The Spring Enduro drew a full slate earlier than usual. As the event drew near, some had to cancel, but those on the waiting list appreciated it. Then, during the weekend, we reached the end of the waiting list with some alternates even canceling. I hope all had a good time, even though the weather was challenging at times!! Cari Hinesly (541) hineslyc@hughes.net CLUB NOTES 39th Rogue Challenge Series (RCS) The 2013 season will be the 39th for the RCS. The Spring Enduro is the first points event and the series includes events through the September event. They will have Friday afternoon practice, Saturday practice and the timed event on Sunday. That will give 7 events. Only 6 of them will be counted for points, so if you attend all 7 events, the event with the lowest number of points will be thrown out. To qualify for the championship awards, a person needs to have participated in 4 of the events, in the same Siskiyou Summits class. Points are awarded as: 1st place=9 pts, 2nd=6 pts, 3rd=4 pts, 4th=3 pts, 5th=2 pts, beyond 6th and DNF=1 pt. Also included this year is a challenge for the women drivers. They will compete for a Ladies Pax Award at the end of the season. Spring Enduro The forecast did not look good for the Enduro weekend and it turned out to be correct. The rain held off on Friday until 3:30, giving drivers who arrived early, many dry runs. After that, they had the opportunity to see how their cars handled on a wet surface. Saturday was a mixture of wet and dry all day. Sunday was very cool, windy and cloudy and many records were broken even with these conditions. When 4 cars were left to run, a few drops of rain fell on the windshields. By the last car, it was a full fledged rainfall. However, the third- and second-to-last cars, still managed to break records - Harper & Middlebrook. You just never know!!!?! Top 10 Finishers WEBSITE: March - April 2013 SISKIYOU SPORTS CAR CLUB P.O. With all the tasks that need to be done to make an event safe, organized and efficient, it takes volunteers. Those volunteers are not working just during the event - many tasks occur before and after the event. We really appreciated everyone who stayed to help at the end of the day Sunday. There is a lot of equipment to return to the storage unit and after a long day, ending a full weekend, it was great to get it all done so quickly. So thanks to all who make it possible to hone our driving skills and satisfy our competitive urge, safely.

2 Cascade Lakes Hillclimb, June 8-9 Thanks to Charles Cox. for taking on the position of Chairman for the hillclimb this year. Many volunteers are needed before, during and after this event. 6 Siskiyou Sports Car Club of Medford, Oregon presents 2013 Rogue Challenge Series Event #2 Friday - Sunday April at Jackson County Sports Park, White City Friday practice: Fee: $10 - open to all. Registration, Tech & practice from 4:00 - dusk Saturday practice: Fee: $25 - autocross club member, $30 - non-member Registration, Tech Inspection and Practice from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Sunday: Fee: $21 - autocross club members, $31 non-members, $5.00 first timer Registration & Tech Inspection 7:30-8:30 a.m. Mandatory drivers meeting 8:45 a.m. Timed runs start at 9: Valid driver s license must be presented at registration. - - Helmets required (Snell 2000 or newer). Loaners helmets are available. - - All cars must pass technical inspection. - - Roll bars required on open cockpit cars. - - Drivers may register for either or both sessions on Sunday. However, points will only be given for a driver s first run of the day. - - Work assignments will be given at the drivers meetings. Drivers should expect to be at the track for their entire day in order to fulfill working assignments.
