONMENT OR CANCELLATION OF COMPETITION GCR 152 RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY OF THE STEWARDS OF THE MEETING Advertising NOTE 12 ART 16 NAMING AND BROADCASTING General Safety plan for the event will be available from the race secretary, as per the requirements of the safety & recreation act 2 of 2010.
